As usual, great review Tom. Detailed, informative, real world assessment that includes the typical humorous tidbits and doesn't take life or cars, too seriously. Love it.
You have to wonder if the complexity of a vehicle, at some point, exceeds the ability of the service infrastructure, much less, its owner, to maintain it. I suspect, with vehicles like this, we've arrived. Maybe the next wave will feature minimalist cars that take us back to roll-up windows!
My thoughts exactly. The fancy features will probably be pretty reliable for the first one or two owners, but eventually they will start to break, turning cars like this into a giant money pit. The guy who buys this formerly $150k car for $20k in 7 or 8 years won't be able to afford to fix those things.
@@scottkempton6085 BMW isn't selling vehicles to the 3rd owner. They're also not interested in selling vehicles to those who can't afford to repair them.
The front looks like a when you see a fly’s face under a microscope. Very ugly. Also this car is very tall which makes it awkward. But where they did they homework is in that interior, simply gorgeous and futuristic.
Thanks for the beautifully produced review. It's nice to see there are still a few vehicles being sold that aren't SUVs or Trucks. Even if they are expensive. Regardless, I always enjoy the work you and Martin create.
Tom, I am thrilled, I repeat THRILLED 🥳🥳🥳🥳by the traditional sedan side profile and form displayed by the new 7 Series. This is not a silly, CLS-style coupe-sedan, this is a real SEDAN with full rear legroom and honest to goodness headroom for passengers in the back. 👏👏👏👏 Did I mention being thrilled?🤔 I hope 🤞🤞and pray 🙏🙏this starts a trend of real sedans coming back to the market.
It’s a great driving car no doubt I just hate this trend of “ugly acceptance of false beauty” I can see this aging Like the Acura TL beak. ( has its fans / following ) but overall the other years to avoid like the bangle.
This is a pretty car, but I don't think I will ever want to spend that much (even the base price) on a car. Thanks for always being fun and enjoyable to watch Tom.
I have been fortunate enough to have owned 6 of these in the past but I don't think I will get a 7th. Why are they getting bigger and longer? The front of this car also looks like it is wearing a mask. I think the 5 series (once it is updated like this 7) or the new Benz E class are the right size for me. Great review!
A TESLA IS PACKED with luxury and tech... NOT a BMW. A BMW is packed with very oldschool outdated technologies that rather belong in an old electric public transport bus, and with ever cheaper, trashier materials that feel anything but luxury. The UX is laughable, like 12 years behind even the oldest, 19 year old Tesla. The interior design is stuck in the 90ies, the exterior design is like a FrankenStein student project that tries to hide all its bulky technological flaws in the ugliest possible way. SHAMEFUL.
you can read a spec, sheet and you do understand at least materials, do you? :D Not expecting you to be a car designer nor a design engineer, but thost two things you are capable of at least? hahah@@DrivenCarReviews
Your camera is out of focus. But then, your video show viewers that the 31 inch theater screen in the rear seat, isn't confined to the 'Electric' i7. Maybe BMW, will correct the rear view mirror design oversight, and put a 'digital' rear view mirror in the 2024-2025 model. Anyway, thank you for a very entertaining look at the BMW 760i sedan.
It's the flagship BMW. So, while expensive(!), it's "worth it". Beautiful interior with every amenity and then some. However, the exterior styling continues the horrendous trend of the German brands for many years now. I despise over-the-top, in-your-face styling in general but especially on a luxury car. That grille is disgusting like every other Beemer since 2015.
I find it incredible that a rear camera isn’t integrated into the rear view mirror. For god’s sake, my $50K RAV4 has that feature plus any number of Chevy pickups. Perhaps you just didn’t know how to turn it in Tom? And sound proofed glass is an option?!! Good thing I can’t afford such nonsense.

I have been enjoying your reviews for some time now (I think 4 or 5 years) This is not the exception, great job. Personally I don't love the BMW design language of their latest offerings. Very gangsta style for my taste. I understan that's what is selling in Asia and the Middle East but is not for me. Cool ride, though.
The LS doesn't really compare anymore and the G90 doesn't either when you're looking at a V8 760i. Other than the brief CT6 the Americans never made anything like this.
Great review, but my god BMWs are so ugly. Merc is declining in design too, sadly Audi despite still looking good (yet a bit dated) lags behind in handling and performance.
I am wowed by this thing. It’s more of a museum piece. I think we’ve seen the last of this breed, and this may be one of the final straws so to speak. I just can’t believe how expensive it is. It used to be that the seven series was even within reach of the not so ultra wealthy. not the case anymore. The market for this has got to be so small. As you say, it’s probably a chauffeur car. Excellent review. Thanks for making me continue to see the world with wonder. The mighty SUV will wipe this out.
@jlcornish Almost every product video has comments complaining about how expensive the products are / how poor the commenter is. Yours is the first I’ve seen that laments how the 5% can no longer afford a top tier luxury car.
Why is it that a person buy’s 7series. It’s because they want a luxury car. Not true, there are those of us who are true car guys. I don’t care for an suv. My desire is a long wheel base road sedan. For one who spends a large amount of time driving. I prefer the ride of something that is no a truck. I am a car guy and prefer nothing else.

I have seen a resurgence in luxury sedans lately. I think maybe 4 of my neighbors have bought the new S-Class in the last few months, I even have one that has an EQS, and the new S-Class. There are several i7s running around too, one of my tenants has one and I got to check it out and it is amazing, especially that back screen. I used to have S-Classes but I have to tow things so not practical anymore but if I was to get another luxury sedan I think I would go BMW this time, the new S-Class just leaves me kind of cold, really doesn't have that presence to me.
I like that you and Martin drive/video in an upscale automobile in an upscale neighborhood. Beautiful homes, landscaping, and cars. The only question that I have Tom, is regarding the driver's rear view being blocked when the 31 inch screen is lowered. Did BMW not put one of those trick rear view mirrors that becomes a video screen for the rear facing camera? It would be a terrible omission in a luxury automobile like this. It should have one, and it should automatically turn on when the screen is lowered.
Regarding the big american luxury sedans, Cadillac does still make the big CT6 albeit only in China now. The American Lucid Air (whilst the size of the 5-Series on the outside) has competitive interior room to full-size luxury sedans like the 7-Series and S-Class on the inside.
