      The judge messed up worse. She permitted the plaintiff's attorney to play a segment of AJ insulting the jury which was not evidence relevant to the claims of the case. *This without question prejudiced the jury and gives him yet another set of grounds for an appeal.*
      This smirking attorney will end up throwing a fit on TV in a year or two when the verdict is overturned.

    The idea of a law that you aren't allowed to inform the jury of is absurd. If the punitive damages cap stays in place, I hope at least that this law becomes common knowledge to the extent that it fails to work anymore.

      the big thing though is that if you inform them of that law, they way-overreward on compensatory damages even on cases where it's not warranted, thus making for an even more broken system.

      Yes! This lawyer became a legend in that cross examination. Jones literally compared him to Perry Mason. Unreal. HOWEVER... With Jones losing this case, it sets a bad president for journalism. Alex Jones was just asking questions and having an opinion on the facts of the shooting. So being someone who questions all sides costs you $50 million now? Got it. Jones won't have to pay it anyway. There's a cap on slander. Who has the last laugh now?

    Completely agree with jury. Never expected to be entertained. He'd popped up twice from his chair and his attorney would have to politely push him back into the seat. At one point, when only attorneys were in the courtroom, the judge gasped, "oh, no" like how much more do I have to endure? She corrected herself, but it was a gut reaction. She treated him like a 5 year old: there's a question and you have to answer the question, yes, or no. Never expected to watch a Shakespearian comedy.

    Mark Bankston and his team are a class act! After Mr Heslin testified, you could just see and feel the outpouring of empathy they showed for him. They are real gentlemen and my respect to them on how dignified and professional they were in such an extraordinary circumstance. Congratulations to them for providing an amazing case which ultimately will help those poor people move forward with their lives.

    The fact that Jones’ supporters haven’t realized that he is just using them to depart them with their hard-earned money is the most bafflingly thing to me. He will say whatever he has to say to get them to send in money….that’s all. Jones has admitted to being charlatan and a “performance artist” and yet this doesn’t cause a moment of pause.

      No matter how much he's been correct about anything there's still people who willingly just don't want to look into what he has to say because of cognitive dissonance. You're bit about him being a performance artist is true, however, if you are actually genuine about what he said he meant that in the fact that part of his broadcast is having segments where it's not serious mixed in with actual news which is how public broadcasters usually run their show.     I lost a good friend to Jones' lunacy. Believes everything he says, even though all of her and my grandparents brushed their teeth twice a day, every day for the last 60something years of their lives with fluoride toothpaste and all lived to very old ages. Alex Jones was just asking questions and having an opinion on the facts of the shooting. So being someone who questions all sides costs you $50 million now? Got it. Jones won't have to pay it anyway. There's a cap on slander. Who has the last laugh now?

      The legal team worked pro bono, which means the plaintiffs didn’t pay the legal team anything. Mr Jones’ team, however, were sanctioned by the court for not disclosing certain things during discovery and had to pay a certain amount and that went to the plaintiff’s legal team

      Juries especially in Texas are pretty stingy. 4 mil for compensation is a lot of money for you and me, but for Alex is a couple months revenue, and normal people can't really wrap their head around that.
      I agree 75 mil for compensation was appropriate but you always ask for more than you think you'll get

    Sure wish I had a lawyer that actually worked for me. My daughter was killed in a MVH it was so corrupt that when I called them all out ...the DA quit his job & is now working for my law firm. corrupt corrupt. But this case was not a good representation of laws 🙄 😕.
