As my Pawpaw uses to say, you sir are a gentleman and a scholar. My main base is a poorly dug hole under an even sadder shack. Time to back the bags it's moving day!
We just claimed this base. Put one flame close to your location and the other in Woodgard. Pretty cool. We just started playing this past week and love it. Just got the alchemist and destroyed 2 Elixir wells so far. This game is a rare gem because it satisfies my desire to craft and build and has enough "purpose" or storyline kind of play for my partner.
Hi, thank you for your video! I found a way to remove the rumble / small stones (5:00) keeping same block: you need to remove replace twice and the game will consider this is a player built block without any stones.
I've flown around it repeatedly and never thought to move in to them. Thank you!
The Dev's are planning on adding a patch that puts snap points on exiting derelict buildings.
It will make ruins repairable
Explain, please?
@@NathienSKsounds like you will be able to repair a wall, like if a corner piece is broken off a wall you can fill it in. That’s my interpretation
So the Flame Altar does that. Does this mean places will be reparable without the altar? Otherwise i don't see the point.
@@riteasrain I don’t think you can use a construction hammer outside the altar area
That is a good spot. I found an inn up where you get the alchemists mortar that gives 20-26 comfort with no improvement. But it doesn't have any farmland.
Me and my 2 buddies have been in that house since day 1. Its great.
You don't have to use a foundation to replace the wall or floor you can use a wall or flooring piece to begin with as long as you have already removed a block within the floor or wall are you are trying to removed. You can also replace the block by clicking Y to undo your last build option.
Thanks for the tips!
how you place the flame altar on that bridge? do you place it then build the bridge then delete it and build again?
BRO! This is perfectly timed for me, you uploaded this video right when I discovered this place last night and placed my 2nd base 😂
Glad it came through in good time, I'll keep an eye out for anymore good prebuilds
This has been my fave base location. The pre built farms sold me on it early on.
Great vid, very informative, i didnt know about this location, its a bit too near the Spire for me though, i like my fast travel points spread more
Btw, you dont need to pre-neaten the rooves before repair, they repair once you snap it in
You also never need Scaffolding, because you can use Build pieces like rooves or stairs and so on, then just remove them after getting your materials back, unlike using scaffolding
Not meaning negativity, just informing so we can all know more
Great comment, I showed the neatening as you are mostly correct but occasionally it argues and you need to remove a block or 2 so I figured I'd do it this way to save time in the video as I like to keep them short and essential
The scaffolding is fun though, and being climable can be used as lookouts outside, or fun indoor upper "floors".
Duuuude! It's the best! Can you move fire alter lvl 2,3 or always lvl1 and you have to upgrade it?
how did you build the flame on top of the structure over the bridge? Dont you have to have a flame altar placed already to repair that bridge area?
yea, so build flame alter put a frame in so you can put it where you want it. delete altar place new one
Thanks mate- figured that out later but ended up putting it under the bridge
I placed a flame level 1 altar inside the kitchen but it is upgraded to level 4. How to do I relocate the alter outside without losing everything inside? Thanks. Epic location.
@@glansberry You can pick up the flame altar, craft a new one, and place it in the new location. As long as you do so within I think 2 in game days, your stuff should be safe. Just make sure the are you have placed objects in or built in is within the new boundary. having mats ready for immediate upgrades to the altar would be a good ideal, also.
I did the same except I have two altars, one by the fields and a second one right by the home, and I mostly use the one by the home for teleporting, while the field one is the one I actually upgrade to take up as most space as possible
This was where I built my base in the demo. This time I chose a more central region, Hillock. There was one big downside to this base location. It is down in almost a whole, making the already ridiculously short days feel even shorter, which was annoying for building.
Good video thanks, when I remove/ demolish the building it doesn't give the materials back to me as resources? occasionally it'll just give me logs. any ideas? thanks
The rubble goes away if you take out large areas of the wood. You can replace the floor with the exact same floor that was there if you take 1 block out and the switch to the large flooring piece place it press y and then place it again. It will remove the rubble
So what if you already upgraded your fire alter in the first zone? Can you transport it to this spot? Aren’t resources to update the alters finite? Sorry. I’m interested in doing this but am not up to speed on flamer alters logistics.
Flame level is retained, dont worry. Its the altar level that has to be upgraded again. Flame level is permanent, but you have to upgrade your altar to enlarge the space you want to build in
Think i try this place as i have started a new game after done with my first game hehe thx for the info about this place!
Lack of the base location vids for this game here on YT thanks
Very nice!
This was my home until I discovered Glenwood's End and that took over my life.
Awsome Suggestion, Sadly it Blocks loot respawn in games...
How did you replace the floor?
Where did my post go? YT didn't like the steam screenshot link? Was gonna ask if I should change location since I had already started a pretty big project a bit furher north on a cliffside.
You get more Flame Altars available when you upgrade your altar, so you can have a few bases at once.
How did you get it to show up as homestead instead of just home
I started rebuilding this but moved to the tavern. Once the crafting stations can pull from the chests, I'll return. Right now, it's too tedious walking mats from the chests to the specific crafting stations across the town.
Did you make magic chests?
The only thing that can't pull from blue chests right now is the build hammer
I'm talking about the actual stations like the table saw or kiln. Those cannot pull from magic chests. @@JoeHammerGaming
Any idea how to replace the walls that are already here fast? I've been trying it but only 1 block at a time as build walls won't snap to the original ones.
remove one block, place wall, remove wall, place wall. Currently we can't snap to ruins but it is going to get patched in later down the line
I put a fire place in that room and placed a 2 way door and regular door on both exits and i only get the warm bonus if im next to the fireplace not in that bed, why?
what kind of fire do you have seems the higher level the fire is the further it gives warmth
I wish there's a way to remove the shroud for good,i made my base on top of a mountain very far from the shroud,i'm trying to get used to live in a safe place for when they add enemies attack to bases to the game.
Cheers mate 🍻
No problem 👍 thanks for the first comment XD
Where is the first initial fire altar????
Don't do what I did and clear out all the broken furniture reducing the comfort level to 15 doh, I'm still early game but with a level 2 flame alter, the building mostly restored, I'm up to comfort 25, had no idea the furniture was a factor...
game's a virtual builders dream
I'm not enjoying the voxel building as much as I thought. You don't know for sure how the end will look until you place the blocks. Every other survival game I've played I know exactly how to recreate the look I want and what pieces will look like before I place them.
Yout just not used to it because its complex and versatile. just experiment, get used to it. get inspiration from others.@@achilleonv
For all those lazy builders
Building before you get all the material blocks is very unrewarding so this is great to start the game
theres a secret chest nearby the hunter
I had problems placing my altar I couldn't find enemies I took care of the rats in the basement 😢
lol bad ! Not too building ! 😂
