My asthma recently came back and it was pretty severe. I was using my rescue inhaler 3-4 times a day. After going to the doctor and trying a couple different medications, I eventually starting taking my rescue inhaler right before a morning run. Then right after, I take my pulmicort inhaler. Then I take Zyrtec a couple of hours before bed. Feeling much better now and I’m not waking up in the middle of the night struggling to breath
I got my diagnosis today and unfortunately I am overseas, yes I am fluent in the language here, but just not with medi stuff yet. I can now confidently use my inhaler. Thank you!!
I was diagnosed with Asthma on Monday and on inhaler on permanent basis for now am on inhaler for 4 months then need to go for a follow up appt. Terrible. I used the the inhaler correctly only problem is sometimes the medication or smoke comes out from the top of the inhaler. Is it normal? Or i have to take another dose
An emergency inhaler (an inhaler you use when you’re having an asthma attack like ProAir) should work within 15 minutes. If you’re talking about a preventative inhaler (an inhaler you use everyday like qvar) it can take 1-4 weeks to build in your system.
@jennifer082255 Heeeyyy same here. Just got diagnosed with asthma and have only been using my inhaler for a very short time and never sure if it's working or not.

Why we removing cap first before shaking the canister ? Is there any problem if we shaking the canister first and later removing the cap?.

Why it is required to rinse Mouth after use of inhaler?
One of my inhalers requires to rinse my mouth out after because it can cause thrush. (Yeast infection in the mouth) I can’t swallow or anything until I rinse.
You only need to do this with inhalers that have steroids in them because if the steroids sit in your lungs you can get oral yeast/candida infections
Why does the inhaler give sleep?
Why do patients need to rinse their mouth after the use of metered dose inhaler?
A corticosteroid can lower the bodies immune function and cause bacteria or fungi to grow
