Oh WOW! My mom was a seamstress all her life and I always was afraid to use a sewing machine, but bought me a mini one and your tutorials have really made it not so scary! And these knots are wow! I was an amateur for years but now I just learned to make the granny finger like mom always did and Ninja knot! I'm excited thank you! 😍😍
I loop the end of the thread around my index finger a couple of times and then pull the needle through the loop until the knot is near the end. My biggest challenge is my poor eyesight for threading a needle. The double-ended hook looks interesting.
Thank you so much! I’ve been hand sewing appliqués on my daughters costume & was using the granny method which was resulting in these huge unstable knots for me. That last knot is a life saver!
Finally a video that actually helps! Every other video they whip through the process with the thread buried beneath their fingers and I couldn’t see what they were actually doing. The third example in this is a clear view of how to do it, so thank you!
WHAATTTT??? The Ninja Knot! I'm old as dirt... well, no, but... How did I not know this? I zoomed through every sewing class in high school - they taught that stuff in school back in the day - and kept on sewing to the point of there just being two of us in the classroom and the only teacher around was the one next door teaching cooking, yet I still tied that VERY beginner's knot. Oy! Thanks for catching me up. Smiles from the Southern California desert, MK 🌞🌵
Hehe you made me giggle! I knowww even my mom never uses the ninja knot! I wonder why? We've got generations of granny knots woven into our DNA haha! Hope you're keeping safe and well xx
@@OoniCrafts LOL! So I sewed on some buttons today marveling at the magic of the Ninja Knot all the way up until button number six when I, out of the clear blue, reverted to my old ways, tho I did manage to pull myself up by my ninja boots and regroup and finish strong with button number seven. I think you got it right when you said DNA!
Didn’t know it had a name, but I’ve only ever used the Granny’s Fingers method because that’s what my mom taught me when I was a kid. Gonna try the Ninja Knot from now on.
Thank you for showing that Ninja knot so clear and straight forward. Gotta say, I was beginning to get a little bit p*ssed off at how many videos weren't showing it tidy 😅😆😝 I know it's not a complicated science, but of a bunch of videos showing it, yours is the only one that made sense and clicked with me 👍
@@OoniCrafts No problem. I started with the arm on my hoodie, then I sort of went on a sewing Frenzy, fixing two small holes in and two pockets in three pairs of trousers, then the strap on an ankle weight. When I looked at the time, it was around 4 in morning... LOL 🤭😵😵💫😆
That's bloody brilliant Johnny! Just remember, the stitches on this machine are not stretchy. So if you want to sew something on this machine with a bit of stretch, use a stretchy thread like Eloflex or Maraflex or Seraflex. They're all from reputable brands and should do a good job for your purposes. Have fun!
AMAZING!!! THANK U SOOOOO MUCH FOR THE EASY EFFECTIVE NINJA KNOTS!!! I NOT ONLY GOT IT 1ST TRY, BUT I DID IT TWICE, ON-TOP OF ONE ANOTHER & IT WAS SO EASY TO LAND 2ND KNIT ON TOP OF I INITIAL KNOT!!! THANK U!!
Thank you!! I’m new to embroidery and have basically zero sewing skills. I have been trying to do the ninja knot. I watched several other tutorials and it wasn’t clicking. Yours is fantastic! So easy to follow and it worked the first time-Thank you! 😃
I know this video has been out a while, but thank you so much for 'the ninja knot'. Total game changer since returning to hand sewing for the first time in years.
I bought a mini beginners sewing kit and I'm pretty sure they tried to explain how to do the ninja knot in the book and I just didn't understand. thank you so much!!
If you look in the upper right corner of the video, there are 3 dots. Click on those and a set of options opens. Choose Playback Speed. You can slow it down to 0.75x (3/4 if the base speed) or 0.50x (half normal speed). Just know the slower you make the playback, the more the speaker sounds like the teacher in Charlie Brown cartoons. 😆😁
Hi Dana Thank you so much for your lovely comment. Oh yes homework economics used to be such a wonderful subject. I do hope you found this video amusing at the very least😆 it's lovely to see you here. xx
Thank you SO much! The ninja knot is super helpful!
Nice ninja knot ...hiya! lol 😆...can't mess with me now 🤣
I poked myself three times during the process 🥲
🤣
LIFESAVER thanks!❤
I saw someone doing the ninja knot on a different sewing tutorial & I NEEDED to know how to do it. Your video has been super helpful, thank you!
✨
Thanks "GranMa" - The 3rd method worked better for me 😼
Excellent!
Thank you so much for the NINJA KNOT! New to sewing and I appreciate all your information.

Hello newbie here💕🤟🏻
Isn’t possible that your portable sewing machine can do a lettuce hem? Please give us tutorial 🥺
Hi April,
It's impossible to do a lettuce hem on this machine because it only does straight stitch. You need a zig zag stitch to do it.
I'm absolutely baffled by the ninja knot lol

Perfect! Ninja knot a success!

Hi, how r u???
My daughter just learned the Ninja 🥷 knot in FACS (family and consumer science) class-which is what we called home economics in the old days.
Hi Dana
