Phenomenal review as always Tom! Really love what Cadillac has done with the Lyriq - even before you stated it, I felt the interior aesthetics evoked the late 70’s Cadillacs I rode in as a young child, especially that steering wheel. I love how they’ve (supposedly) pulled from that era, similarly to Lincoln’s current interiors, giving the “true American luxury” vibe. Now I’m anxiously awaiting the Celestiq prototype as the sneak peak photos look to drastically up the ante.
A very, very, impressive design. Period. Gorgeous. Caddy's design language has been really good lately and this is the best example to date. Looks fabulous from all angles. Seems like GM is on a roll with EVs right now. The Hummer, the Silverado and now this, I hope they all succeed and they probably will. Poor little Bolts and Volts just don't get the respect (or sales) they deserve. The Bolt EUV should be on everyone's shopping list if they are in the market for an 'entry-level' EV. Just wish they made it will AWD.
Cadillac LYRIQ is a Garbage COMPLIANCE vehicle. too SLOW, too HEAVY and INEFFICIENT , also too Short RANGE. Its just another EV from gm that will catch FIRE & EXPLODE in your Driveway.
@@markplott4820 Guess which company makes the Ultium battery? The same company that manufactured the Bolt and Kona EVs' batteries. I have no confidence in LG batteries anymore - the way they pointed the finger, at first, Hyundai, then at GM was disgusting for a battery defect due to manufacturing it. I now own the top of the line Ioniq 5 AWD which is a better deal than the Lyriq. I couldn't help but notice that when they demoed closing the charging door using the button, the whole compartment was moved by that push - not good. I do actually like the interior/exterior looks along with the charging speed. I'd wait a year to see what bugs come out of the wood work. No, but it's fine. The single motor Lyric is not slow. 0-60 is 6 seconds. The dual motor will be 4.9 which is pretty quick. No, it's no Plaid, but not everybody wants that. Great review of a very impressive car. I learned to drive in a Sedan De Ville (1966) and am now on my third Escalade. I love the Escalade, and for a large SUV it is relatively efficient at 18.5 mpg average over 69k miles. So great to see Cadillac unleashed in the Lyriq. I recently went to a PHEV for daily transport and considered an ELR very seriously. Beautiful car, but really only a two-seater. Shifted to the second gen Volt and was closing in on one when I discovered the Honda Clarity. Ended up with a lightly used Touring version. The Clarity is built on the Accord platform, so it has a big back seat and trunk. Where we live (rural Rochester, MN) the gasoline motor gives me peace of mind with an undeveloped charging infrastructure and cold weather a good part of the year. Thanks for the review!
Not a GM person generally or a Cadillac person specifically but I would BUY this! Pricing is competitive and the design is outstanding. (Thanks for the review Tom!)

Placed a deposit on this....I also like the GV60 but neither is currently an option in Texas....time will tell. I've been driving EV only for 9 years. So much progress so quickly. Started at 80 miles range....now over 300.
I took delivery of the GV60 Premium (229 bhp RWD) in the UK just last week. With all the options bar digital wing mirrors ( not my thing) it truly is a luxurious vehicle - Nappa Leather and suede interior (even the head lining is suede ) and quality switch gear (if it looks like metal it is metal) all on the E-GMP platform so blistering charging with heat pump and battery conditioning. However at 4.515m long it’s smaller I suspect than the Lyriq though I haven’t looked up the Lyriq’s dimensions yet. I think comparisons to the Kia EV6 and Ionic 5 are a little unfair - they are not premium brands like Cadillac or Genesis and a £5K to £7K premium on a £50K vehicle if it’s not going on the drive train gets you a lot of creature comforts. In the UK the RWD 229bhp 19” wheel Fully loaded GV60 is only £4K more than the AWD 314 bhp 20” wheel Kia EV6- that drop in drive train and £4K hike in price puts you in an all together another level of luxury! When you get in an optioned out GV60 you simply go “Wow!” and in the UK that is at sub £60K! Of note the GV60 gets 3 level heated rear seats over the Lyriq. And its light tricks include the Genesis logo projected puddle lights and reverse lights which project dotted white lines on the road behind the vehicle. Such an interesting time in the EV market if you can get one. I highly recommend exhibitions and shows to try and secure your EV early. Farnborough’s Fully Charged UK Live 2022 show end of April 2022 afforded me my opportunity. (Just 8 weeks to get a pre-spec’d model which luckily matched what I was after)!
CATL (world's largest battery maker) have announced a new type of battery already in EVs for testing. It won't be Lithium Ion but will be capable of 600 miles, lighter, fastest charging speed, can handle staying at 100% and can handle -20 temps without range loss. Totally different ways of handling the heat and cold dissipation ... you name it. All due to be supplied to well=known EV manufacturers in 2023. If I was looking for an EV, I'd be waiting one more year. It'll blow the doors off the competition. CATL are a company known for making battery announcements that really happen when they say it will. If GM have done so yet, they should become one of CATL's leading partners. Edit: These are Sodium-Ion batteries - yes, good, old salt.
Tom, I’m with you on the rear wiper. They need testing in the pacific n/w… Nice caddie. I’m rooting for Cadillac. Yours still looks amazing today. Good deal or not!
AWD definitely the way to go on this car at the price, but were it me, I would get the 2024 model (starting production first half 2023) as you will have more options, and some surprises, compared to the 2023 model year.
As a European I am happy to see American car makers staring to focus also on quality, not just price. The American Way of Design has not yet been properly utilized, so it's good to see GM finally moving towards that aim.
Another fun fact. The traditional "driver's set up" we experience in every car we drive, was pioneered by Cadillac (I think in the mid 1920s). When you get in any car, the steering wheel is in front, and to accelerate the "gas pedal" is the right pedal. The brake pedal is to the left of that. The clutch pedal (if equipped with manual transmission) is to the left of the brake. The shifter is also to the right (floor mounted, console mounted or column mounted). Cadillac was the first one to have what we would today consider a normal configuration and every brand followed that design later. If you are unsure what I mean, go watch a video how you drive a Model T. It's not like driving any other car. It's likely that if you had one, no one could steal it since no one would know how to drive it. Manufacturers all went with the Cadillac design so you could easily drive any vehicle since they are operate in a similar manner.
@@DrivenCarReviews Yes, and what you said was bang on. If this was just a Chevy with a fancy grill, it would have been shameful. Kudos to GM to make something special here, and it seems like they really nailed it. It's easy to make an awesome $200,000 EV, but to make something great that is more attainable is a challenge, and it looks like they hit out of the park.
I’m not sure if Sandy covered this or not, but you can move controls like the glove box button to the main screen on the shortcut menu that’s always present on the screen shown at 15:48.
I'm here for the numbers. Will this be the new face of Cadillac? Is the Escalade going to have to evolve with these regulations? And most importantly, is this the baby Escalade we didnt know we needed?
Thank you for noticing caddy has gone mid century modern inside I noticed it with the Escalade and surprised no one else has really mentioned it. Interesting design direction with modern tech.
I know it's a little thing, but why does the charge door open with a lurch and flop? Why not smooth? The little things matter when you want to be the top dog. Also just put a release on the glove box!
Great video and impressive vehicle. I agree that the only odd design choice is the exterior door handles. They seem to add a lot of unnecessary complexity and even weight. The Lyriq price/value equation is fantastic. Let’s see what the 2024 model year brings. Hopefully, GM can ramp up production to meet demand, and dealers don’t price gouge.
I think "They seem to add a lot of unnecessary complexity and even weight." might be incorrect. I have worked on a lot of car doors -- from back in the day when windows cranked to 2020's. Electrification of door functions has reduced door mass and allows for design updates and ease of installation, that could only be dreamed of in the mechanical days. Not to mention the improvements in aerodynamics by smoothing the handles. Tesla has conventional door handles, that are pulled in at speed. Talk about complex! Door handles are just one of the hundred things Tesla changed that were nearly insignificant individually -- but added up to a big improvement in aerodynamics. Cadillac is going through the same process I think, but one upping Tesla with a door that can be opened with your hands full. I love this design feature.
This actually seems to be a WAY better buy than the Tesla Model Y, especially the long range model. This car is better priced, has more storage, seems to have better fit, finish, and quality, but just doesn't have the acceleration figures which get old after awhile.
@@igeekone yep, we went to check out the Mercedes EQS 450+ 6 months ago and the dealer wants $30K markup. Ioniq 5 and EV6 markups range from $5-6K as of today. This is the SF Bay Area. Pure insanity and I don’t need an EV that bad.
@@jml9550 Again, this ain’t Hyundai, KIA, nor Mercedes-Benz. Cadillac has already sold plenty of Lyriqs with dealerships charging MSRP. There are plenty of dealerships in the U.S. selling at and around the suggested retail price.
The only issue I noticed after watching the reviews is a total lack of a front end bumper. I doubt this car will not be severely damaged (several thousand dollars in damage) after a five MPH collision with another car or rigid object. Lots of electronics buried into that front end.
I’m getting the Lyriq. I don’t know whether to trade in, or self-sell, or keep my 2014 ELR which is just like yours (although mine is red). We take several long road trips (5k miles round-trip) and having to find charging on some of our trips is not possible (Mexico, Alaska) where the ELR can shine compared to the Lyriq. Fortunately we have a Volt that can sub for the ELR on those trips where I would love to take the Lyriq but can’t. I don’t even mind longer charge times but just not as long as required for 110v.
Currently own a Cadillac (ICE) and enjoy it. However, there is an aspect that I loathe: Cadillac dealerships. I reside in Southern California, thereby having a wider selection of dealerships, but they all are incompetent and out of touch on one level or another. My wife and I love the Lyriq, but until GM does something with their dealerships to meet today’s needs, and gets rid of the ones that have simply been around far too long…well…until then we are currently considering others brands. Too bad.
Yes, just cant find them anywhere. Went out today to 3 different dealers and they all say out of stock and no specific date for delivery. One dealer said 6-9 months. Who waits that long for a car? WTF??
Thanks for the review, Tom, learned more about the Lyriq in this one review than all the others put together. I love the look, inside and out, and the value is definitely there. I am having trouble putting a deposit on a vehicle I haven't been able to see and drive in person, and for a "way in the future" date! Like this vehicle a lot, but will probably buy another vehicle I can actually drive before purchase. Too old-fashioned I guess!
This was a great review. I watch a lot of car reviews and I enjoyed yours so much I immediately subscribed. The Lyriq looks nice though it is a little too big for my taste. I think people would be insane to buy the currently available RWD model instead of waiting for the AWD model to come out in 2023. The AWD will be more powerful and from what I understand, only cost an additional $2K.
Great review Tom. As others have said, best review of Lyriq and I have read/watched them all. I too had an ELR which I actually liked better than my other car, a Tesla S. I gave it to my ex when we parted...big mistake (giving the ELR). Still one of the prettiest designs on the road. I am a current Model 3 owner who was thinking about a Y but will sell the model 3 when my ordered 2024 Lyriq arrives. I liked the minimalist interior of the 3 but it is budget rental noisy on the highway and the back seats aren't comfortable. At what Tesla is currently charging for the Y the Lyriq is a no brainer. Re: electric sports car from GM, I also have a reservation for the hybrid C8 Corvette and GM has hinted that the full EV version may come sooner than we think. The EV hate on the Corvette forum is hysterical (literally).
I've seen a couple of C8 Corvettes and sorry, but although they no doubt perform very well they look like boy racer pseudo supercars. Similar layout cars like the Audi A8 don't. (I know, the Corvette is significantly cheaper but the looks have nothing to do with that.) Face it, a big (or entire) reason someone buys a car like that is to look cool, and to me the C8 makes you look the opposite.
@emjayay. Perhaps you buy a car to look cool but I couldn't care less what you or anyone else thinks about my ride. I buy cars to drive and I'll be seeing you in the rear view mirror of my "pseudo supercar". Btw I think you mean Audi R8 and not the A8 sedan.
Thanks Tom, great review. I may be the only person who thinks the styling of the Lyriq is fussy and over-blown but I am pleased to see Cadillac trying harder. The Hyundai Ioniq 6 is a much cleaner look. I found the Lyriq lighting show kind of embarrassing- more geared to 12 year old boys than owners. But they must have researched what many owners want. I also agree that having to delve into a menu to open a glove box is off-putting. It's going to take ages for it to come to Auckland NZ in right-hand-drive version . I watch all your podcasts anyway & i too used to live in Duluth MN!.
I had a chance to sit in the Lyriq RWD. It was optioned the same as my preorder: Satin Steel Metallic with white interior. I am absolutely excited for it, but today: December 24th 2022 I've heard NOTHING about my order and I'm still waiting patiently as my trade-in Jeep SRT's value slowly depreciates while the Federal Reserve slowly raises interest rates. The Lyriq, to me is a more refined XT5 built as an EV. GM needs to also make an EV out of the XT6 in order to have a market hit (3rd row to get big sales).
The front and rear-end light show belong in Las Vegas. Which, if you think about it, is kind of Cadillac's happy place. But it's priced aggressively, made with good materials and offers good specs and performance. If the marque survives it should do well. Still not sure about the longevity of pouch cells, though; they swell and shrink during charge/recharge, and all that movement inside the battery containment structure can create issues with abrasion, leakage, and wiring. Tesla's hard cells seem to last pretty well. Will the Lyriq's? Time will tell.
It could get by on looks alone.....and I reserved one. It doesn't lead in too many categories like speed of charging, but it is a great first effort for a BEV from Caddy and priced well below the luxury competition. I'm a little concerned about the lack of a front bumper. I'm very pleased with my 2013 Volt, so I'm confident that GM can build a fine EV. I might even flip it! Is $95k too much do ask for a 500 HP AWD elec-trick Caddy?
The lack of a rear window washer could be an issue but should't be given the rear view mirror camera. Every vehicle should have that feature. I wish other manufacturers would adopt the Kia feature which displays the side view mirror view on the driver console. The dual motor version will be a beast.
I own the top of the line Ioniq 5 AWD which has the blind spot cameras view displayed right on the screen; I never use it and prefer just looking. Same with the auto lane change feature, less complicated to do it yourself.
Amazing Job, Cadillac. Futuristic styling, beautiful interior with high-quality materials, and innovation. This is great for Cadillac, a brand that’s been struggling for decades. The LYRIQ is the beginning of a new era for Cadillac. This is the lowest end trim of the Cadillac LYRIQ. There will be more trims coming soon, which will be more expensive and similar to the concept.
Love the lyriq!! But how much did it cost to replace the battery pack in the ELR? Prices are starting to come down again and now that they are a few years older I’m thinking I would have to replace the battery sooner than later.
The 12V battery cost me $240 (it's a special battery). The drive pack battery is still under warranty and is nearly the same capacity as new after 7 years.
Ooooh - I like their idea of a progressive recouperation paddles. We probably won’t get this car here in Europe, but hey. And I really like the styling. Good to hear that one fits into it with 6ft5. MCM? NOW I’m sold…
I wish that you'd shown us how the audio and climate controls work, and how you cut out the light from the pano glass roof... Otherwise a very interesting and useful review...
While watching Tom drive the Lyriq I found Henry's demeanor in the test ride interesting; was he just tired? or just tired of comments like "it handles pretty well" which is a pretty Meh comment. Honestly, his statement that " there's enough here in terms of jewelry, that it's definitely a luxury vehicle..." (22:30) wasn't exactly inspiring, it was more of an off handed compliment. I've heard similar comments when describing modern Corvette's and their shortcomings to meet their requirements as a value proposition, not the best they could be. Honestly, its pretty clear that Cadillac incorporated some pretty meh normal car stuff into this car then disguised it in an interesting wrapper. While I don't believe Tesla vehicles are perfect, what they do well is incorporate truly inspiring and significantly new driver experiences by taking chances. Why not have a wrap around windshield (Cadillac) that removes the traditional roofline over the drivers head and opens it all up? To this day driving a Tesla is such a leap from a normal ICE car that it makes your current car feel like a dinosaur instantly, how many cars can say that and its been that way for years. The Lyriq seems like an EV for hesitant EV buyers who have been waiting for a design to inspire them, but don't want to be overwhelmed by too much too soon. I honestly think its a great looking car, and that's the major appeal that's leaned on. It wouldn't be the first eye catching Meh car Cadillac has ever built recently. On the other hand, Tesla flips that and builds a Meh looking car that blows you away with technology. Which one do you think drivers really want? I wonder if GM is struggling with not allowing a big EV splash to outshine every other car they make too quickly. Every Cadillac i've ridden in lately always seems like its about 30% overpriced compared to the quality of the finished product you start noticing a month after purchase.
Why the surround view camera is not there? Not even as an option! The HUD is very limited. The door handles takes the Mustang Mach-E approach, very much not luxury. Front end design can be perceived as controversial with those fake side vents. Otherwise a great improvement inside, finally.

I work at a dealership, almost no customers ever use their rear washer or wiper. I’m not one of them but I wouldn’t really care if they took it away either.
@@andybub45 well yea, that's the real reason, not because they figured out how to get it to magically stay clean. I think it's going to be depend entirely on where you live. There's no where in Colorado to keep your rear glass from staying dust/dirt free unless you never leave central Denver
This should be a good and interesting review, I am looking forward to enjoying it with my morning coffee.
@@markplott4820 Elon called your on the schedule for boot licking.
@@markplott4820 thanks for watching!
This should be analyzed by Munroe to see what you're truly getting.
@@markplott4820 LG messed up one in a million cells, but they can't stay in business with that. They had to fix it. There will be hundreds of thousands of vehicles rolling around with their new cells. We will know soon. I have a 2018 Tesla Model 3 dual motor. It has a epa range of 310 miles. Is it Lucid. No, but it's fine. The single motor Lyric is not slow. 0-60 is 6 seconds. The dual motor will be 4.9 which is pretty quick. No, it's no Plaid, but not everybody wants that. This thing should be smooth, quiet, and comfortable.
This is one of the very few Channels I know that produce and post 2K/4K 60 FPS videos, it's saw pleasing to watch definitely keep it out, while everyone else just post basic 1080p no HDR or 60FPS.
Oh and cool car. Cadillacs prices tho.
What I like best about the Cadillac Lyric is that it does not look like a gussied up Chevy or GMC. It looks like a real Cadillac.
Great to see Tom hitting a 170k subs, hopefully not to long before the 200,000, very well deserved.
This is a really good car for the money. Cadillac did a great job 👏
I have watched almost every Lyriq first-drive review. And your is my fav! I like that you have another knowledgeable reviewer with you; so there are back & forth, pro & cons, and feedbacks.
Thanks David!
Can’t wait to see one in person!
They need testing in the pacific n/w…
Nice caddie. I’m rooting for Cadillac.
Yours still looks amazing today. Good deal or not!
Thanks Tom, Look forward to hear more about driving dynamics and cabin comfort.
I will have all of that
@@DrivenCarReviews Beautiful review, thouorulghy enjoyed. I hold a debut edition reservation, looking forward for the drive
One of most comprehensive video of the Lyriq to date! Excellent video!
I have a deposit down on the AWD version. Dealer said expect early Spring 2023. Looking forward to your "Driven" review.
AWD definitely the way to go on this car at the price, but were it me, I would get the 2024 model (starting production first half 2023) as you will have more options, and some surprises, compared to the 2023 model year.
@@dmitchellhomes If there are some really compelling options and "surprises" on the 2024 model I just can't live without; I can just trade it in.
This "no spare tire" trend needs to stop, what am I supposed to do in the middle of nowhere?
6:50 never seen an entire car BODY flex so much from tapping a button on the side. I'm speechless.
As a European I am happy to see American car makers staring to focus also on quality, not just price. The American Way of Design has not yet been properly utilized, so it's good to see GM finally moving towards that aim.
I am super happy to see Americans being innovative in the automotive space. GM really is iconicly American.
This is true. Also, the enclosed weathertight cabin. And auto climate control
Highly informative as well as entertaining. It seems I'll have to LIVE a couple of more years to get in line to buy one.😊
Look again, you'll see the whole compartment move when the button is pushed - that's not a good sign either.
Very impressed with the ui and how fast it is. GM was smart to go to Google for the whole software setup
Would love to hear Henrys opinion of the interior on his Model 3 if hes complaining about this Lyriqs dash
Not disappointed and sort of expected to be. It is NOT “Cadillacky”, much better. Getting in line. Thank You, Tom!!!!

Wow wireless charging! Great job General Motors!
Fine looking machine. Great review 👏

Yes you can
This actually seems to be a WAY better buy than the Tesla Model Y, especially the long range model. This car is better priced, has more storage, seems to have better fit, finish, and quality, but just doesn't have the acceleration figures which get old after awhile.
AWD will be significantly faster than the rear drive models.
I don’t think there is a modern GM product that looks better than this vehicle. Home run design inside and out.
it will burst into flames or half the electronics won't work lol
When I think that for the same price you get a very very bad Tesla! Amazing car, way to go Cadi!
This is the only lyriq I will watch. Thanks Tom nice one as usual
I'm surprised at the price. Looks way more expensive than it is. Way to go Cadillac.
The problem is they won’t build enough and dealers are gonna demand $20K markup on it.
@@jml9550 Exactly, extremely limited supply for the foreseeable future means massive dealer markups for the foreseeable future.
@@mybro727 sure, not in the SF Bay Area though. Every EV and hybrid in stock commands $2-6K markup.
The only issue I noticed after watching the reviews is a total lack of a front end bumper. I doubt this car will not be severely damaged (several thousand dollars in damage) after a five MPH collision with another car or rigid object. Lots of electronics buried into that front end.
Wow this is a very impressive looking car!!
My body is ready
Is this the same platform that acura is also using for their all new electric car?
I love it, but I also can't wait to see what Honda/Acura does with this platform.
@@titaniumspecial4207 You do know they will be using this platform to build at least two vehicles.
Is this a ground up EV or adapted from an ice chassis ?
Currently own a Cadillac (ICE) and enjoy it. However, there is an aspect that I loathe: Cadillac dealerships. I reside in Southern California, thereby having a wider selection of dealerships, but they all are incompetent and out of touch on one level or another. My wife and I love the Lyriq, but until GM does something with their dealerships to meet today’s needs, and gets rid of the ones that have simply been around far too long…well…until then we are currently considering others brands. Too bad.
I hope the upcoming XT5 will have this lovely interior
Yes, it really needs an upgrade.
Cadillac has been reborn every 5 years for the last 30 years to be honest. This one seems like the best 'reborn' yet
Just received a Lyriq waited a year but was worth the wait, had a Tesla model X, and the Lyriq handles better than my Tesla, I am really impressed
Is this a rear or AWD model?
As an ELR owner as well, looking forward to the upcoming sedan version soon!
Wow, AWESOME AND COMPREHENSIVE review Tom!! Very well done!!
Thank for you review. Yes you did cover everything and it is now on my list to replace my Escalade.
This machine is a gem.
FYI, by the end of the year, every dealership should have a drivable demo.
Great to know, Tom! The more I see and read about this vehicle the more positive I am feeling.
Was it as quiet in the back seat as well?
This was a great review. I watch a lot of car reviews and I enjoyed yours so much I immediately subscribed. The Lyriq looks nice though it is a little too big for my taste. I think people would be insane to buy the currently available RWD model instead of waiting for the AWD model to come out in 2023. The AWD will be more powerful and from what I understand, only cost an additional $2K.
I prefer the RWD. Don’t need 500hp with faster battery consumption.
I am 80......Highly experienced and believe it to be exceptional.............Paul
The Hyundai isn't really a competitor for this car; it's a $40,000 low end EV.
I'm also curious as to why you must have moonroof. Why is Cadillac (and others) only offering some type of glass roof?
Listen to Henry on Autoline, always interesting a petrolhead and EV enthusiast. Looking forward to seeing a sedan version of a Caddie EV.
This is the EV lux car to beat for 2023.
The back of this looks like the front of an escape pod. Where ya going with that design?
Is the light sequence at the beginning of the video going to be on the production Lyriq?
That is the production Lyriq
I liked the collab with Mr Payne 💪
I like the look. Great presentation guys.
Best review of the lyric on RUclips
It could get by on looks alone.....and I reserved one. It doesn't lead in too many categories like speed of charging, but it is a great first effort for a BEV from Caddy and priced well below the luxury competition. I'm a little concerned about the lack of a front bumper. I'm very pleased with my 2013 Volt, so I'm confident that GM can build a fine EV. I might even flip it! Is $95k too much do ask for a 500 HP AWD elec-trick Caddy?
Do ANY E-SUVs have 40-20-40 folding rear seats?
What an honest and non-biased review lol

Stunning car!! Cadi did a wonderful job with the Lyriq. My next car is the Chev Equinox EV, to join my Volt, which I love.
Great detailed review
Curious to see how that front end grille holds up on highways with flying rocks and pebbles everywhere.
Good video Tom!! I liked the dueling reviewing! Was cool to have a 2nd opinion!
Sweet! Somehow my analytics show old people's reactions to new/old people cars.
There will be more trims coming soon, which will be more expensive and similar to the concept.
mindblowing gamechanging!
Love the lyriq!! But how much did it cost to replace the battery pack in the ELR? Prices are starting to come down again and now that they are a few years older I’m thinking I would have to replace the battery sooner than later.
He replaced the 12v, not the high-voltage drive battery
The 12V battery cost me $240 (it's a special battery). The drive pack battery is still under warranty and is nearly the same capacity as new after 7 years.
Battery chemistry is quite the mouthful.
Ooooh - I like their idea of a progressive recouperation paddles. We probably won’t get this car here in Europe, but hey.
And I really like the styling. Good to hear that one fits into it with 6ft5. MCM? NOW I’m sold…
Lyriq is coming to Europe
I wish that you'd shown us how the audio and climate controls work, and how you cut out the light from the pano glass roof... Otherwise a very interesting and useful review...
Did they ever comment on how May 18/19 preorders will be processed?
While watching Tom drive the Lyriq I found Henry's demeanor in the test ride interesting; was he just tired? or just tired of comments like
"it handles pretty well" which is a pretty Meh comment.
And the key to the mad Ness what service center can repair any codes? Who and when are they teaching Techinans to service this specialty vehicle?
Why the surround view camera is not there? Not even as an option! The HUD is very limited. The door handles takes the Mustang Mach-E approach, very much not luxury. Front end design can be perceived as controversial with those fake side vents. Otherwise a great improvement inside, finally.
