I love that there are two desktops in one machine that you can swipe back and forth between (no second monitor needed). I discovered that by accident . Best thing yet !
@@tommyreusse3858 I'm with you. Two monitors is always better to go with especially when working on laptops. Even just having one additional monitor and using the laptop screen as a second is much better than splitting up a single laptop screen.
Lol. Virtual desktops been there from 2007 on Mac, called "spaces"..and linux had them already 1996 when KDE desktop environment was announced. Windows got them not until windows 10?
To my knowledge, the globe view in Maps is restricted to M1 Macs. Not sure if other Monterey features are also restricted to M1 Macs, but this should be mentioned.
thanks for the tips! one question, the transition between desktops (4 finger side slide) is a bit slower, how to fasten it? I use to fast slide and immediately execute commands in the app open in the next desktop, but as transition is slow the action takes place in the previous desktop, so it's a waste of time more than a quick workflow
They are changing the procedures all the time and wasting everyones time once everybody has learned how to use old procedures. Real over the top Apple!
The download arrow thing isn’t popping up on my safari for my Air - and the show downloads tab is sadly grayed out as well. On Monterey for the update. Any solutions? I’m so confused on how to fix it :// love the video !
I’m facing a problem in changing my preference settings in finder, i chose to open the download folder by default and search the current folder instead of the whole mac by default, however these settings does not apply even though it’s already selected !! My finder keeps opening a random folder by default called “searching this mac”. Also when i try to search for a something it stiil searches the whole mac! I can’t find a solution for that! I would be so happy if you help me solve this issue.
Can someone please explain to me why the space bar is being all wonky? I've always loved using the space bar to start and stop videos I am watching. But now, it only works half the time. Other times it creates different desktops for me. Other times it makes rectangles appear in random places around my screen. What the hell? Also, what the hell is up with this crazy large trackpad that does nothing but get in the way? Not to mention I have to completely reposition my hand any time I want to double click something on the bottom right hand corner. I also can't seem to highlight a line when I tap, it will only highlight one word or nothing. Is there a tutorial anywhere that walks you through spacebar/trackpad specific issues on the new mac? I'm feeling hella disappointed. I was sooo looking forward to this mac bc it seemed like an editors dream come true. Bit these little things going on with the spacebar and trackpad are driving absolutely insane :(

I am running the most up to date macOS Monterey but in the Safari preferences, I don't have that option to "Show color in Tab Bar" What's up with that? Safari and macOS both updated yet I'm seeing something different than what is being shown in this video. My Safari can only show the gray top, compact or not. I also don't have the "Automatic" option drop down box for Low Power Mode like he does. Mine is just s a simple on or off check box for Low Power Mode.
Zach, I had same issue, I didn't see the option for showing the color, I found it. Go to the "Advanced Tab" to the far right, and you'll see the option listed under accessories.
My USB hubs aren't working after the Monterey update, now I can't use my mouse and usb keyboard... Does anyone know any way to fix this? I regret upgrading the OS so much I didn't know it has such issue.
yeah this is a hard lesson for you. DONT update your macos until at least a year later. that way the patches that fix things and then the patches to fix things those patches broke have all be written.

I called Apple Support about upgrading my 2018 MacBook Pro and was told it was “safe” - then the install “bricked” the machine - at first the Apple Store told me I would have to pay $600 the fix the machine but a follow up with Apple Support verified that I had called and gone over the Build, Storage (130GB) and Admin privileges… are replacing my machine. CALL 1st!!!

The fact is that this crap system does make our machine slower. I can no longer use VS Code and google meet with screen sharing because the machine is in slow motion. Stop that rainbownization crap, and get the OS working at least. I have a MacBook PRO(!) with 16 RAM and everything worked fine so far. Now I need a downgrade to continue working with the computer.

I personally prefer the compact tabs in safari. It looks cleaner and doesn’t remove any functionality for me
I use Firefox now because it has those narrow tabs. It's just that Safari's tabs don't look (or feel?) like tabs.

Full of installation bugs. Took 4 days and still didn't install after i wiped my HD! Not worth the risk.
