Should you be worried about "steroids" in inhalers?

This is a comment about using inhalers with corticosteroid medication, which is normally required generally in the treatment of asthma. By using inhalers correctly and having good asthma control, we may actually reduce the need to use "steroid" tablets such as prednisolone, which contain a much higher dose than inhalers.
The dose of corticosteroids contained in inhalers is extremely low, but it is still effective because the medication goes directly into the airways where it needs to act. With tablets, it is more likely to have side effects as the corticosteroids act in other places around the body as well.
