This video helps you learn how to use metered dose inhaler like ProAir, Ventolin and other MDI inhalers.
Proper use of inhaler is very important for better medicine outcomes. Missing out on a step may lead to inefficient dosage delivery which inadvertently affects your health. In case of a Metered Dose Inhaler (MDI) like ProAir and Ventolin, getting the actuation and inhaling timing right is very important for getting the right dose. The video is precisely timed so that you can practice taking your mdi inhaler whenever you want to take a dose.
At www.use-inhalers.com/ we provide inhaler instructions for all major asthma inhalers in a fun and interactive way. We have tools that teach you correct breathing technique for your inhaler, help you practice inhaler technique and then test your inhaler technique for better retention. Above all inhaler instructions are available in major languages like English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and many others.
    We offer other inhaler training:
    • MDI with Spacer
    • Diskus
    • Handihaler
    • Respimat
    • Pressair
    • Twisthaler

This demonstrative video is well presented and authentic *except* it also misses 2 important points in Step No .7
    (a) Put the inhaler *above the tongue* in your mouth and seal it with your lips as dipicted.
    (b) While inhaling the drug *do not inhale from your Nose.*

Those that claim Salamol is just as good as Ventolin are almost always academics and doctors, as opposed to actual asthmatics. The reason is academics and doctors only consider the active ingredient, and yes it is true both contain the same active ingredient, normally 100ug of salbutamol per puff.
However academics and doctors do not consider the other ingredients (apart from allergy avoidance), and in the case of asthma inhalers the main other ingredient is the propellant. Ventolin is much stronger, able to fire the salbutamol deep into the airways. Salamol is much slower and lethargic, and without sucking in the drug barely reaches the tonsils. This is fine in preventive applications, where the user can deeply inhale and suck the drug into his or her lungs freely. However in an actual asthma attack, you are reliant on the *propellant* to get the drug where it is needed, and that is why you often see people wolfing down 30-40 bats of Salamol when they are struggling to breathe, but one or two of Ventolin does the same job.
Unaided, Ventolin delivers 100ug of salbutamol to the lungs. Salamol delivers 100ug of salbutamol to the tonsils. Thats the difference. Explain this to your GP, and once he knows you know more about inhalers than he does, he will write 'Ventolin brand only, do not dispense generic' on your prescription and you will recieve the superior Ventolin.

So because the doctors told me to use it twice & 2 puffs a time then it's goinna run out by the following month then ain't it? I'm not fick I know I was told. The boots pharmacy told me it should last for 2 months .well it doesn't if people have been told to puff it twice in the morning & twice in the evening.
