    To those who were asking, I've heard back from Sony on why it chose to compare the Bravia 9 to the X95K and not the X95L in the provided slide. The reply is as below:
    "The X95L was not available in Australia through consumer retail. The BRAVIA 9 is also 50% brighter than the X95L, according to the team's product training brief."

    You say the 9 has better anti-reflection while your side by side comparison shows the opposite at 02:32 where you can see the whole ceiling and back wall reflecting back from the TV on the right. Just sayin.'
    (Yeah, I know. It's because of the camera angle, but if you're making a comparison video you need a more convincing setup.)😛

    • @motivatedtravel
      @motivatedtravel  День назад

      That was actually Sony saying it had better anti-glare and it was their setup, lol. I was at the event and reporting on what they told us. Hopefully I can get a review unit to run my own tests.
      I can say there was one light in the room and it was directly above the Bravia 9 (and office light they couldn't turn off), so that would not have helped.

  • @Swecan76

    How do you miss the "big difference" of zone count? There are a lot more dimming zones on the B9. Kind of a BIG miss on your part there. The 85" B7 has 760 zones. The smaller 75" has 1920 zones.
    That B9 is a 75" since obviously the smallest available in Australia and the B7 is 85". 1:00 so not 85" and 65".

    • @motivatedtravel
      @motivatedtravel  27 дней назад +1

      The Sony representative was very specific about the fact they didn't know the dimming zones or have that as a metric to share. Hence why I left it out.
      We did however manually count it later on using the backing panel as our lead and landed on around 2000 for the B9 75"so that's in line with your thoughts. Where did you get the figure for the B7 dimming zones? I can see some speculation on this, but didn't see anything official?
      Sorry about the size mix-up. It was the Bravia 3 (far left) which was 65".

    • @Swecan76
      @Swecan76 27 дней назад +2

      @@motivatedtravel The B7 zones was more or less confirmed to be 480 for 65" and 600ish for 75" and 760 of the 85" which is actually less than the 864 for the 85" X95L.
      The B9 is 1512, which was confirmed via counting the exposed MiniLEDs and same happened with the 75". The 85" was not and have not still be confirmed I think. But the number has always been 2800-2808 zones. This is partly because Sony themselves listed 325% increase over X95L. So 3.25x864= 2808. The 65" at 1512 is very close to the 3.25x480= 1560. So 1512. Likely because of the 4 MiniLED per zone and the layout and amount of miniLED making it 1512.

    • @motivatedtravel
      @motivatedtravel  27 дней назад +3

      I thought that was interesting, too. They positioned the B9 as the X95 replacement in the presentation. But specifically the X95K, not the X95L. I wish I had picked that up at the time and asked directly. I might sent them an email to ask why.

    • @furballbear
      @furballbear 27 дней назад +3

      @killerinst1ncz308 - You would think the Bravia 7 is the replacement for the X93L and the Bravia 9 is the successor to the X95L. The X90L is being carried over for now.

    • @motivatedtravel
      @motivatedtravel  27 дней назад +1

      @@furballbear You're correct in that the X90L remains part of the 2024 suite. But the slide in the video came directly from Sony, so they are pitching the evolution as X85L to X90L to B7. At least in terms of features.

      @@motivatedtravel No. Don't be silly. It replaces the X95L for crying out loud. The B9 is far more than the X95L. The B7 replaces X95K if anything. Don't get why they have X95K into B9 as example. Did they forget the X95L. This B9 is not some sort of "side grade" to the X95L.

    • @Swecan76
      @Swecan76 27 дней назад +2

      @@motivatedtravel Actually he made it sound like it was very low nits, lol. He said 4,000 lumens which would mean basically only ~1200 nits or so, which would be 500 less than X95L. The reality is after testing at correct D65 level it's around 2800-2900 nits for the B9 and in non accurate vivid mode likely closer to 3200-3400 nits.
      It won't hit the 4,000 nits of the Mastering monitor that is why Sony don't give exact numbers. They just refer to it as being close to mastering monitor in nits/brightness.
