For me the lack of feel and taste of the powder is the main issue of this inhaler. Cause how can one tell if a dose has been taken and the inhaler isn't- for instance broken... :/
I understand this can be an issue, however if you are using it correctly and feeling the effect/controlling your condition then it shouldn't be a problem . But I can see why you may have some trust issues regarding its use. Do discuss this with your doctor if it is really concerning you
true. this is my first time to take the inhaler and i managed to take 4 doses because i thought it was a flop due to no taste and the number counter did not budge. beginners can easily overdose because of this problem.
Thank you very much for this excellent presentation how to use this medecine! I.m a new member of the "allergic asthmatics club" and I.m just starting to use this inhaler. You helped me a lot. All the best, greetings from Belgrade, Serbia!
I was annoyed that my doctor only told me what to get and didn't explain anything after. These tips are more than helpful. Thank you doctor, and get well soon everyone.
Thank you! Your content is very informative. I've been using this for a year and it works really well. Very helpful esp. whenever I'm having sudden asthma attack due to pollen or dust exposure. Symbicort is both rescuer and anti inflammatory drug which saves me anytime anywhere. The best kind of treatment given to me so far
No instructions by my family doctor. Pharmacist rushed me through as well. Wow, this video was so great!! Thank you so much. Especially that there is no taste at all, just a slight taste in the back of my throat. Gargle, swish and spit. Several times is good. Very very helpful video. Especially how to inhale it. Apprecuared.
From what I've I read it can only ever load and hold a single dose, and that will remain loaded until used. You cannot double up in one go. It will only ever allow you to inhail 1 dose no matter how many times you twist it.
This video was really helpful! I wish I had did a bit of video research to visually see how to use this inhaler properly. I followed the instructions that came in the box with the inhaler but after watching this video, I now know where I went wrong and that I took 2 x doses more than I was suppose to. Thank you for your video, it was really educational and beneficial for me!
you first rotated it anti-clockwise and then clockwise here and we heard the click sound at the end but the instruction leaflet present inside the box says 'it does not matter which way you turn first', so does it matter or not? can click sound be heard first or it should be heard at the end of the cycle?
Great instructional video!! Just a quick question, what happens if after you inhale your dose accidentaly turn it clockwise? do you leave it like this and just turn it counterclockwise when you use it after 12 hours?
Is this right ?? because the first time i use it doesnt turn clockwise not at all so i turn it counter clockwise and hear a click and turn it clockwise to return to its original position...
Great Video and Thanks for mentioning that the counter does not move in single increments (Very Annoying I find) AND the first time i tried it .... I did not know if I took anything..... No powder or taste...!! So it feels like you just did nothing after you take it and the stupid counter does not move so that is no confirmation ..... Thanks ...Great Video.....
Thank you so much for demonstrating to us the proper way of using our inhaler. I was so confused even though it was explained to me by my pharmacist. I needed to know to use my medicine so that i can be confident its working for me the right way. Thank you, much appreciate it. ❤
Thank you so much for your really informative video. Really appreciate it. The only issue with this device is the lack of taste or feel. Glad you mentioned about the scratchy feel at the back. I'm from Malaysia and glad I was able to find your video
In the case of Symbicort, it's quite confusing. There are apparently two types of inhalers they offer. One is a dry powder inhaler called the turbuhaler, which Dr. Stefan is demonstrating in his videos. The other is a metered-dose inhaler, called a rapihaler. They both offer the same combination of drugs in the same amounts, but the rapihaler is dispensed with a gas called hydrofluoroalkane. The user breathes in this not-so-benign-sounding gas along with the drugs. Apparently, the turbuhaler is not offered in the U.S.
Ok it seems I am breathing to slow . Does it mean that the dose stayed in the inhaler because I didn’t breath so deep? What happen to this loaded unused powder if I will load tomorrow new dose , will it cumulate ?
Thank you so much for this video. I was thinking I wasn’t getting my dosage because the count was not going down and no taste to the powder. Very informative video.
Hi doctor, I cannot forcefully inhale it as it is too difficult for me while i have an asthma attack. Please suggest me what should i do.. Btw Amazing explanation..❤
The old type of inhaler was far better, it was obvious when you had correctly taken a dose as you could feel it. Plus, the counter went down with every single dose! If it ain't broke... Jeez. You do realise that when you redesign something, you're supposed to improve it, yes? Not make it worse!!! With this one, how the hell do you know if you've correctly taken a dose??? None of this is aimed at the video of course, which should be emailed to all new patients... Many thanks.
I've been using mine for at leat 20 inhales now, same as you showed but the counter isn't moving. Plus The top part of it is able to spin full 360 what's up with that, why in hell didn't you mention that little tid bit of information. If the top part spins does it prevent me from it's use cause it sure seems like it. If your gonna explain something inform us of EVERY POSSIBLE AND IMPOSIBLE OCCURACE IT WE COULD COME ACROSS.
Thank you Doctor! that's very helpful. However, from your professional perspective, do you think adding a feedback system on a DPI that tells patients how long should they breathe ( for quantifying the standard of "depth") , other than sound feedback for forceful breath (over 40L/min), could reducing training complexity? (just asking out of interest 😁)
For a first time user of any inhalation device, this information was both informative and invaluable to me! Thank you so much for explaining in simple terms, it is much appreciated.
Hi Sir thank you so soooooo much for ur valuable information its so informative. could you please confirm how many puffs need to take for one time( like i got advides morning and evening 2 times a day with quantity of 160/4.5mcg/dose advised for 2weeks) having confusion like how many puffs need to take exactly
The measure on the inhaler won’t come down even after several attempts of inhaling symbicort. So I’m not sure if I have inhaled the dosage or not. It’s my third symbicort and it’s doing exactly the same. When I shake it I can hear that medicine is still in there. How do I find out if i got enough dosage?
They try to explain away all the background about the product instead of getting right to the point. It's $59 period question is will it work ????? That is the 59 dollar question haven't tried it but doubt it a lot. Smell like a scam maybe is a scam what you think?????
Dear Stefan, Thank you for your videos. I have a question which can't seem to be answered by my doctor or even several Pharmacists that I have asked. I live in Denmark and use Astazenica Turbuhaler. This summer we have reached a hot summer and I always carry my Bricanyl Turbuhaler in my bag, However the Temperature inside my bag can vary and reach 77-86F, or 25-30 Celcius. The paper inside my medicine says that the heat should not go over -15-25C/59-77F... So my question is.. Is my Turbuhaler maybe not working now?
I know this is an old video but just in case you still look. I'm curious about something. I had a pulmonary embolism and they informed me I had copd at the hospital. My family doctor had prescribed ventolin and one puff morning and night of simbicort as I was waiting to see a specialist to find out what I had, I wasn't feeling great, very tired when I had the pulmonary embolism and called an ambulance, I was getting worse every day. At the hospital they increased the simbicort to twice morning and night so 4 puffs a day I also had respimat and blood thinners of course and gave me a spacer to use with the ventolin. When I finally saw the specialist months later, she increased it to 4 puffs twice a day so 8 puffs a day and respimat and my hair started falling out a lot. She switched me to Trelegy and my hair stopped falling out. She tells me its impossible that it was the simbicort but I find it odd indeed that as soon as I stopped simbicort 8 puffs my hair stopped falling out. So was it the simbicort? I also read pulmonary embolisms can give you shortness of breath for months or even years so with a family history of asthma (father & brother) how do I know whether my extreme shortness of breath upon exertion but not at rest is copd, asthma, embolism, or a combination that might have a chance of improving? I get a ten minute appointment with the specialist and she says she doesn't have time to answer questions so I don't know where to ask. Thank you in advance and I'm learning more from your videos than from my specialist.
I went to an Asthma clinic, and I was totally confused been using seritide for years and quite happy. Big sale for new drugs😢 still don't know if im using it correctly can't feel anything going into my lungs think I've been over dosing!!

Or do you need to inhale on the click side?

I was annoyed so much with this video. Took a whole 5 minutes to show us how to use the device. Damn man. Only to find you’re supposed to just twist and inhale. Wow
I just started this inhaler and I don’t like it. I would prefer to have a taste so I know I got some. I wasted a few doses getting use to it even took a second dose because I didn’t think it worked. Thanks for sharing this video I can refer to it. Luckily I won’t be taking it for long.

after few puffs, the counter still stucked at 120..is this normal..? im been using Ventolin for a while now..n thats an instant reliever for me…my doc recommended me this today, so…kinda new to it..but i’ll keep my Ventolin as my backup..
it's a common issue - I'll clarify this point in a future video. Basically the dose counter goes down slowly - 120 - 100 - 80 etc. I wouldn't worry too much if you are taking it correctly. Do discuss with your own doctor about it if you are concerned
@@DrStefanCristianStanel thank you, Doc…i already went to my doctor n he explained to me about it…the counter does goes down slowly…thank u so much🙏🏻👍🏻🙂

it goes down in 20s normally so takes a while until you see the dial go down. I answered in this video : ruclips.net/video/y5k8-rwniWY/видео.html
after few puffs, the counter still stucked at 120..is this normal..?
im been using Ventolin for a while now..n thats an instant reliever for me…my doc recommended me this today, so…kinda new to it..but i’ll keep my Ventolin as my backup..
it's a common issue - I'll clarify this point in a future video. Basically the dose counter goes down slowly - 120 - 100 - 80 etc. I wouldn't worry too much if you are taking it correctly. Do discuss with your own doctor about it if you are concerned
@@DrStefanCristianStanel thank you, Doc…i already went to my doctor n he explained to me about it…the counter does goes down slowly…thank u so much🙏🏻👍🏻🙂
Hi, doctor thanks for your video, can I ask something about my chest x-ray because they refer me to a pulmonologist.. thanks in advance
i can't give you medical advice in that way as I am not your doctor sorry. It's best to discuss any results with your healthcare team who can give you appropriate advice in your situation.
Very clear instructions, thank you!
Thank you this has been helpful, I was not told how to use it. But learnt a lot just now
