I'm not sure if this is a helpful tip or just a warning, but I chose my first base location right outside the spawn point, not where the game suggested. It's a nearby village to the west. I decided to follow your approach and modify existing structures. However, there are areas where I can't build at all, and others within that specific location that reset any changes I make after logging out. Have you encountered this behavior anywhere else when modifying game content? I'm worried because it cost me about two hours of playtime.
Loved the double layer roof tip! An easier method of creating the checker board is putting down a 4M ceiling, using the individual tool remove every other block, then use the 4M ceiling of a different material to fill in all of the gaps.
I took over a farmhouse pretty early on and completely abandoned my "starting house" the tutorial has you build at the start. The farmhouse is complete with fertile soil and multiple very good resources nearby. This has helped my early game SO tremendously and can't be overstated how useful it is! I'm currently in the middle of a full-on renovation where I've now built an entire extension, completely repaired the main house, and expanded the garden/farming area. Like I said I'm still very early game (level 8 or something - just upgraded global altar level to lvl3) so I'm sure I'll get into more detailed builds from scratch, but loving this farmhouse so far
You are ridiculously good at building in this game. Satisfactory as well. If can put something together half as good as you do, I will be feeling pretty good about myself.
This game is amazing, even if building is pointless is still a lot of fun, maybe it's for cosmetics, but I'm gonna spend next 100 hours just chilling and building things. I started today and I love this game
Minecraft has always been my goto game for relaxing building. Just picked up this game earlier this week and I am completely blown away. Its so hard to not have my minecraft build habits rub off on me, but this vid will help me challenge myself :) thank you!
If you ever played its TerraFirmaCraft mod, then you might also want to check out Vintage Story. Its chisel mechanic is pretty bonkers when it comes to possible detailing.
Build around the fireplace assets with similar stone and watch them transform. I also like the brazier trick. A Great trick for roofing is to use the snapping after u place a corner where u want it. Snap around the edges to make sure is all even. Starting with a foundation or shape that is based on 8 (even) will save you a lot of time roofing. Roofs do not line up on odd tiles.
Bro I could watch you build all day just to learn your ways. It’s soooo good. Love the tips but aint enough. I really wanna see you building everything from scratch.
Excellent video my friend! I'm not nearly as good at the building but I still enjoy it. My favorite so far is placing an altar on the very peak of a mountain. Then creating a floating Mountain Fortress in the sky.
What an incredible video!! Thank you very much for this detailed look at the building in this game. I have watched 3 other videos about this game and I was not completely sold. However, this video of yours has absolutely sold me!! This is my 1st video of yours I have seen and based on how much I enjoyed your tips, tricks, I simply cannot wait until the game is installed. I am also looking forward to more of your content! I am now a subscriber to your channel based on this 1st video of yours I have come by. Thank you and take care
Fun fact for easier build materials at begining of game set down one of your altars at a premade building location and dismantle the whole thing then use the resources to build your own
I find that a roof of tarred shingle on top of stone walls with snapping-to-grid turned on looks absolutely fine, it's the rough wood stuff that makes things poke through mostly. Also, advice involving clipping things together, pure TotalXclipse, I thought I was watching one of your many great Satisfactory videos 😀
Been working on maxing gear and stats. I have an overgrown shack with 30+ twig and string chest 😂 plan on doing some massive builds once my charchter is where I want it. Thanks for the tips! The building looks more intuitive than Valheim. Had a massive complex in Valheim with a shipyard, gladiator arena, and a portal death pit trap 😂
if you want more flowers in your flowerbed soil plant your flowers and trees slightly lower then the spot you want then add the flower soil ontop of dirt after
Nice work, thanks. I'm not sure if you have done so already - about to check your other vids - but I'd love to see some tips on roofing, I really struggle to get things to meet and wonder if there are set rules I should follow in terms of building dimensions etc.
Oh no, I never knew that you could remove the ground with the hammer, I just dug out my cellar manually. At least I got 2000 pieces of stone from that, hahah. Very impressive builds by the way, I will definitely try using more of singular voxels now for refining my buildings.
Hope at some point they make it so you can built a "frame" of various types of blocks, and then copy/paste that frame elsewhere. Like build one 8/8 block of intricate flooring, then copy it to the rest of the floor.
Damn! I was a little upset about the fact that there weren't any angled beams like in valheim. Never though about playing it with 1x blocks! Awesome video dude
If you remove the flame, you'll have to upgrade it again, the comfort items count across the whole zone of that flame altar, although there's some bugs with it not visual counting the full comfort level even if the timer goes way above that.
Yes the Limit of the Altar is although verticallly cause the Limit is a "Box". But when you Upgrade you Upgrade the large of the Box which is also verticallly.
honestly im not sure yet if i like the building in enshrouded, on one hand it is great, on the other hand... if all youre given are right angles then sooner or later youd probably feel a bit... boxed in, i can see why they limit it to such a hard build grid but IMO its just bad, you can place buildings exactly where you want them because of the hard build grid etc
I'm going to end up spending 90% of my gameplay building a house/castle, the same way I did in Valheim (which I still haven't beat because I always end up building too much).
Enshrouded allows you to build really pretty things, even compared to Valheim. But somehow there's no challenge, the lack of the support mechanics makes it somewhat pointless to spend time on the design for reasons other than aesthetics
All the big pieces are basically just prefab templates of multiple voxel blocks. If you place one of them you can even use the 1x1 tools to remove voxels from them. It's not Vintage Story types of crazy but it is fairly flexible.
TBH, the whole build is pretty average. The tips are good, but not too impressed with the implementation of. With more time spent on building in Enshrouded you might find better ways to implement some of this. There were no Epic builds depicted in this video. Just generic stuff from Other games you tried to bring to Enshrouded. But by enshrouded standards are pretty boring/average. IMHO Using blocks and varying block types to add detail to plain walls is always good, its just not done very well here, could be better.
@@ObviouscaptainJust disappointed. :) I'm an average builder at best, was hoping for some inspiration or insight. Instead I got an average boring box. But youtube is hit and miss, you gotta watch a few to find the gems.
What are your top build tips for Enshrouded?

My biggest problem is switching easily between material types. I am getting ready to build my main area and this video gave me so many nice ideas.
I too made the Rooms somewhat "higher" >;-) it is just a must when You want a cozy House without any claustrophobic Feelings. 😁
I know this video is 9 months old it was helpful, can you tell me a nice spot to build a 2nd base?
Loved the double layer roof tip!

Thank God was looking for an Enshrouded's version of Grain, glad to see someone stepped up. Instant sub
Who is this Grain person?

This is exactly the kind of video I needed.

the window being used for something else is genius

This game has the best building mechanics ive ever used
No Man's Sky is better, Valheim is the absolute best.
@@NegativeROG valheim is ok at best, even with mods
@@code_xj Everyone is entitled to an opinion, even if it's wrong.

omg you can extend the stone road with the rake?!
Thank you ❤
whats the best way to demolish an existing building inside your flame area though, as only furniture seems to be demolishable
Do you still want other builds within the flame area? If not remove the flame alter and rebuild after everything's despawned?

how did you make those white stone roof edges in your basement? 7:14 looks really nice
I think that's limestone terrain rock.
Anyway to have a sheep enclosure?
I'm impressed
Do you have any ideas how to remove the fog from the house?
I wish I did 😅
Renovating is way harder than building yourself.
then theres me, using the pick axe to make a hole large enough for my flame, a chair, and i
I carved a hole into the fabric of reality with my rake so IDK what I did wrong XD
Make sure to lower the rake first, for some reason it defaults in a vertical position not a horizontal one 😅
@TotalXclipse we can lower it? 😮 how?

top building tip that everyone seems to miss
make your roof 2 blocks thick so the wall corners dont poke through it
I didn't miss that tip at all - I mention it in the video :)
