Ability to plant multiple crop at a time by creating a zone with the mouse! or ability to automatically re-plant a seed if found in inventory when cutting a plant
100% agreed on your two observations at the end. I’d like to add one more, from a Valheim mod. The ability to plant a grid of crops at a time, similar the the building blocks/grids. 4 x 4 plants 16 crops with one click. Better than clicking 16 times.
Yes, and i would even say that even in the base soil stuff grows way too fast. It should take like 3-7 ingame days to fully grow to reward proper planning and having larger fields + storage for the harvest. There should also be stages of growth that allow you to harvest it earlier but get way less crops, like harvest an half grown plant in an emergency for only 25% of what a fully grown plant would have dropped.
Yay! The ultimate power in Enshrouded! Hoeing! Also as far as improvements i feel like we should be able to automate the process by assigning the farmer to handle farming and replant when they harvest stuff for us. Honestly it should be possible for each of the NPCs to be able to handle some tasks
Would like plant breeding to increase yield. Add a breeding plot, and each plant specimen is assigned random stats. After pollination, the offspring has a mix of the stats. Like in Rust. Only part of the game I miss is the plant crossing...
Easiest way I've found to make a flower bed is to place 2 floors, one at ground level and the other underneath, remove the area for the bed and place a couple of blobs of soil. Then bring out the rake and you can spread that right across the area you hollowed out. Currently the rake will generate the terrain it's flattening so not only is that bed nice and level it's also mostly free soil. Works a charm for raised beds or window boxes. Always worth putting a few of each gathering into a seed bed so you have a stash of seedlings and never have to go hunting for anything but desert flowers.
totally agree on the button spamming and the soil producing more instead of taking less time. I play solo, so i have to be the farmer, warrior, mage, builder etc and it becomes overwhelming trying to take care of all these plants and progress through the game. Don't make me do it more often for more, give me more over the same period of time! Makes so much more sense. Surprised this wasn't done already, as most survival games already do it this way.
For those interested, you don't actually need multiple wells. Simply pick up the well, and then place it back down to bypass the time delay. PS: To avoid wearing out your E key and help with your carpel tunnel, use a mouse that has macro keys available. I use a Logitech mouse that has a couple buttons near my thumb and I use a simply macro like Press E and release, and it repeats that macro until I press the button again. Great for picking up loot on the ground, picking plants, etc.
@@TotalXclipse The whole reason I found this video because he as trying to figure out how to get water. Watching the whole video though because quality AF. SUBBBED
The tier 1 wells holds water capacity up to 8 units, the tier 2 wells is up to 15. So it's easier to have multiple wells if you have resources because it's less annoyances when you do farm.
I am SO glad you are making guides for this game. I recently got it and I am having way too much fun. I didn't expect to like it this much, but it truly is a gem that should only get better over time. I think it's an excellent early access release. Can't wait to see all your builds!!!
As an amateur botanist/horticulturalist, I am just loving the fact that all their plants actually look like the real plant's they are supposed to be, unlike so many games with generic plants whose only resemblance to the real thing is the fruit or grains they bear...
I have installed it but still haven't given it a try....engrossed in Diablo 4. I absolutely love the fact that archers use twigs to craft arrows, and farming can sustain an archer's ammo production! That is EXACTLY the type of stuff I would hope to be able to do with a farming system....and a farming system is exactly the kind of thing that player housing should offer. I hope the game sells well and the devs stick with it! Rust and No Man's Sky are two shining examples of well-supported games that are worth every penny (and more) with frequent content updates.
Make the farmer walk out and plant and harvest whatever seedlings you've created at the tables. Provide her with the farming fields she needs and set her to work. Planting over 100 flax is getting super tedious. Automate the npcs to make them more useful. Maybe only make it available after you've collected all of their supplies.
You don't need to harvest the water at the well, simply use the item fill option in the seed-bed/magic box tab, all the wells in the builds zone will be available on a ticking 2m interval
Great video, agree we need some mass harvesting/planting tools. A hand sickle would be a good tool to get. Also why can't we employ our resident NPCs to help with things around the place?. The alchemist and farmer should be able to gather and process some materials for us, while the carpenter and blacksmith could chop trees and mine stone in designated areas around the alters build zone. The hunter could also go get animals too. Hopefully we'll get an NPC recruit update soon so we can either find lost survivors and get the 5 crafters to help out.
Nice video. I also agree with your suggestions of using different soil, holding down E or having a Scythe and the better yields for better soil. You can always check out their Planned Features and if those aren't in there, you can always suggest them.
My favorite thing I just did because im tired of clicking E and getting a cramp is, change your key bind from E to Scroll up and down on your mouse wheel. Cleared out my farms WAY faster that way.
7:10 I totally agree. I I don’t even use “farm soil” to plant my crops in. I go out to adventure and when I come back everything is grown. I don’t see a point. But if the soil gave you double or triple harvest amounts then it would be worth it for me. And the spamming E is sf annoying to harvest all your crops 🤦🏻♂️ They gotta do something.
Short tipp for Water: You can place a well, take out water, pick up well, place well, take out water,.... With one Well you will have infinite amount of water available.
Yeh, but then you're only grabbing 3-5 water at a time, if you have a few wells you'll not need to keep picking and replacing them as they store 8-15 water each when full 😊

Some plants such as aloe need to be cut down when they're ready and then the actual bits you want sort of fall or fly away from the plant and you have to go find them which is even more work. On top of that there is a problem with some things like the aloe leaves partially or fully clipping through the ground and are very hard to spot so you end up losing some.

Planting: They should offer the option to surround patches with markers; that way, they can work like grids and neatly plant as many crops as the player/space can provide. how to make sugar?? I'm almost at the end of the game, I've unlocked everything and I can't find the sugar recipe anywhere, or even a ready-made one anywhere.
The farming system could be improved, the whole throw a crop into a seedbed to get 5 seedlings is a bit annoying to maintain since you gotta put so much resources in a object instead of having a renewable crop like berries you can feed fertilizer or something to regain it.
What I would like is a reason to do all this lol im at 32/37 archivements lvl 24½ and im still naked minus my wands flame alter fully upgraded have not crafted anything that wasnt needed to advance a quest lol
I am disappointed that you can't farm stone or ores, I understand that we can't do it IRL but it would be nice to have a pet rock or a slug of silver to help with your emotional needs when times get tough.... "hold on Bullwinkle, daddy's coming to save you I just need to get back to the location!"
It is mad that you are taking the time to rotate the crops to line up like that. There currently is a way to get unlimited water - which is a shame. Just dismantle and replace the water well and it will be fully topped up. I hope the devs patch this so that water wells dont give water for 20 minutes or so after placing them down. Also you can duplicate any terrain using rake and get infinite fertilised soil. This is less of a big deal though
I have two wells, and unless I'm doing a lot of farming in a short amount of time, I don't ever run out of water, but you're right that exploit isn't exactly fun for the game. As for the rake duplication - that's the same method I talk about in the video I believe
just do it like vallheim. let us plant grids of plants at the same time. having to place each seed individually is a pain and made me not engage with the system more. same goes for harvesting. this gardening system is literally a carpal tunnel speed run right now.

Grow sugar cane then make it in the I believe stamina section of the farmers recipe
The farming system could be improved, the whole throw a crop into a seedbed to get 5 seedlings is a bit annoying to maintain since you gotta put so much resources in a object instead of having a renewable crop like berries you can feed fertilizer or something to regain it.
Like the hazelnut tree, I'd like to see more fruit trees too.... like can get some orange trees!
What I would like is a reason to do all this lol im at 32/37 archivements lvl 24½ and im still naked minus my wands flame alter fully upgraded have not crafted anything that wasnt needed to advance a quest lol
I mean I would totally use the farming system if the DAMN RAKE would show up on my workbench 😭
If only I could get the rake. Not even on a second or third character can I get a base rake. Even without it I still enjoy the game.
id just like the fps and graphics issued fixed so its playable
let the rake or make a new tool to multi plant seeds
Yes! That would be so useful!
I'm trying to make a beeline straight to gardening but the rest of the game is getting in my way.
I use an E spam mouse macro >.>
You just need one well and the lowest Tier well is enough
Place the well ,harvest water, pick up the well ,repeat
=Infinit water
I’d like to see an option to plant faster and harvest faster. Way to slow right now
It's pretty tedious planting individually, late game farming is massive, and planting 500 seeds every 30min is just annoying.
ultimate?
I am disappointed that you can't farm stone or ores, I understand that we can't do it IRL but it would be nice to have a pet rock or a slug of silver to help with your emotional needs when times get tough....
"hold on Bullwinkle, daddy's coming to save you I just need to get back to the location!"
farming simulator looks like fun
wheat go to Bounty Barn south east off nomad highlands fast travel
It is mad that you are taking the time to rotate the crops to line up like that.
There currently is a way to get unlimited water - which is a shame. Just dismantle and replace the water well and it will be fully topped up.
I hope the devs patch this so that water wells dont give water for 20 minutes or so after placing them down.
Also you can duplicate any terrain using rake and get infinite fertilised soil. This is less of a big deal though
I have two wells, and unless I'm doing a lot of farming in a short amount of time, I don't ever run out of water, but you're right that exploit isn't exactly fun for the game.
As for the rake duplication - that's the same method I talk about in the video I believe
this game needs pals
😅 wrong game.... But a little help here and there wouldn't go a miss
one thing weird about this game is theres literally no bodies of water anywhere
If there were bodies of water, we would have to hit it eith a pickaxe to collect the water lol.
Under utilised? It’s hard to get food going, from the requirements for the farmer to the spread out resources, planting is the easiest part.
just do it like vallheim. let us plant grids of plants at the same time. having to place each seed individually is a pain and made me not engage with the system more. same goes for harvesting. this gardening system is literally a carpal tunnel speed run right now.
Isn't it the same as Valheims system? You need a mod to do grids of plants IIRC
@@TotalXclipse i dont remember if it was a mod or not, but either way, its the superior way of doing things.
