My asthma recently came back and it was pretty severe. I was using my rescue inhaler 3-4 times a day. After going to the doctor and trying a couple different medications, I eventually starting taking my rescue inhaler right before a morning run. Then right after, I take my pulmicort inhaler. Then I take Zyrtec a couple of hours before bed. Feeling much better now and I’m not waking up in the middle of the night struggling to breath

An emergency inhaler (an inhaler you use when you’re having an asthma attack like ProAir) should work within 15 minutes. If you’re talking about a preventative inhaler (an inhaler you use everyday like qvar) it can take 1-4 weeks to build in your system.

You are NOT supposed to put the inhaler in your mouth because the medicine will go on your tongue! Hold it an inch out away from your mouth and blow out first .. then spray and inhale . Then purse your lips tight and blow out slowly. That expands the bronchial tubes and the medication can get in better
