I can only imagine how confused you are reading these comments if you haven’t watched the whole video 😭😭
to those who watched as long as you did: THANK YOU. I’m blown away by the love this video has gotten. Guess we’ll have to make more 🙂
Please, I’ll watch them all
how does this compare to a model s in comfort
I need a hand sanitizer spraying road trip assistant, too.
what happened to it? did it ran out of juice?
Advice from a BMW Owner.
The car turns off for safety reasons (theft), if you have passengers in the car just simply scroll & press “precondition” on the screen when the car turns off. This starts the engine back up with a/c or heat, but won’t engage drive without a key present.
@16:37 or you can just hold down “distance control” and save it to your shortcuts. Once saved, all you have to do is swipe down from the top of the screen and click that option.
@21:00 Assistance plus doesn’t work on backroads.
@21:13 just use the scroll wheel to change the gauge layout.
advice from the expert! love it, thanks!
@@TopherDrives no worries. I’ve been dealing with iDrive since iDrive 3. They are definitely systems you want to sit in the car for an hour or so and get used to before driving.
That's the problem with BMW. it's SO complicated because of how many options and functions you have... But it's also thir biggest strenght because if you know your car well, it becomes the best of the best for absolutely everything. Just have to keep everything in mind...
@@achaz_yup it’s extremely customizable. More than any other brand I’ve owned. That could be a bad thing for those who don’t like to customize settings.
@@jr1885just got a new 5 series and wow it was overwhelming at first but after you get used to it it's amazing! Love how pretty much anything can be turned into a shortcut
Thanks for all you do! Both of you! ✨ I know there's probably some sacrifices you guys have to make when it comes to recording all these roadtrips, so just wanna make sure y'all know that it's appreciated 👍🏽 at least by one, RUclips commenter.
Thank you so much 🥹 you’re what makes it possible!
make it two!
Road tripping in a 7 series is a dream tbh. I imagine it would be so comfortable and relaxing
K truck and Red brush 😂!
Wouldn´t have expected to see a kei truck near Red Brush Road
Wow I live right next to Winston-Salem. Who knew such a big celebrity was visiting? And she brought substitute topher with her.
I live in Greensboro that’s crazy he drove all the way down here
@@DominicVincero I’m originally from Massachusetts. That’s a 15 hour drive. You get used to it if you it often enough. I wish I could afford some like that BMW.
Me too. I used to live off of Old Oak Ridge in GB and I went to Forsyth Tech after Uni. This is mind-blowing to me.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought this lol Piedmont Triad represent!
No window tint on a 7-Series should be a felony.. xD
Kei truck! I love road trip videos. Hope to see more from you in the future!
I really like these road-trip-episodes. And kei trucks next to red brushes. You two are very kind people 🙂
thank you!!
Kei trucks and red brush are my two favorite things! More of these longer roadtrips!!
Am more of a Lexus guy but boy this has a nice interior. They really pulled off the a lot of screens modern look without it looking cheap in fact looks so good
I agree! A wise use of materials and design goes a long way when simplifying. Gotta do more than just glue an iPad to a plastic dashboard 🤣
I'd take the LS over this
@@weirdshibainu Who asked?
@@ping3067 It would have taken less effort to just ignore him. Do you feel better?
@@weirdshibainu And yet, you have neither.
K-truck and red brush at the same time. Wow!! Rare sightings
Kei Truck! Man, what a nice video to watch, very relaxing and enjoying! Thank you for the effort.
Great video, it was quite a ride, the kei truck and red brush side by side. Loved every moment, it was truly grand, can't wait to see more from your hand!
The power doors sound like a great feature for older individuals, or folks with less ability to manually open doors.
Great point! I think they could use a bit more refinement, but it's a good start.
I loved the Kei Truck cameo. 😉. Really enjoyed watching the road trip video and as always another great review of another great product. It was really cool to see the authenticity of ordering fast food and eating in the car while on a road trip. I appreciate all of your hard work. 👍🏼
Thanks for taking us on the ride with you, that was amazing!
Just had nostalgia watching this. My friend and I drove from Ann Arbor Michigan to New York. Almost 6 years later I come across a video that shows the same scenery. This is the content I live for big ups....👊👊
130k asking price is insane, but a lot more palatable when you realize this thing is gonna depreciate >50% in 2.5 years
Loved the video thank you both for all the hard work! Also I know this isn't the main content of the channel but on one of the road trip videos I'd love to hear the story of how you and Emily met. You guys have such a great dynamic
What a plush and responsive vehicle.
That exterior is too hideous for me....
yup
@ByForschle lol, by the looks of it, i believe it's to please the Chinese market
This comment offends me. My good friend Stevie Wonder designed this vehicle and was told he did a great job.
i think it looks good, but i also think the cyber truck looks good as well too so, just dumbs down to how open minded u are
@@marritt Car design is art and art is subjective. It has nothing to do with open mindedness. If we think it's sh*t then it's sh*t. You can't force us to change our taste. (Excuse my bad English)
Love all your roadtrip videos. Especially when Emily is included! This looks like such a luxury ride.
Nice story about the fuel caps on the right side in German cars. Actually it’s a matter on which side of the road you drive, Japanese cars have the fuel cap on the left side. However, Mercedes Benz broke that rule when introducing the A-Class (fuel cap on the left). On which side you have to fill up your car indicates the little arrow beside the fuel pump in your gauge.
K Truck! love the road trip content.
Fun fact: In germany its illegal to run out of gas on the autobahn and if the police catches you doing so, you'll just be fined.
Same in the us. Just not as enforced
Kei Truck! I love me a road trip video while procrastinating homework that is due tomorrow..
Loved the Kei Truck clip and red brush too. It may be a long video but it was a great. Always love the road trip videos and that you highlight the trip computer stats, filling up gas/charging, seat comfiness, lunch/coffee and similar everyday shops like that. It’s a lot of small things but they add up to a quality video. Also loved the West Virginia fun facts and lore 😂
Love the rear leg space. Good job for sanitizing him after touching the outside world.
few points but I know its months later lol. 1. the empty spot on the wheel is for a future button for full autonomous driving. 2. you can keep the car running if the door opens if the driver's seatbelt is clicked in albeit if its a climate problem you can run the pre-con for 30 mins as long as the battery is above 30%. 3. the auto slow down is a setting in the driver assistance menus that you can choose slow medium or fast or off.
I get close to 700 miles in my X5 40i with the 20+ gallon tank. It is a mild hybrid tho. I agree it’s insanely involved to set up initially. I love it.
The feature that slows the car down in curves looks like it works very well. I have the same feature in my K5 but it doesn’t work anywhere near as well. Mine only slows down on certain curves that have been pre programmed by Kia in the navigation system and I don’t think the speed control is natural either. It either slows the car down too much that it impedes traffic or it keeps the car going too fast (experienced this on some really windy roads on the PA/MD border). So I’m glad, BMW was able to execute this feature in a (as expected) luxurious and unobtrusive way.
My understanding is that the most economical mode is to leave the car in intelligent hybrid mode and not using up all the battery in one go apart from regeneration
Yall were in my home state West Virginia!!!! I live in Princeton and I go to that same Chick-fil-A all the time! Love your videos!
I love me a red brush kei truck! Loved the long distance review, i’ve always wanted to know how these new 7 series handle on the interstate for hundreds of miles and I’m glad you did it
Awesome video man you should make some more of these I’m a big fan of these road trip videos
Wow, life's good.
And God bless America too, perfect roads, amazing girls.
Exactly the opposite of Brazil
K-truck! Red brush! Wonderful vehicle, video and Emily is so supportive 😊
Use 'expressive' mode for that air-raid siren relaxation!
Red brush 🔥🔥 love these road trip vids. Gold material for studying with
I think the only way to get the car to remain on is opening the door before putting the car in park, when you take your foot off the break it will turn off, but if the car is in sport (the most sporty setting, I think called sport boost) it will remain on. tricky but kind of a good thing from a safety perspective. (at least this is how my 330e hybrid operates. might be different on the 7)
You passed my exit at Hillsville-Galax! And we live right off the Parkway! Nice BMW!
Kei truck! I really enjoyed coming along for the ride while doing homework 😂
Seems like a great road trip vehicle. It's above my pay grade, but I wish our domestic automakers would make a car this size and maybe a turbo four cylinder with a mild hybrid system. As someone who does multiple +1000 mi trips, this would be great.
Red Brush and Kei Truck. Great video Chris!
Very entertaining . Thank you for a lovely trip experience.
K truck. Great video. It would be great if you could lower the background music in future videos as it’s really loud and jarring when listening w headphones.
I love road trips and am always looking for the ultimate relaxation / isolation vehicle. I’m seriously thinking of a used i7 when used prices tank.
Kei truck! Came for the 750e, stayed for the snack feeding footage
Kei-truck & Red Brush, nice video, thx!
i like you. you said "petrol station" which is the correct way to say it.
Hey! Do you think you’d be able to road trip , or “road trip” a TRX or a Raptor R? Would love to see how comfortable the ride is and the comfortability of the seats and the noise from those big tires since most people won’t be taking them off road all the time! Please and thank you😅
I love watching these kind of videos. Great work🎉 very appreciated content
well i was not a sub but watched till the end and loved it, also now im a subscriber😄
We need more couple videos and her opinion as well. ✌🏽
Great review. WHAT A CAR! I'll take two of them.
Spaceship car. Very cool.
It's crazy how much attention needs to be spent on the infotainment screen and controls. I get that we are getting an edited clip in which you want to highlight the fuctions, but still. When driving you should only be driving. Taking your eyes off the road with oncoming traffic shouldn't be promoted.
Can only assume that these technology stuffed cars offset accident statistics with all their safety systems..
Ok, new sub here from Ireland, after seeing you on Tedward and watching this video. 7 series seems sublime.
Edit: Forgot to mention Kei truck/Red Brush
Loved the video, keep up the good work :)
Kei truck! Loved watching this video
Bucees is great, but nothing beats a Sheetz run. Had a Sheetz near me in college in Northern Maryland and loved it. Recently had a Sheetz and Wawa open by me and I'm definitely not taking advantage of it enough. A Bucees closer to me would be really nice though. Those should just be the only three gas stations in the country maybe.
A road trip in a German car is always the best
K trucks are so Poplar here in Algeria, this 7 series is prefect for road trips!
I think it's KIND OF a shame you didn't use the built in navigation system because it works so flawlessly paired with the assist plus fonction on the highway, it even decelerates by itself to take an off ramp and it warns you to get on a specific lane not to miss your exit ! and obviously the AR view that shows you exactly where you have to be or go ! it's really minor details but on longer trips it's absolutely amazing !
edit : I didn't get that you didn't have assist plus on this one so it's not really bringing down the quality of your experience
new edit : I take that off you actually have assist plus... (assist plus only works on highways registered as safe in the system so maybe bmw still haven't registered the part of the highway you were on)
*kei truck or red brush
RED BRUSH! Love these road trip vids 👍
K Truck and Red Brush!
I would probably prefer driving the V60 for any road trip due to the wagon factor.
Nice review of the 750e. Almost as nice as that kei truck 😜
Kei Truck! I love watching road trips videos, it takes my mind of off the 53 I got on my Spanish 2 exam 😭
Welcome to NC. Hope you enjoy your time here!!!
Beautiful interior and undoubtedly wonderful ride and drive. I can’t get past the fugly exterior. I don’t understand why BMW does this.
It’ll be interesting to see if this era of “statement making” exterior design fizzles out for them. That being said, all I had to look at for 99% of the road trip was the interior, which was great 🤣
@@TopherDrives I understand the “I don’t have to look at it” argument, but it does follow you around.
I think the car looks fantastic in black and dark blue where it hides most of the ugly lines and just makes it look like a solid, long, monolith on wheels! In light colors yuk, all ugly unnecessary angles stand out too much.
Well they need the 7 series to sell, therefore it’s their way to make the 7 series a sales success, tbh I also hated the look when it first came out but now seeing a lot on the road of the west coast kinda makes me dig the vehicle even more than the 5 series and the rivalling S class
Nice road trip review. I recently just bought a 540i G30 , my first bmw and the ride is fantastic
Finally BMW putting some flat bottom steering wheels in its cars. I personally find them much more beautiful than the conventional steering wheel.
I had a 330e - I don’t think you can keep the car “on” once the door is open for the hybrids (can do it on gas cars by restarting with the door open, but with the hybrid as soon as door open + foot off brake the system shuts down). Also, if you’re using the BMW navigation system you should leave the hybrid system to itself, as it can tell by the route where best to use electric vs gas. Unfortunately doesn’t work with CarPlay though.
K truck and red brush 🔥
Barring the hideous styling, I think BMW hit a home run with this 7! Great video Chris!
Tbh after seeing how messy the new 5 series is, I kinda like this more than the 5 series and the rival S class, this thing in person has Rolls Royce presence especially a 4 door Spectre, knowing that it rides on the Rolls Royce Ghost platform like the F01 did
@@seansiew5629Agreed! The new 5 is underwhelming, such a shame cos the previous one was so good.
@@Chitu_8 well that 5 is a huge overstyling exterior and interior, the exterior of that looks like a Honda Accord and Toyota Camry being mixed into one, and interior quality wise it's a complete step down compared to G30
@@seansiew5629Lets hope they don't screw up the new 3 when it comes!
There's a tiny kei truck in my town dressed up as a fire truck. Its pretty funny to see lol
That Kei truck was very funny to see
first video ive watched on this channel, as i clicked i thought " oh this is gonna be a boring road trip im gonna click off in 3 minutes, and yet, suprise suprise, Kei Truck! will most certainly watch some more of these videos with my red brush.
K Truck & Red Brush! Amazing content :)
red brush! this was a really cool video and gets me excited to drive on road trips in the future :)
The way you enter Petrol station careless off road level different PAINFUL
I wish BMW made diesel hybrids. Diesel has high torque at low rpm, thus giving much better MPG.
K truck and Red brush ❤❤😂
Kei Truck! love the content
I've never paid more attention to a kei truck in Red Brush Road!
I’m so ready to lock in for this
man i love kei trucks
Kei truck was awesome!
That’s crazy I went from NJ down the blue ridge parkway at the north end in Virginia down to North Carolina and I wanted to go down to Asheville NC but only made it to crab tree falls I was gone for 4 days or so 2 of which spent on the blue ridge and went on a lot oh hikes and stuff I have a video of the trip on this RUclips I’m leaving this comment on for anyone who wants to see it!
I left at 330ish in the morning the day you posted this my trip was 1500-1600 miles I left from NJ to NC and Back idk how you did this trip in only 1100 miles unless you only went one way
There are far less comfortable cars to do a road trip in than a BMW 7 series. Pretty jealous. Kei truck Red Brush.
This car is so cool! :D I mean if you have space for parking (which is probably no problem in North America ^^). I wonder how much it costs to rent a car for this time. This is an absolute dream of vehicle :D
Kei truck / red brush!!
cheers from michigan! saw the saline sign. we are practically neighbors
I liked this video & I can't wait to buy this car.
K-Truck, haha.
Great Video and review, very well done Topher!
kei truck, more road trip 👏👏
Kei truck and red brush🤝🏿🤝🏿🤝🏿awesome car man
Kei Truck!! I love the vibes of the video. Great video like usual
Somehow not subscribed (don't worry, changing that), but totally around for kei truck. Loved the layout of this video!
