Now, I know how to repair my sofa's cushion. ✌️ Thanks a lot Sarah. ❤️
I found one of those in a box of needles that my grandmother had and wondered how it was used. Thank you so much for sharing!
Now you know Patti! Grandmas know everything...:)
Hi I can imagine my grandma used them. She did this all the time. It is sad I don't remember. I am 71 years young and I am trying
G to learn. Thank you for sharing
I'm basting one of the thickest quilts I've ever made, velvet and corduroy on top and faux fur underneath. The only needle that will do the trick is a curved one, and I'm watching this to double check my technique. Good video!
I've used curved needles too, in box-making and also in the applications demonstrated by Sarah. I was a bit clumsy to begin with but improved with practice. It's not a particularly easy technique but it is worthwhile persevering. Thanks Sarah, another useful demo.
I use these needles in embroidered box making. I have recently written books, as well as many from decades ago, and not one of them goes into details or visually demonstrates how to use these needles. You do find your way with them and I've never broken a needle, so I feel good about this now I've watched this as I wasn't sure if I was using these needles correctly. Many thanks.
thank you so much for learning me how to use the curved needle and the curved needle in combination with the slip stitch. I repaired the pillows myself now 😊
Thank you for doing too these videos. You are a great teacher. Very helpful information
Glad you are enjoying the videos Kathy!
Just this week I need to use it for a carpet, your video came as a savior on time 💝
Glad it was helpful Ximena!
Very interesting thank you! Your videos are very high quality!
Amazing. I loved watching and loved the technique. Will be using the curved needle for sure! Thank you.
AWESOME !!! I have some curved needles from my mums old sewing boxes ;) I always wondered what they were used for ;) I have trouble with stitching like that ;) Thanks for sharing ;D
9:08 I've always hated the ladder stitch with a straight needle... but I just bought a pack of 50 curved needles and might give it another chance. Thanks for this video. 💖🌞🌵😷
Yea! Thanks so much. So helpful.
I have a few curved needles that were in my nans sewing kit I always wondered how to use them thanks for showing us
I love that lots of grandmas had them in their sewing kits! x
this was so helpful, thank you! I have some cat costume ears I wanted to customize and was trying to figure out how to do that with a straight needle - found a curved one in a set of new needles i just bought and now am on my way!
Thank you so much! The other day I was tempting to buy a curved needles but I wasn't sure of how to use them. Now I'm sure I need some for my embroidery kit. 🙂
They are so useful once you have got the hang of them!
Thank you again from a beginner
Excellent Thankyou I’m learning so much from your tutorials
Great to hear Robert!
They certainly have their uses. I smiled when many of the comments said they had found it in their grans or mums needkework box... we seemed to have gotten out of the habit of using them.
My grand daughter wants to know why almost all embroidery hoops are round when it would be handier if they were square i.e for making a zipped oblong pouch?
You can buy square ones Chris! Stretcher bar frames are perfect for rectangle designs, I actually prefer them to round ones

Very helpful and easy to understand, love the split screen view! One of the best tutorial videos I've seen - pleasant and paced, not too fast nor slow. Now to go repair some upholstery I bought the needle for - thank you!
Only one of that screen was actually required
Excellent tutorial, thank you so much !.. Must say tho you scared me a few times when it snapped thru I held my breath and closed my eyes thought for sure you had a finger piercing coming whew thankfully you mastered it 🙂❤️
Thank you. Excellent tutorial.
So helpful!
Very informative! Thank you... 👍🏼
Very helpful, thank you!!
Спасибо! Хорошая идея!
Very useful Sarah, thankyou
Thank you for this video. I have started using a curved needle and it is not intuitive. This is very helpful. Upvoted!
They take a bit to get the hang of but persevere Gwyn!
Thank you for this video, i was trying to figure out what a curved needle was used for because it is used in some fursuit sewing.
Thank you. So helpful and interesting. Take care. Sylvia
As usual.. superb 😊👍
Thank you darling!
Thank you so much ma'am
Thank you. This looks like it might be useful for sewing patches on to the breast pockets of my denim jacket.
Oh, I have got it in my set and wandered what are they for. Thank you!
I used these for (inside) braces buttons. I'm very inexperienced but think a shorter curved needle would work even better, 2" being the shortest I can find.
Super...
I used to be a slip sticher and used a curved needle to sew furniture. I always have trouble using a straight needle 🤣🤣🤣
I've never known it that way round Louise!
That's funny right when she said use three fingers because you have lots of control it popped out of her hand LOL
For years most of my stitching was with a curved needle. The thread was already attached to the needle. The needle was held in needle forceps , and a second pair was used to catch the end as it appeared. Lots of different sizes of curve and thread to suit different parts of the body. Working in A&E involves lots of stitching people up. Especially late at night, that’s when we learn how to stitch real skin. On drunks who have passed out. They don’t complain or move around, most of the time they just lie there. The only problem is the smell !
I want to embroider some small flowers on a shoe toe (child's shoe). The shoe style is such that it has a few gaps in the sides that I can get my finger through which may help. I will experiment with both a short regular embroidery needle and a curved one, but any suggestions would be most welcome.
Can you stitch them on a different fabric then apply them?
Thanks for the help. What I really want to know is where you get your hoop holder. I cant find anything like it. Would love to have one.

Yes perfect use for one!
