Do you know if there is a reverse to this one? Like an option to "let it stay local" ? I had a few instances where I wanted to access a file only to find our that it has automatically been removed locally.
@@carloborja Not sure mate, would definitely be useful too. But I think there is a lesser necessity than remove from local iCloud. At least I would have less use for it. If you want to keep that file locally, for as long as you access the file relatively frequently it keeps it locally. I have a feeling it was 30 days but I could be wrong.
There are several way to exclude items from iCloud sync: 1) Put the files in a folder named tmp 2) Append the suffix .tmp or .nosync to a file or folder, i.e. myhugetemporarydoc.pdf.nosync 3) You can use the .nosync as infix: i.e. myhugetemporarydoc.nosync.pdf Hope that helps!
@@queendaddy9781 That's alright man, macOs Catalina just came out today. Thanks for the tips. Though, just naming a file .tmp or .nosync will it be interpreted by icloud to not synchronise?
After Catalina and iOS 13, I feel as though my iPhone is now a secondary computer due to how each file system is now streamlined between the two devices... I love it!!!
I'm a Mac/Apple customer going on 27 years. My latest investment was a 2019 21.5" 4K iMac. And I've made a game of figuring out how many iterations backwards I could go and not lose functionality or productivity. Because I am, in many ways, barely using the Mac OS X+ arsenal of bits and bobs.
How stable has Catalina been for you so far? One of my main concerns is with the Photos app properly syncing throughout OS, iOS, and iPad OS. I am looking forward to the iTunes split into a separate app.
Also You will be able to fill in password with you apple watch instead of touch id, very good feature if your using an Desktop mac or using a macbook pro in clamshell mode.
I’m still on 10.12. Features are enticing, but I have been wary to upgrade since because everything just works. Will upgrade when I plan to buy a new Mac in 2021.
This is a major shift life changing even when you've spent time and money to get your device Apped up and become a necessary tool like a ladder, screwdriver, or hammer even only to know now apple wants you to be a subscription number. they've made obsolete apps that cost hundreds of dollars with this update.
First the file only in Icloud feature already exists in itunes. Secondly why the hell would you wanna split music tv shows and podcasts in 3 different apps when you already have it in 1 convinient app that sinks everywhere? Makes no sense and lastly why doesn't anyone cover voice over and accessability features or don't we count?
Everything is so nice but try to restore a device from the Finder when you have already downloaded the IPSW... it won’t let you, not even if you hold Alt+Restore. If the Finder detects a device that needs to be restored it will start downloading the file and you can do nothing to stop it. Gone is the progress bar, gone is the ETR... I’m really going to miss iTunes...
You won’t HAVE to upgrade to Catalina if you don’t want to anytime soon. Mojave (along with iTunes on Mojave) will still be supported and receive security updates for 2 or 3 more years. Just because Apple releases a new OS doesn’t mean you have to download it the day it comes out.
Thanks for sharing, but I just wish you would edit these videos a bit different. Mention the change and then show in the video the change. Edit: Or at least show the change a second behind the speech.
I have MBP 2018 but a bit worried if Catalina is just going to slow down my 2018 macbook Everyone knows that’s part of Apple strategy to keep their customers purchasing the latest products
As far as I know, Apple subjected themselves to many legal ramifiications as a result of doing that. Do as you please, but I have doubts that they would significantly slow down a product that's essentially brand new.
You missed that there are 200% more letter As in the name, and there is now 10,000% more aquaous substance in the Desktop. Easter Eggs are the ability to unlock the Pink Glitter mode and auto spelling everything with a lithp. There is also the new 90db "Thermally Throttling Now!" alert with klaxon (1 decibel for each degree of overheating), which will resolve any lingering issues with the i9 chip. And finally all the deckchairs that weren't moved in Mojave have been moved randomly to future unidentified upgrades.
Apple broken programming of the day: My iPhone rings... I press F8/Play/Pause on my Apple extended keyboard to pause my Apple Music so I can look who is calling and decide if I want to answer the phone... but the F8 key now answered the phone on my MacBook Pro but the music stream coming out of my speaker system is still blaring so the guy on the end of the line is listening to my music and I don't know he's connected to my laptop and can hear me talking. Apples senior advisor tells me that the F8 key now jumps to the last app you were using... but the problem with that is you can't keep track of what the key is operating! More terrible third world programming from Apple.... On the same day.... I sit down to eat dinner and use my iPad Apple Remote App to pause my Apple Music library which is streaming to my Apple TV and out of my Sony TV speakers so I can watch TV while I eat dinner at home. But the Apple Remote App no longer registers my music library and the "now playing" screen has no populated data on it and I have to walk to my office to pause my Apple Music stream. Saturday.... I play a round of golf using Arccos Caddie system using sensors on my golf clubs.... the app only records half my shots... so I call Arccos tech support and they tell me each time Apple sends out a new iOS, they turn off their ability to use the iPhones GPS and accelerometer.... the two items needed to get this 300.00 golf tracking system to work.... "we are running around putting out fires right now trying to get Apple to let us use these systems on the phone... every time they release a new iOS, our system doesn't work any more". And you can expect this with EVERYTHING you try to do with Apple now. Apple's programming gets worse and worse every time they release new software and they almost strong arm you to upgrade to new shitty programming. There is no logical programming going on at Apple and no management capable of stopping bad programming from being released.... why would you prevent your app developers from being able to use the iPhone for their apps.... Why can I not keep track of what my F8 key is controlling? Is this supposed to be a good idea? I submit feedback at Apple about broken items that never get fixed. Yet Apple is releasing programming that breaks current programming... that no one asks for.... that doesn't make sense!
Apple should ASK users what they want, instead of just saying 'We're giving you this, Shut up and suck it......' Not interested in any of these features.
The best features would be firing Tim (Capt) Cook and replacing him with Jony Ive, stop gluing computers together, and get their tentacles out of our private lives.
The right-click 'Remove' from local iCloud feature is sooooo necessary!
Do you know if there is a reverse to this one? Like an option to "let it stay local" ? I had a few instances where I wanted to access a file only to find our that it has automatically been removed locally.
Exactly! I can’t wait for it

Finally something on Catalina, I feel like it’s not been talked about enough. TvOS as well. We’d love to get more updates on them.
u nailed it
Finally a macOS video!
And the catalyst project, brining iPad apps to the Mac, will also bring a lot more to the Mac experience! Can't wait to see what is available :D
After Catalina and iOS 13, I feel as though my iPhone is now a secondary computer due to how each file system is now streamlined between the two devices... I love it!!!
When will this be available according to the internet it says October 4
That sign on iPad feature is awesome! I have full access to my trackpad, but signing with my Apple Pencil is SO much better.
When will Mac OS Catalina be released ?
Hendy Taufik it is
Remove download.......... Can I do that in the Files app on iOS?
Remove download is finally available in iCloud. Awesome.

Just so you know, multitasking already available on Mojave. (by long press green button)
What are you talking about? Multitasking has literally been available since at least Mac OS 8.
What Date is Catalina available to download in September.
How would manage your custom ring tones?
What is that “Pin” option in finder when you right click the file in your example?? Never seen that before
Automatic Light/Dark mode depends on your Night Shift settings
Finally they implemented the macOS apps “Magnet” and “NightOwl” to macOS. Great job…
Where in the “Tones” section that was earlier in the iTunes for synching ringtones with iPhone ?
They removed that feature in the last versions of iTunes
How stable has Catalina been for you so far? One of my main concerns is with the Photos app properly syncing throughout OS, iOS, and iPad OS. I am looking forward to the iTunes split into a separate app.
Not had syncing trouble myself. Your Internet provider maybe?
How about speed performance, is there an improvement? Thank you
@Blimp awesome, thanks friend. I appreciate it. ❤️
that signature feature is very handy
Nice features, although i'm a bit worried about apps with 32 bits code...
What’s that?
Being a Windows user, I've got to admit, the way you can easily manage your phone or tablet right from a Mac........ Is so cool.
hopefully it release as soon as possible
I did everything except for download intego, why?
Because this video is sponsored by intego!
Also You will be able to fill in password with you apple watch instead of touch id, very good feature if your using an Desktop mac or using a macbook pro in clamshell mode.
Good improvements
Looks great, can’t wait for release day
Michael Huerto today
Nice video! Just a quick note, the unsubscribe mail list is already a feature in Mail App, nothing new.
I’m still on 10.12. Features are enticing, but I have been wary to upgrade since because everything just works. Will upgrade when I plan to buy a new Mac in 2021.
Just do a backup, upgrade, and then see if everything still just works. If not, recover from backup.
Thanks!
Now we can multitask easily in Catalina
This is a major shift life changing even when you've spent time and money to get your device Apped up and become a necessary tool like a ladder, screwdriver, or hammer even only to know now apple wants you to be a subscription number.

If the content is good, then I subscribe by my self. There is no need to say please
Woowowow finally having the “remove download feature!

I'm concerned if I can still play Diablo 2 LOD
I see that you enjoy the sounds of Underoath
I just want cover flow back.
Dan, do you see Apple creating a mail service like Gmail?
Steven Cantrell they already have one... you can get an iCloud.com email
Faster and lighter than Sierra? 'Mac retina 2015.'

If you bought a newer MacBook, would you expect Apple to restrict upgrades to keep older macs fast? Didn’t think so....
any device with SSD and 8 gb of ram will be fine.
We 👏 need 👏 a 👏 Safari👏 update 👏
Anyone sees 'Belle Delphine farts in a jar and sends it to.....' ? 😂😂
