  • Staying true to my lifestyle, I decided to set up a Poor Man's ACOG on my VG4. For the purposes, I picked PRIMARY ARMS SLx 3x Microprism as a basis of the build.
In this episode, join me on a ride of unboxing the PA Mircroprism, as well as zeroing and sharing my first impression.

Very good video. I like my 3x prism. Need to go verify zero again. I didn't want the 5x because the eye relief would be much worse, and I'm good with a midrange optic on that particular farm gun. Cheers!!

Good point about eye relief, thanks!

Also get a much larger field of view with 3x, you can stretch that AR to it's effective range with it.

One suggestion for your backup sights is to run the prism as far back & put the backups in front of it & run the bigger aperture on the Magpul(depending on how good your eyes are). I'm seriously considering on getting one of these, but if I do I'm going to upgrade the mount asap, 2 screws instead of 4 once I figure out the height, it has a mini ACOG footprint. Good vid, I hope the PA is working for you.

That's a great idea for BUIS placement. I also am considering a QD mount for the prism, but also need to figure out height and placement first. Participated in shooting championships last Saturday shooting 300m with my PA - it's perfect. Oh and a small sneak peak for an upcoming episode. I piggy-backed a red dot on it :D

Wouldn’t call it poor, PA make some reasonable budget optics at least its not airsoft grade optic like vector, what most Latvians use. I actually might know where you can get more of these soon

Don't put a piggyback mount on it, it's really low quality and doesn't hold zero at the slightest impact

Oh. Too late, but something to test in upcoming episode

@@rungunpeppersYeah, the test will be really interesting to watch, so it's worth it anyway. Also maybe you can test how far you can use it, keeping in mind the ranging options reticle offers.

We don't have ranges past 300m here in Latvia :D Probably, a trip to Lithuania

You can't shoot outside of official shooting ranges here in Latvia, unless you are a licensed hunter, hunting animals in official hunting grounds
