The gargling with water thing was something I have never been told by any medical staff in the last 45 years, with many people repeating good practise comments. So thank you for this information.
the gentle exhale & holding breath are very helpful. also, for anyone who reads this comments - don't forget to rinse & gargle with water (preferably warm-ish) a couple times after, that prevents any residual powder from from staying in the back of your throat / mouth and drying anything out
I liked the liquid ones as a kid, they had a distinct flavour, you could hear the product click and hiss, and you breathed in something cold and wet! Those were the good days when you knew your inhaler wasn’t empty!
The makers could have done a better job of making it visible using a colour, or an opening that opens and closes. The present device is very poorly designed.
I have this and it’s annoying.. they should make easier ones for us who can’t inhale so much and so fast. If you never had asthma you can’t understand that you are not able to inhale fast
I have seen a demo device for Seretide that was transparent to see all the bits inside but not for Symbicort. Would be a good idea though! There are however some inhalers that contain capsules which you can check if the powder is gone
I use the device exactly as shown. My concern is that when I weigh a new inhaler on my postage scale it weighs 46 grams. Then I weigh again when inhaler goes to zero and it still weighs 46 grams. Due to this I am concerned I am not getting the medication.
It’s hard for me because I feel like the mucus buildup I get with my asthma at night might be blocking or absorbing the powder. And after inhaling so quickly I get bad coughing fits, where I’m worried I might just be coughing all the powder back out.
I notice after you take the cover off to access the actual unit, there is a twist top on the actual device. I’ve tried but can’t seem to find out what that twist top on the main unit is for.
Doctor i feel some think in my mouth while iam inhaling the medicine that means iam not inhaleing correcly .so how long time i have to inhale and hold it.then when i have exhale .please replay
U can't feel anything but u can see that it's because at first it was 120 and the more u inhale the number will reduce by 20 and if u continued doing it u can see that the number is going down 120 then 100 then 80
had sever asthma all my life, im 54 and after I eat meals I have a hard time breathing. It can even be just sips of water that can trigger it, but when I BURP, I feel instant relief! Sometimes my albuterol will also make me burp with instant relief as well. Do you really need Adviar or Duo? Or maybe something to thin out mucus. I've tried equate antihistamines, and they help a bit but not enough.
My instructions leaflet says to turn back and forth TWICE, not once. So basically 2 clicks. Why does my instructions say to turn in for 2 clicks instead of once like in the video??
Doctor how do we know we inhale correct position because while takeing it i couldnt feel the medicine and my asthuma level increase i feel strucle to breathe now also
There is something wrong with this device it is like a placebo,i was taking it month without any improovement till i changed to same medicine but different type of device
I've been doing it the wrong way this whole time🤦♂. I was told spin it one way, then back the other and inhale. But when I first got it, it was already just 1 twist away from the click. Now I realise that when its clicked it's ready. Such a terrible design. I figured the click was to break the powder, and the twist back to load it into the chamber, but ig not
If you can't breathe..I'd think you'd be taking it ASAP! I've used this one for years and we'll as 2 other puffers and the disk type one that the person commented about. No side effects ever with them. The only one that gives me a side effect is if I need to take my ventalin puffer because it causes me to feel quite shaky. If you need to use it, there's no reason to be nervous.
This inhaler is a dry powder and shouldn’t be shaken. You may be confusing this with the blue pressurized inhalers that produce a mist. Also if this inhaler is accidentally shaken or dropped after the dose is loaded, the dose will be lost and needs to be reloaded.
@@yellowsnowangelIt shows 0 doss left but still I feel the inhaler to be heavy and when I shake there is powder in it. Any idea if I had been using it wrong way.
@@ramyaammi2936 No clue about it showing 0 doses and sounding like something is still in it. I’d recommend that you request a refill from your doc. You could test whether the inhaler is releasing any powder by preparing it and placing a thin dark-coloured cloth over it. If, after dosing and inhaling, you see white powder on the cloth, you’ll know that it’s still dispensing the powdered medication.
What if you take it but it really doesnt go inside ? And you miss your medicine time because of that mistake ? Then will asthma flare up at night? Can a moving fan above your head mess all the powder we have loaded?
If a person is batteling to brief,we get panicky! And we desperately needs 0xygen And when you get panicky the brain get slighty confuse. The device needs to be less complicated. To give us the reassurence its gonna work and bring relief.
they way i use it. turn the red grip to the left until it sound click, then turn it right back its original position. take a long breath 3 times within one dose. that's it. the only problem, you can not feel anything because the powder is very small quantity and tasteless.

Thanks for that reminder. My dr did tell me, but it went in one ear and out the other.😊

Mine says like the how many puffs i have left

I hit mine today for the first time like it was a toke cause I can't anymore, hit it 3 times wonder if I got any lolol
A agree this device its very annoying and confusing
I am not sure if I am doing this right. 🤔 the powder substance is on my tongue
IKR. My hits were wonderful sounding but completely wrong. I need to somehow get to the quick & strong way. Oi!
Use aerosol inhaler and use it with spacer
The most useful video I've yet seen on how to use these new fangled inhalers!
Please make tubular transparent... So we can see if the powder inhaled or not.
I have seen a demo device for Seretide that was transparent to see all the bits inside but not for Symbicort. Would be a good idea though! There are however some inhalers that contain capsules which you can check if the powder is gone
Thank you for a clear demonstration. 👏🏻

Please can you explain the why the mouth piece revolves, is there any reason for this?
Go to your pharmacist. They should have showed you how to use it. It's easy. They will answer your questions
This was well explained. Thank you doctor Stephan.
Why did they make it so confusing??
It’s not confusing at all 😂😂
I notice after you take the cover off to access the actual unit, there is a twist top on the actual device. I’ve tried but can’t seem to find out what that twist top on the main unit is for.
To be clear, this is not connected to the red activation twist at the bottom.
Thank you sir, I can confirm there is no taste to the powder and no sensation in the mouth.
Thank you so much!Your video helped me a lot to explain and practice inhalation with my child.
They should add a second feature that "click"s as you Inhale to show that yes, the medicine is moving.
please i feel like
i completely wasted my time and money getting this thing
Not sure if I opened my eyes wide enough !!! 😅 lol. Great video Dr .... made me laugh too. Thank you. 😊
Does the numbers on the side go down after every use or after it’s reached a certain number?
For me it has a slight bitter taste when I exhale
Nice, I realized that i was doing it right after trying 5 times. I had 5 doses 😅
Same story...still in doubt - did I inhale something or not? 😂
The one I have I hear the click in the first rotation so does this means that there is no need for the 2nd one?
Mine only rotate counter clock wise then clock wise
How many doses are expected to be inhaled ? Thanks Dr
2x per day
I use it but when I have flare ups I cannot get enough inside and my asthma getting worse. Need to replace it to another one
Same
Do we have to shake container or not. My prescription says shake well.
What the red markers on the inhaler in the window
when it comes to red likely it is running out of doses, can check the number on the dial to see how many left approximately
Doctor i feel some think in my mouth while iam inhaling the medicine that means iam not inhaleing correcly .so how long time i have to inhale and hold it.then when i have exhale .please replay
I’m at doctor now being discharged today, none odd the nurses or pharmacist has any idea how to use it
Super thank you so much for this!
How do I know I actually got the dosage?
I just got one of these. I literally Can’t tell if it’s worked or not
Thank you I was prescribed this I tried but did I over dose as I've never used it before
I wonder why they switched from a spray to a powder? The powder always irritates my throat.

This is usually when the inhaler is new and being used for the first time

Thankyou for the video and the how to
after the first click and you turn back the dial does it click a second time?
I was wondering the same thing
Do you have to store the inhaler upside down ? I’m sure I read this somewhere?
There is something wrong with this device it is like a placebo,i was taking it month without any improovement till i changed to same medicine but different type of device
I follow this procedure...but i can't anything...i don't know it's wrong or not...
so you inhale on click stage or you twist back? i saw videos and demonstrators did both ways, witch is correct?
Inhale after the click
So helpful.. Thank you!
Thanks for your help
Great question
Good and useful.
Anyone else get lightheaded /dizzy when holding breath (even shortly held?)
Thank you brother🙏

Same! I think ive been doing it wrong for weeks
.yes l find it very confusing to know if I have actually had my dose or not
I'm scared to use it 😭 but I can't breathe
Good answer. Me as well.
@@georgehimon1445 I started a different one it's a purple disk iv had no side affects and can breathe great now ,,, hope your doing well 🙏🏻❣️

Remember to SHAKE before arming it and RINSE YOUR MOUTH (or eat something) after using it. Very important!
Definitely rinse, gargle and spit out at least twice!!!!

Hmm. It Said u should inhale it after click? Why turn to other side after click and then inhale ?
Cannot understand that twisting.
Thank you. But am coughing how can i breathe this strong and fast and hold it for 10 sec !!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The 10s rule is a bit academic in my opinion, try to hold it as long as you can
btw there was a number 120 on it now its become 100 so thats how i know something has gone inside me😅
I have this and I hate it, I don't think I'm taking anything. Waste of money
I'm pissed my doctor prescribed me this crap today.. ffs
You nedto hold breath for 10 seconds
