Dudes, Josh is stress testing games like neither humans or gods were intended to see. Also, if he can't break the game, look at that as a mark of quality.

The fact that Josh hasn't uploaded in a month and the amount of resources he somehow had leads me to believe that his off cam moments in this game is far more insane

He was streaming a different game the other day with a friend. Exactly as entertaining even just off-the-cuff. Love his videos though lol. Such memorable moments. I'm sure he only doesn't upload as much because he makes enough from what he does do that he is just living his life. And I am so happy for him. He is a gift and a curse to game devs everywhere.
Either way is fine with me. I've read other comments of people complaining that he cheats just because he spawns in resources. But even if he did I wouldn't consider it cheating because he still breaks the game with how he uses those resources. And in theory anyone can do the same in pure vanilla.

I just love it when Josh is being a menace to the enemies. If he ever upload a horror playthrough it's definitely going to give "I'm not trapped here with you. You're trapped here with me" vibe

The fact that it would've taken a much shorter time to use tools to break the door, but instead Josh insists on spending 45 minutes of punching is the kind of chaos I watch this channel for

The man builds like a fiend but I doubt he exclusively does everything the hard way.

Part of the reason I love Josh's let's plays (aside from his general craziness and evil genius) is that you can get a feel for the game without ever being spoiled if you decide to get it for yourself 😂

As a game dev, you really gotta appreciate the stuff Josh is doing here. REALLY shows the kinda stuff that players will and can do to break a game. :D
Yeah Just Watching his videos I discovered way to many creative and insane way to break pretty polished games
It is important for game devs to always remember that many players will do anything in their power to not follow directions, especially in open world/sandbox games nobody wants to do what is basically expected of them.

He's a good lesson for software engineers in general. I used to think "Oh I don't need to worry about that, no sane person would ever have THAT many crafting tables" and other such things. Because of this channel, I now fear players.
Fixing this is pretty simple, don't allow building a flame altar on a player-built surface.
Literally everyone: *rescues villagers and makes a nice base
Josh: Defies nature by digging a massive hole in the ground buries one villager with dirt and beds and traps the other one forever.

These crafting games that are somewhat unknown keep looking better and better. Decent UI, lots of models, solid particle effects, volumetric fog, interesting terrain, procedural tunnels… production value of a AAA game 10 years ago.
Now it’s something I never heard about except for Josh breaking every possible mechanic imaginable.
Unknown? This was a big release for the survival genre, covered by all the big names like Gameranx and ACG too, which I have no doubt is why it was chosen for a video
@@cenciende9401 Yeah there are several channels I watch that do survival games and every single one of them played this game and made videos about it. It's far from unknown, lol. It's sold over a million copies and is just behind Palworld on the Steam charts.

It’s just that Josh also reviews these janky buggy games so when I personally haven’t heard about it and I saw that it basically copied a lot of the crafting staples, I made assumptions. But it figures seeing the production value.

I like the idea of being able to build mines, usually when you dig outward after going down it just makes the hole bigger, but you can actually tunnel.
Also being able to stack nase markers is pretty awesome.

I really like the workarounds in this one! Building an entire skyway to drop into any area, with a god's eye view...super neat. Imagine doing this in any area you'd like to get around in. We should have a bunch of skyways in all our cities! (non-car)

This was my first video I seen of yours and I laughed the entire time and looking forward to watching your other videos. Well done sir.
I am so amazed by how many loopholes you're able to come up with. The game looks great and seems fun, you're way of playing the game makes it even more exciting.
I am starting to think posting once a month and sometimes even years is Josh's mastermind plan to get us to click the video as soon as we get the notification because we just know it will get us laughing whole weeks. Also it's surprising how much work he puts into these as some of the vids he makes takes whole months to make without counting with the editing, I truly love it especially how he turns it into 30 or less seconds normally. Honestly appreciate josh ever since I discovered his channel and I'd genuinely be heartbroken if one time for some reason he just doesn't post at all.... ever.
I often wonder how devs feel about it when their work being engaged in this way. I guess the goal was for people to have fun with their game so when Josh shows he derives fun in a non-standard way it must be interesting to watch!

For some reason I'm reminded of the time in Dayz when the server owner said there were no limits to base building and provided nails for only a thousand at the vendor. Sky palace! Okay, more like Sky-4x4-box-with-a-small-platform-under-it! I managed to get the roof within a few feet of the top of the map height. People flying helis up to assault your base really hated that m249 I had.

Ok to be fair. That "terrible bridge" is actually a neat design. Spiked out and kind of giving me a fear of clumsily stepping between those gaps and falling.

NMS is broken enough as is, there's really not much he can do to break it more.
NMS patched the hole digging mechanic so enemy fire and spider bots clip through the ground. If your base is too high, you can't defeat all the Sentinels and now they respawn once you warp to a new system
Also I think Sean was thinking of Josh when he created Light No Fire 🤣
