Dr. Brown, Thanks for being what a doctor should be, that so many are not - recognizing the need & taking the time to teach patients in a personable & clear way, with a great attitude! Knowledge can be found/learned by nearly anyone, but it takes the right attitude with a pleasant personality to be able to find & apply the knowledge needed to help others. So much appreciated, thanks for caring!
I am on my 3rd inhaler, and never felt relief…thank you, Dr. Brown…this was the best instructional video to date. I felt immediate results after one puff. 🥳
Dr. Brown, thanks so much for the video! I have had lung issues since I was seventeen. I have one lung and asthma. I always had Spontaneous Pnuemo Thorax. Both right and left side. Eight on one side nine on the other. The Dr's couldn't figure out why for years. Then they said I was born with blebs (scar tissue) on my lungs. I am now 50 (well on March 27, 2022) lol, and finally I get the full benefits out of my inhalers! Thanks again!
Dr. Brown, Thank you very much for this detailed video. I have RSV which has caused my lungs to become inflamed. I was given an inhaler prescription with no instructions. Then the pharmacy gave it to me in a bag with no instructions. I asked to talk to the pharmacist who told me very generally to put it in my mouth and push the button. I got home and after reading the enclosed instructions was still unsure how to use it. After using it improperly without getting and benefit, I turned to RUclips, found your video and am now able to get the puff into my lungs. It was simple but no one explained in detail each step. Not even shaking it first! Thank you, Thank you! I wish I had a dr. as good as you but they are very had to find these days and Kansas is a way long commute from California for an office visit!!
Thank you for making this video. I’m 75. I just got diagnosed with asthma and now carry an inhaler. I’ve never used an inhaler before. The clear and concise information in this video was very helpful. Thank you, Dr. Brown.
Wow! Thank you SO much! I've been paying hundreds of dollars for about a year now, all the time wondering why I didn't think I was getting any benefit from it. For that reason, I asked the tech who gave me a pulmonary test if I was doing it correctly. He said I was, but this video clearly demonstrates that I wasn't, and that I have, in fact, been wasting my money :-( P.S. I got onto the Internet to find out how to *clean* the spacer!
Thank you,Dr Brown, for teaching us how to use our rescue inhaler. You did it in a way that was easy for us watching to follow and explained the reason for us to go "slow".
I have been using my inhaler for a year. I have a corneal disease which requires me to wear rigid contact lens. Have been wearing them for 55 years. I was having problems with night driving and thought it was because of my corneal disease and early onset glaucoma. After much thought, I realized that when you use the inhaler, the spray not only goes to your lungs, but also some is sprayed up from the top of the inhaler and goes into your eyes. I started covering my eyes before spraying with a clean tissue. This prevented getting any spray in my eyes. I no longer have night vision problems other than the fact that I am 80 yrs old.
Thank you so much, I was diagnosed with allergic asthma a couple years ago as a young adult and so I never had to take an inhaler as a child. Once I started to take one I did what was explained but NO ONE has explained as clearly as you have! I take fast deep breaths in and hold, so helpful to know to go slow! Taking my daily maintenance inhaler felt noticably more effective. :)
Thank you for providing an easy to understand and very helpful explanation for how to properly use my asthma inhaler. I’m 76 and this is my second try. First time not a good result because I wasn’t using it correctly.
Ty because my pharmacist didnt tell me this. I just got an in healer and he said well your co pay is zero so for those i pack these in( the instructions into the paper bag) and have a good day.
thankyou. I have not been using it right. No one even showed me how to use it. . it was prescribed and Ive been feeling worse not feeling like its working.
I introduced you to I introduced you to DOCTOR OSEIWE on RUclips who cured me from #Asthma' with his herbal medicine and be cured completely from #Asthma"".
At the hospital they asked if I have ever used an inhaler. I said about 18 years ago. I guess they think I have a picture perfect memory because they just stood there and didn’t tell me how to use it. My first four doses I did not do it correctly. Wish you could’ve been my doctor. Thanks.
I have wheezing but scared to use my inhaler its albuterol it says can make heart race and make u shaky or dizzy I dont wanna pass out or have hard time breathing what do u think and it's for allergy me
I have had my inhaler since I was 7 or so and I was always told to activate the medication then breath in and I only now look it up and wow I was wrong the entire time. Well thanks I hope this will help me some more (: god bless
Everything you said is exactly what I thought… Funny how it is but I actually feel much better now knowing that a doctor suggests the same. Darn civilization and its specializations! And also, thank you :)
i was prescribed this but afrsid to try it. been recently diagnosed with sinus infection that stuffs my nose and also was told i have allergies. some breaths i take dont seem to be full or just feels like i dont get a full breath. would this help?
Ive just started using an inhaler and i know its silly, but im honestly scared ill not use it correctly. Any tips on what people did to get used to their inhaler??
the new perrigo pro air is the worst it has heavy duty plastic around it and when you press down on canister it does not work what a mess.th is very hard to get to the canister with you....r fingers.
I have only been able to breathe in and hold for 8 seconds. My lung doctor says that I appear to have less lung capacity. I can blow out for 10 seconds though.
Ohhhhhh......sooooooo.....you're suggesting that we put it in OUR MOUTH, instead?? I didn't think it was supposed to be making my butt itch like that!!
If your having shortness of breadth, You can't possibly do all of that your too scared of what is happening. So I'm sure I don't use it correctly during those times. So I just keep using it until I feel better -- then I can 'properly' use the inhaler.
This is the best inhaler training video I could find! Thank you!

January 2023, the instructions here may be 4 years old, but, wow! It's the BEST I've found. Thanks Dr. Brown.
Very useful, I been using an inhaler for 3 years and now I know how to use it properly. Thanks so much!
Thank you for the thorough step by step process for first time inhaler users like myself!
Your demonstration was simply perfect ......so lucid, so graphic and every step of the process so crystal clear. Thnx.

I was taught to use an inhaler 35 years ago and haven't had a refresher since then. This was helpful; thanks.

Thank you for the demonstration. I was able to use the inhaler effectively.
Thank you Dr. Brown for your most excellent explaining for the use of the inhaler… learned how to use it properly 😊
Thank you! I'm new to an inhaler and have been so scared to use it since I got the warning letter associated with it. You eased my mind thanks 😊
You are so welcome!
That’s what’s going on with me. I’m terrified to use it. They gave me no instructions. It’s bad enough I have anxiety. Now I’m crying.
Warning letter?!?! What warning letter.
Basically it was saying how fast the air comes and and make sure u do it correctly. But I do it like this doctor said and it works perfectly:)
@@jennys725 thank you so much. I’m so scared. Lol I’m a big baby.
Providers should give patients a link to this video every time they write a prescription for an inhaler
This was very informative and I have been watching it each time I take my dose. Thanks

Thank you for the knowledge that you shared
Thanks, That helped me very easy to understand
Also..so if it says the dose is 2 puffs, you do them separately right?
Thank you! I had it upside down, wasn't priming it, and wasn't holding anything in. I was doing it all wrong! Thank you! :)
Thank you so much for the REAL way to breathe in then pressing for spray👍🏻👍🏻

You shoud definitely speak with your physician, who knows your health history, so they can advise you on what's best.
Or come to my house girl I’ll take care of u lol 😘
Thanks Doctor

With the inhaler in your mouth do you breathe in through the mouth or the nose or both?
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING
Everything you said is exactly what I thought… Funny how it is but I actually feel much better now knowing that a doctor suggests the same.
Darn civilization and its specializations! And also, thank you :)
Great instructions!
I would like to ask if you breath through your mouth or nose inhaling the medication?
You'll need to breathe through your mouth in order to inhale the medication.
Great question !
Is it better to use the medicine without spacer if you can?
Very helpful- thank you
i was prescribed this but afrsid to try it. been recently diagnosed with sinus infection that stuffs my nose and also was told i have allergies. some breaths i take dont seem to be full or just feels like i dont get a full breath. would this help?
Thanks for your question! For something like this, we recommend following up with your physician to be sure.

Thank you!
Wow amazing doctor 10/10
3:54 when the joint hit different
thanks so informative
So should you wait 1 minute between doses if you are taking two doses at the same time?
If your doctor prescribed two doses at at time, it would be best to check with them to confirm.
Sister looks looking for the first time I would do crocheted dogs
Thank you so much.
Absolutely wonderful News 💯❤️
Ive just started using an inhaler and i know its silly, but im honestly scared ill not use it correctly. Any tips on what people did to get used to their inhaler??
Its very easy, basically, shake it, put it in your mouth, puff once, wait 10 seconds, then repeat, it's very easy
And also, don't lose the cap, what ever you do DO. NOT. LOSE. THAT. CAP

I don't like having Asthma so annoying I have had it since 17 so painful nothing seems to work
I have only been able to breathe in and hold for 8 seconds. My lung doctor says that I appear to have less lung capacity. I can blow out for 10 seconds though.
I like this video
Thanks…looks like i was using it wrong❤
I’ve watched a few videos on this. You are the only one who said rinse mouth and brush teeth. Why?
What about a spacer?
Michelle, thanks for your question, but it's probably best if you talk to your physician to make sure you get it right.
Tnx dr
Can my daughter drink water right after she inhales it??
Yeah
I am terrified to use mine. They just gave it to me with no help on what to do.
very well

I agree with everything except the breathing out part, you should always breath out through your nose so more of the medicine gets absorbed
