Great video with one of our personal favorite armour plates!
The purpose of this armour plate model is primarily to be a concealable lightweight option for european users who want protection against threats commonly used in crime and terrorism. So the performance is tailored to cover handguns, submachine guns, AKs etc. while keeping the weight to a minimum. For users that want protection against a wider range of threats we recommend our NIJ III SRT plates.
The 5,56 penetration in the video was most likely due to the velocity exceeding the ballistic specification and not because of the bullet weight. The rifle in the video seemed to have a 16 inch barrel which will yield a muzzle velocity above the rating. The 5,56 rating for this plate model cover the muzzle velocity range one can expect from AR pistols and short barreled rifles like 10" or 12" AR15s.
