- How to use a Ventolin (salbutamol) inhaler. This is video 2 in the playlist on how to use different types of inhalers. Ventolin is a rescue inhaler, that can be used during asthma attacks or moments when the chest goes tight and wheezy. It is therefore essential to use it correctly, as it can literally be a life saver in an emergency. Really important to use it well. This video explains the correct technique to get most of the dose in, without using a spacer device.

got my first inhaler today. thank you a lot for making it seem simple to use, I was a bit worried beforehand but now I'm not at all!
I went to the doctor and he didn’t showed me how to use it correctly so thanks a lot for this video! 🥰
Very informative.
Prescribed my very first inhaler after 50+ years due to having a respiratory infection. Had no clue how to use it until I watched this video.
Thank you for making this video - it's very helpful!
Thank you!!! Literally a lifesaver! I dont understand why we have to see videos on this but this has been the way I learned. My Dr. Just said take two puffs. NOTHING ELSE! NO SHAKE, NO RINSE, NO HOLD YOUR BREATH! I'm absolutely new at this. Thank you for teaching me the correct way of doing things. Even though Ive had to watch all your videos. They are so helpful.
I use both Albuterol and Beclomethasone inhalers. This is the most helpful of the how to use videos I've seen on RUclips. Many thanks ❤️!!
My doc suggested me albuterol . How are you feeling now and did it help?
Best video on how to use the puffer. Much better than other ones I saw before I used mine and end up vomiting. Wish I saw this video sooner!
This is a really good video, I didn't know that was how an inhaler is supposed to be used until I came upon seeing this video. Some persons, of not many persons, like myself have been using the inhaler the wrong way. So, this is an excellent and interesting way to go. Thanks very much.
Excellent demonstration, thank you!
Unfortunately, this is not the correct way to use an pMDI inhaler. Never take an aerosol directly into your mouth. A valved holding chamber (VHC) should be always used when pMDI is used. Without the VHC most of the drug will be deposited on the tongue and throat and will never reach the lungs. Please do not use this technique. As it is stated in the guidelines “for pMDIs, use of a spacer improves delivery and (with ICS) reduces the potential for side-effects” (REF: ginasthma.org/gina-reports/).
Thank you. I was very uncertain about how to use my inhaler. That was an excellent explanation.
Thanks for the demonstration. So far you do it so good how to use it 😊
Amazing delivery. Thank you so much. This is really helpful.
Excellent explaining, nice video.
Never thought ill end up needing one of these... thanks a lot Delta varient :/
I haven't caught covid yet but flu is giving me a really hard time
I just got my inhaler yesterday; I did use it but wrong way . Thanks a lot I know how to use correctly now. Thanks again 👍
Thank you!
from the Philippines 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Thank you for the info. Very helpful.
The instructions for Ventolin state that one should inhale slowly (3-5 seconds). Not quickly (1 second) as shown here.
Hello I greatly appreciate you demonstrating how to use an inhaler. I got my first inhaler today and realized that I was using it incorrectly. Very well explained.
Thank you so much you explained very well compared to what I see in a youtube video.
Thanks for the demo Dr

Same here. Just recieved this prescribe medication. And my first time to use. Very informative
Me too.. shortness of breath now I gotta use one after 35 years of never having to use one 😞
Does it help? How is your breathing now? I’m also having COVID and difficulties to breathe

First time user too. I tried to inhale and press it but there is mist coming out.

কোথায় পাওয়া যায়
Many thanks. I just git one
This vid is very helpful for me because i have adthma
inhale and exhale with mouth or nose?
Is it okay that when i breath out after using it, there's a smoke coming out? Thanks.
It really shouldn't, perhaps see if you are synchronizing your breath in with the moment you are triggering the spray or maybe if you are breathing deep enough. Hope the video helps demonstrate the steps
@@StefanCristianStanel how many puffs can you take?
Yes
Should you rinse out your mouth afterwards?
Good day sir..how to used it .after eating or before eatin and how many times.thank you for this video
Your English sucks
Thanks a lot I was wondering whether its shaken or not and how to handle it properly
Do I have to shake it or not?
@@X320riginal yes.
@@hanac5586 I have a new inhaler since the time I wrote the comment, never had to use it, so next time I have to use it I need to shake it? Are you 100% sure? All people say different things :( I don't know what it is now :(
@@X320riginal at least if the inhaler looks like the one in the video you have to shake it, quoting him; 'to make it more homogeneous' :d Usually the bottle has something like "shake me" on it if you have to do it.
I don't understand why this is so hard, I don't know how to inhale lol. I get most of the stuff on my tongue.
I used it incorrectly too because I previously breathe using my nose, but when I tried to inhale it using my mouth just like sipping or sucking the mist, then it becomes more effective.
bro do I need to finish all that inhaler if my asthma attack? pls tell me bro
no just use it as needed, don't take more than you need
Brilliant info 1:34 1:37
Even as an adult I still need a spacer as I can barely holdi it in 4-6second...also just to point out yo don’t swallow like when yourhaving a drink you breathe in just like air if that makes sense for
How quick should my blue inhaler take to work cos sometimes I have to do it 4-6 times before it helps..I also have brown inhaler ,pink an white one and a purple one
i would suggest to check the inhaler technique next time you see your doctor and nurse, sometimes it can be hard even with a spacer and maybe you're not getting the full dose (and that's why you need more puffs)
After several usages, the inhaler will clog and not work. You have to take it apart, pull out the cylinder and run warm water into the holder in both ends and let it dry. Then prime it again before the next use.
Well.when I'm using my inhaler its literally got into my tongue.I don't know whether I'm using in the right way or not. This is the first time I'm using my inhaler for weazing
sometimes just takes some practice to get the technique right
Thankyou
No worries glad it was helpful

It can give you a slight burning sensation but try to take it as correctly as possible and this should get better as you're inhaling more of it

Thank you I was using my inhaler wrong.
Please can it be repeat in how minutes
usually people take 2 puffs one after the other for relief. If no effect is noted can be repeated after about 15 minutes. but if no effect and having a severe asthma attack i would contact medical help

Does it have any side effect when your driving?
My side effects from the rescue inhaler is having some mild tremors in my hands and being lightheaded. Def not driving after taking it. If you get an attack while driving, I suggest to pull over, take the medication and call someone to pick you up (if possible).
@@tifguevara this is what happening to mr. But the shortness doesnt go away.

I forgot but my mom told me I had asthma when I was young and I am REACHING BACK
For the first timers don't worry if you feel anxious after. Just breathe through it it will subside in maybe 10-15 mins after. It's what always happens to me after I take my two doses. Some like the "high" feeling but I don't. It WILL go away shortly so just remind yourself it's the medication and your body is just being anxious over the drug you are fine it IS to be expected.
what do 2'puffs mean in inhaler
