The problem I imagine would be BATC understanding Vatsim traffic as it won't be under the control of BATC's traffic injection. If they could work that out, then that would be perfect!
I think getting the program to identify other traffic on VATSIM as well as ATC coverage is key really to actually have a seamless integration with Vatsim, because otherwise it seems pointless just using Beyond ATC just for en-route coverage where there isn't much radio coms anyway.
tbh, I was using vatsim, but now I’ll use just beyondatc. It does the same thing, but all stations active, the quality is good, no more shitty microphones of others, or moody annoying or speed racing ATC’s. I dont see any point in mixing those two. I dont really need to have the feeling that there is someone alive on the other side when rhe immersion is actually better with this addon

But they have gone to great lengths to insure accurateness with everything else even going as far as using the same ATIS voices we use in the US so I'd think they'd get that right if they're able to handle other types of procedures and different phraseologies around the world.

As a Greek, I have to say that the AI generated Greek accents are spot on. Beyond that, I want to use it to learn more about GA. I consider it very difficult to try to learn to fly visual on VATSIM and I have never done that. This software will help me master GA.

Haven't flown offline since the early FSX days. This is seriously impressive especially the voice quality. Getting away from that robotic style and more human side, and the fact that I'm sometimes constrained to flying on 'quieter' vatsim days this seems incredibly enticing. Will definitely buy it, but for me the complete product was preferred despite 3 to 4 months later. Flying without traffic is lonely. BATC will not cooperate with FSLTL as the in-sim ATC does.

During approach, all pilots on VATSIM really should be monitoring and announcing intentions on unicom. BATC Is great for cruise and descent etc, but communication on VATSIM is essential.
This sounds like a great product. One thing I do think we have been missing is a good AI model matching programme which covers aircraft like Dash 8's ATR's 757's A330's. The ones we seem to have are very much A320's and 737's.

Looking good thanks Gav. Would like to see what happened if you had requested direct to PEVAL. Would it have cleared you direct. Also how about requesting a flight level change. It is it strictly sticking to your sim brief plan. And how will taxi instructions at default airports work as they don’t have the correct taxiway names. All things still to be discussed I guess.
VATSIM compatibility would be great, however I'm not sure how it would work if you're flying on vatsim outside of an ATC controlled airspace as you're supposed to monitor and communicate on the Unicom frequency, so I can't see how interacting with unicom and Beyond ATC at the same time would work. Also I noticed when you reconnected to Beyond ATC the controller issued you with a potentially different squawk code to the one VATSIM may have given you.

My only issue with BeyondATC is that I also have to use - and likely pay for annually - SimBrief in order for BeyondATC to work. I don't want to add another layer (SimBrief) just to be able to use BeyondATC.

Couple of Questions spring to my mind with using this ATC to fill in gaps of Vatsim.. 1. Squawk Codes are different? Vatsim gives you a Squawk when they control you, and i note that when you went back onto BATC, it gace you a new Squawk? Would Vatsim not expect you to fly with the the code They gave you in case you flew into a Vatsim area further along the flight? 2. Does Vatsim require you to monitor Unicom when not under ATC control? if so how will that be done if your radio Freq is tuned to BATC? 3. If flying with BATC controlling you and say you are turning Final on RW Appr or even on 10 mile Final, and Vatsim controller comes online and wants you to contact him, how accurate will BATC in knowing what the correct RW in use will be? If the above questions are all do-able, then BATC here is my wallet!!

I like it, although recycling the squawk would be a problem if you were to flip back to Vatsim, depending on which station you tune to. They'll be expecting you on the old squawk.
Hi! Great video! Without ai injection, will beyond atc be able to manage traffic separation, correct descent time/range and give me expected runway, airpressure in decent time etc? Now i use ms default atc and have to request altitude decrease to stay on descend profile and just hope i get the rest of the instruction in time to rush in the parameters in the pmdg fmc. Just to discover air traffic infront of me on short final and then go around instruction 200ft above ground.😊

We did trial sayintentionsATC tonight but i personally couldn't get it working for me and gave up however my friend got that working successfully and was pretty amazing however for the price structure of beyondATC with no subscription and the seemingly user friendly interface its got to be a purchase for us most definatly. I just want to fly my airbus from EGKK to LGSA using this amazing program it will make will make a huge immersive difference to my 4hr flight.

I may be mistaken, but I was assuming that we'd be paying the full price for the "ATC-only" product and that a traffic injection update would be coming later, for no further charge. During that time between the release of the two parts, it does look like you'll effectively be the only aircraft in the sim, as far as BATC is concerned, even if you are injecting others via MSFS or FSLTL.
I currently use fs hud. And although being able to talk to them it's a big draw to me when not on vatsim. I like having AI traffic that is controlled more so i will wait for that feature to be added i think. I might give it ago prior but dont think it will replace fshud untill that feature for me

They were AI generated. The BATC guys asked if they could use my voice as one of the co-pilot voices and I said yes. Just for fun. I didnt have to do anything at all. Their tech created the voice just from the RUclips videos. Amazing really.
So if we buy the basic version of BeyondATC, we get the basic voices with a one and done purchase. My question is if we have the basic version and use FS traffic for injection will we have those basic voices for FS traffic or is that a premium feature?
How does it work with SID alt restrictions, for example i live under one of the sids at egph and practically none of the aircraft stick to the 6000ft restriction. I'm assuming atc clears them higher, will beyond atc do something similar?
I am a very old (80 years) real life pilot ( no longer flying but summing here in Kona Hawaii almost every day) I have been a flight simmer since 1983 (then on a Mac Classic). I was always expecting to have to get some form of VR-friendly note-taking addon, as lengthy clearances and my ageing memory would make them tough to readback, and that would also be useful for Vatsim, when I eventually dip my toes in. :) It looks like FSDESKTOP might be able to provide that also, as well as allowing for the use of the BATC interface. Result. \o/
This is really interesting. I wonder if you could use FSLTL still to inject the traffic and let the sim's ATC take care of that until BATC releases the rest of the product. Sim's ATC is only activated for your own flight if you use the sim's planner to load the route before the flight, so it shouldn't mess up with the BATC if you don't do that. If FSLTL cannot be used at all for the traffic injection not sure if I'll purchase on release.
Yes you still can use FSLTL/AIG injection. It just has it's life of it's own, like it kind of is now anyway. BATC isn't bothered what else is being injected.
After having a whinge after watching one of Gav's videos as I thought it was a subscription service (I'd had a bad day at work), I have to admit that I can't wait for it to be released. I think its going to be a great aid to actually getting onto Vatsim. Question though. I take it you would still file your flight on the Vatsim network. Surely they wouldn't want you just popping up mid flight?
Instead of saying what you said for the taxi instructions, could you have just said 3r via India delta4 with your callsign and it would accept it? I feel like they talked about whether or not you needed to be 100% accurate on readbacks but can't remember what they said
Does the frequency list, when you restart BATC, contain contact points for the whole route or for just part of the journey? For example, if you get close to your destination on a long flight, and there is no Vatsim cover, would the BATC list include the approach and tower frequencies?
On all the videos I've seen showcasing BATC there seems to be an echo or a small amount of reverb on the voices which obviously isn't realistic. I wonder if they are aware.
Do we have to speak to atc ourselves? Or are there any pre-recorded voice that we can use just like how we do atc in MSFS? just click it and get response from beyond atc?
I might be being overly hopeful, but I'd guess that BATC might be adding a settings option, for Vatsim, or other online ATC network users, to allow BATC to retain a Vatsim-assigned squawk code. BATC could perhaps easily shuffle around squawk codes, if an AI aircraft had already had it assigned.
Can you turn on or off the auto communication and auto tune during the flight? Say in in cruise has and want to FO to continue communicating while I step away from the pc
Interesting idea to use the two services together. I guess one issue with using this in conjunction with VATSIM is that if you are logged into the VATSIM network with v-pilot, but out of ATC coverage you are supposed to maintain a listening watch on UniCom (or one of the CTAF frequencies in the states), to advise traffic of your intentions and be able to integrate with ohter VATSIm traffic. I suppose you could be tuned to 122.8 on box 2 for unicom, but what happens when there is a conflict between instructions given by Beyond ATC and other live VATSIM traffic Also if an ATC unit comes online but you have been responding to ATC based on AI traffic (as and when that comes to beyond ATC). Could perhaps lead to some issues.
a controller who comes online will likely expect the free for all to be a bit of a tangle so I'm not sure that's an issue as long as the program switches over to the vatsim frequency at the correct time

The pilot hears the copilot through the headset. It shouldn't sound like he's sitting next to you.

Still being tweaked to find best results. It's not just 1 effect, there are multiple, so it never sounds the same with every controller.

Day 1, it's an upgrade for me after going through a lot of "offline" ATC solutions over the past years. Definitely an evolution.

Sounds good. Guessing you'd have to keep an eye on the Squawk code if switching between the two.
...and if VATSIM came back on at a later stage in the flight they would not see your original Squawk Code. Would that be a problem?

I guess the only sqwak code you need to write down is the VATSIM one. And 122.800 can always be monitored on unicom.

I really want this, but sadly I rarely fly IFR. So I will more than likely be waiting until it caters for VFR

Yes I will purchase on day one. I will use FSDESKTOP for VR. I also like the phased in approach to adding traffic control.

You can monitor unicom on Com 2.
BATC seemed to me, to be very good at getting the correct runway.

What about Unicom and all VATSIM protocols? Plus i don't think it's a good idea that swank change if it was given by a VATSIM controller at start.
Unicom can still be monitored on Com 2 and squawk code can be changed back to VATSIMs if/when ATC is online.

No. BATC can only control it's own traffic.

Hey Gavin hope you’re well. Were those AI generated copilot voices or recordings you made for the video? If Ai generated, what training to get system to speak in your voice (like on ground at LGAV) and reconnect to Brindisi ATC?
They were AI generated. The BATC guys asked if they could use my voice as one of the co-pilot voices and I said yes. Just for fun.
I didnt have to do anything at all. Their tech created the voice just from the RUclips videos. Amazing really.
So that was just for you, or can any user have this AI feature to generate their own AI gen copilot responses? Thanks.
I think this is just something the guys at BATC have done (with my permission) and some other content creators as well.
If you're using BATC with VATSIM, kind of makes traffic injection obsolete, doesn't it?

So if we buy the basic version of BeyondATC, we get the basic voices with a one and done purchase. My question is if we have the basic version and use FS traffic for injection will we have those basic voices for FS traffic or is that a premium feature?
FSTraffic is not compatible with BATC as the two are seperate programs.

How does it work with SID alt restrictions, for example i live under one of the sids at egph and practically none of the aircraft stick to the 6000ft restriction. I'm assuming atc clears them higher, will beyond atc do something similar?
I am a very old (80 years) real life pilot ( no longer flying but summing here in Kona Hawaii almost every day) I have been a flight simmer since 1983 (then on a Mac Classic).
I have been elated since discovering the Beyond ATC project. Just tell me where and when to pay---i am in with and down with the program and the Premium voices!

@@DeadSTK1224 Many thanks for that. I'm definitely going to be a first day buyer of BATC and do all of my flying in VR. I was always expecting to have to get some form of VR-friendly note-taking addon, as lengthy clearances and my ageing memory would make them tough to readback, and that would also be useful for Vatsim, when I eventually dip my toes in. :)
It looks like FSDESKTOP might be able to provide that also, as well as allowing for the use of the BATC interface. Result. \o/
This is really interesting. I wonder if you could use FSLTL still to inject the traffic and let the sim's ATC take care of that until BATC releases the rest of the product. Sim's ATC is only activated for your own flight if you use the sim's planner to load the route before the flight, so it shouldn't mess up with the BATC if you don't do that. If FSLTL cannot be used at all for the traffic injection not sure if I'll purchase on release.
Yes you still can use FSLTL/AIG injection. It just has it's life of it's own, like it kind of is now anyway. BATC isn't bothered what else is being injected.

Instead of saying what you said for the taxi instructions, could you have just said 3r via India delta4 with your callsign and it would accept it? I feel like they talked about whether or not you needed to be 100% accurate on readbacks but can't remember what they said
no, you don't need replicate 100% the instruction, that's the beauty in it.
Does the frequency list, when you restart BATC, contain contact points for the whole route or for just part of the journey? For example, if you get close to your destination on a long flight, and there is no Vatsim cover, would the BATC list include the approach and tower frequencies?

On all the videos I've seen showcasing BATC there seems to be an echo or a small amount of reverb on the voices which obviously isn't realistic. I wonder if they are aware.
Do we have to speak to atc ourselves? Or are there any pre-recorded voice that we can use just like how we do atc in MSFS? just click it and get response from beyond atc?

The crossover with VATSIM is great but what about the squawk? Will VATSIM not have an issue with you choosing the squawk
I might be being overly hopeful, but I'd guess that BATC might be adding a settings option, for Vatsim, or other online ATC network users, to allow BATC to retain a Vatsim-assigned squawk code. BATC could perhaps easily shuffle around squawk codes, if an AI aircraft had already had it assigned.

Interesting idea to use the two services together. I guess one issue with using this in conjunction with VATSIM is that if you are logged into the VATSIM network with v-pilot, but out of ATC coverage you are supposed to maintain a listening watch on UniCom (or one of the CTAF frequencies in the states), to advise traffic of your intentions and be able to integrate with ohter VATSIm traffic. I suppose you could be tuned to 122.8 on box 2 for unicom, but what happens when there is a conflict between instructions given by Beyond ATC and other live VATSIM traffic Also if an ATC unit comes online but you have been responding to ATC based on AI traffic (as and when that comes to beyond ATC). Could perhaps lead to some issues.
a controller who comes online will likely expect the free for all to be a bit of a tangle so I'm not sure that's an issue as long as the program switches over to the vatsim frequency at the correct time
