    That's pretty neat. Just remember when installing that it should derail away from the main.

      And it should be far enough away from the switch so as not to block the switch when it does its job!

      Thanks for the tip - I'll move them fortunately they are only held in with some rail spikes.

    Thats a very overlooked item on a layout. Even on the modern era UK railways derailers are present in rail yards. The ones I have seen in pictures at UK rail yards are electrically operated and have a large yellow electronics box next to them.

    Nice. Derail should be on the opposite rail. Always the same side as the switch handle.

    Nice. But too close to the other track. Should be able to derail a car without fouling the other tracks. Thanks for this video.

    What horrible looking power drops and sad soldering job... Nice derail though...
