I was really upset when the final lineup was announced. I don't want to outright call the members "untalented" but there were so many trainees who deserved to debut instead of some members. imo yunah, minju and youngseo were the only ones who deserved to debut. the other girls can improve but it still pisses me off that the talented trainees didn't have a chance to debut just because of their age and visuals or whatever reasons. At the end of the day none of these girls deserve hate.

The problem with hybe is that it wanted to become the biggest kpop company and compete with the big 3, and it did succeed in term of monetary, but hybe have to understand that this big 3 companies were not created in a span of 2-3 years. It has taken a lot of effort and time to reach the top. Maybe if bighit has remained with bts and actually waited for the right time to debut new groups by properly training them it would have been better, but i guess bang was too greedy and wanted to reach the top with shortcut method and he is paying the price for it now.
You said it all. That's exactly my thought. Big hit was at its climax when it was only about BTS and TXT. Both groups were ruling kpop and had original concepts. But once Hybe was created, it just became a factory, debuting tons of groups. They don't think about longevity anymore, they just create a group to last a few years for money before replacing them with a newly manufactured new one
Here's my opinion: HYBE asked MHJ to be CEO in Ador and promise her to make her own female group concept. When MHJ was ready to debut NewJeans, BSH hold it so Le Sserafim can debut first. Probably he thinks that Le Sserafim has Sakura and will get more popularity, means more views, more sellling albums, more money. Then MHJ debut with NewJeans, finally! It become success, new fresh concept, catchy songs, the icon of that year, really stood out among all other concept. But.. BSH didn't expect NewJeans will surpass Le Sserafim, he doesn't want to 'lose' and make ILLIT debut stealing NewJeans concept, thinking he can make more money and also 'crush' MHJ's work.
Mhj wanted to have nj to debut first but she ask for the debut to be postponed because of certain things so bang pd said to have leserrafim debut first because there also other sublabels under hybe that was supposed to debut and so they debut leserrafim who was under source. As a big corporation and had many sublabels under them, hybe must also consider other sublabels and not just ador/mhj and before mhj create ador, she is also from source. Hybe allowed her to create ador and she even take one of the girl from source to join nj. Even all that was given to mhj, she still complaint, thats really is something. Both illit and nj are under hybe so theres no copyright issue taking place because they are own by hybe.
No one in their right minds will invest soo much if they think the group will "flop" NEWJEANS and ADOR recieved massive investment of that time. It was mhj who decided not to debut newjeans first because it would create pressure on girls, she said that in an interview in 2021. Source music was going bankrupt and mhj already took some of their promising trainees under ADOR, so source music had to hire sakura and chaewon. Ador was trademarked in 2021 march, while sakura and chaewon joined in August and November 2021, after which it was decided to debut lesserafim with other trainees who had less training (kazuha-6 months) source music would've gone bankrupt, and there would not be any lesserafim today if they decided to delay the debut.

They should have waited to debut them: First, they should have worked on their skills. They are K-Pop idols not J-Pop idols (J-Pop idols prioritize their charisma over skills generally. There are exceptions but if you look at the most successful idols, 48 family (AKB, SKE, etc), you get what I mean). Their vocals should at least be average when live. We are not expecting 5 main vocalists. Secondly, they should have made sure that the concept of the group dis not overlap way too much with one of the most popular girl groups in the industry at the moment. Thirdly, they should have waitrd with the pre-debut activities because I remember the girls getting hate from being invited to Paris Fashion Week when most people didn't even know them. It would have made more sense, at the time, to send LS or NJ. Fourth, from what I had watch of R U Next?, there were more skilled and loved trainees than the ones that debuted in ILLIT. I still believe that the lineup was rigged. Their original sixth member was talented af. But, in hindsight, it's for the best.
Nah I never even heard of Illit or even bothered with them but there were a handful of instances where I was playing my usual K-pop playlist and most of the time I turn on smart shuffle because I like hearing new songs, and I kid you not Magnetic comes out and plays so often that I started to skip it the moment it starts, and even then after skipping it just plays again after the next few songs. Heck I even turned off smart shuffle entirely just because of that, HYBE is just known to be incredibly aggressive when it comes to their stream numbers so in regards to the payola accusations you really can't deny because there is some truth to it.

Fifty Fifty was hardly unexpectedly though, they went through a lot of legal back and forth and kept insisting on the trial (because of admittingly bad advice, but the still did) - it would've been a greater surprise is they actually stayed a group after that.

they did great except Moka who was unstable during those time. but she improves now. they're talented don't trash the girls capabilities just because they don't sing like IU and Ailee. Minju sings and dance very well, Wonhee and Yunah has good vocals, Iroha can sing as well and dance very well. Moka can dance very well, not that good in singing but if its her range she can do well. I watched RU next, during their practices and other scene you can clearly hear their raw vocals especially minju, wonhee and yunah.
Most labels do. HYBE doesn't. They know company stans will throw money at them even if the singers can't sing. They bank on the concepts, song production, and marketing. That's where they put their money. Training is minimal. It's really sad when small companies put more effort into training than the biggest one.

Their fall from grace was so fast their second single had almost no promotion on social media compared to their first song. Normally I wouldn’t believe the accusations about Bang PD being biased against NJ because he didn’t produce them, but I’m actually starting to believe it. His lack of photos with them, no congratulations, NJ’s parents claims that he won’t accept their greetings to his massive difference of the promotion budgets of the two groups when they debuted. Damn, that man is petty.
Not saying this is true, but with everything that has come out so far, it wouldn't be the first time that a man's pride is bruised because of a woman's success. Now there are just too many similarities to New Jeans from song sound, styling, Paris fashion week and choreography that has lead to this copycat label and it's all on Hybe, but Illit is just the face of it and now they are going to have to work their way out from under that label.

Man, Hybe did those poor girls dirty. Whether they're loved or hated, or if they can't sing, Hybe seems not to care as long as they can make money off them. The girls are talented and have so much potential, but most of them can't sing well, and instead of protecting their gg and giving them proper singing lessons or picking members that can sing, they did neither. Also, the concept is so similar to NJ that there’s no way Hybe did not know that the girls would be compared and criticized for the rest of their careers. The problem with hybe is that it wanted to become the biggest kpop company and compete with the big 3, and it did succeed in term of monetary, but hybe have to understand that this big 3 companies were not created in a span of 2-3 years. It has taken a lot of effort and time to reach the top. Maybe if bighit has remained with bts and actually waited for the right time to debut new groups by properly training them it would have been better, but i guess bang was too greedy and wanted to reach the top with shortcut method and he is paying the price for it now.

You said it all. That's exactly my thought. Big hit was at its climax when it was only about BTS and TXT. Both groups were ruling kpop and had original concepts. But once Hybe was created, it just became a factory, debuting tons of groups. Here's my opinion:
HYBE asked MHJ to be CEO in Ador and promise her to make her own female group concept. When MHJ was ready to debut NewJeans, BSH hold it so Le Sserafim can debut first. Probably he thinks that Le Sserafim has Sakura and will get more popularity, means more views, more sellling albums, more money.
Then MHJ debut with NewJeans, finally! It become success, new fresh concept, catchy songs, the icon of that year, really stood out among all other concept.
But.. BSH didn't expect NewJeans will surpass Le Sserafim, he doesn't want to 'lose' and make ILLIT debut stealing NewJeans concept, thinking he can make more money and also 'crush' MHJ's work.
Mhj wanted to have nj to debut first but she ask for the debut to be postponed because of certain things so bang pd said to have leserrafim debut first because there also other sublabels under hybe that was supposed to debut and so they debut leserrafim who was under source. As a big corporation and had many sublabels under them, hybe must also consider other sublabels and not just ador/mhj and before mhj create ador, she is also from source. Hybe allowed her to create ador and she even take one of the girl from source to join nj. Even all that was given to mhj, she still complaint, thats really is something. Both illit and nj are under hybe so theres no copyright issue taking place because they are own by hybe.
No one in their right minds will invest soo much if they think the group will "flop" NEWJEANS and ADOR recieved massive investment of that time. It was mhj who decided not to debut newjeans first because it would create pressure on girls, she said that in an interview in 2021. Source music was going bankrupt and mhj already took some of their promising trainees under ADOR, so source music had to hire sakura and chaewon. Ador was trademarked in 2021 march, while sakura and chaewon joined in August and November 2021, after which it was decided to debut lesserafim with other trainees who had less training (kazuha-6 months) source music would've gone bankrupt, and there would not be any lesserafim today if they decided to delay the debut.

They should have waited to debut them:
First, they should have worked on their skills. They are K-Pop idols not J-Pop idols (J-Pop idols prioritize their charisma over skills generally. There are exceptions but if you look at the most successful idols, 48 family (AKB, SKE, etc), you get what I mean). Their vocals should at least be average when live. We are not expecting 5 main vocalists.
Secondly, they should have made sure that the concept of the group dis not overlap way too much with one of the most popular girl groups in the industry at the moment.
Thirdly, they should have waitrd with the pre-debut activities because I remember the girls getting hate from being invited to Paris Fashion Week when most people didn't even know them. It would have made more sense, at the time, to send LS or NJ.
Fourth, from what I had watch of R U Next?, there were more skilled and loved trainees than the ones that debuted in ILLIT. I still believe that the lineup was rigged. Their original sixth member was talented af. But, in hindsight, it's for the best.

Nah I never even heard of Illit or even bothered with them but there were a handful of instances where I was playing my usual K-pop playlist and most of the time I turn on smart shuffle because I like hearing new songs, and I kid you not Magnetic comes out and plays so often that I started to skip it the moment it starts, and even then after skipping it just plays again after the next few songs. Heck I even turned off smart shuffle entirely just because of that, HYBE is just known to be incredibly aggressive when it comes to their stream numbers so in regards to the payola accusations you really can't deny because there is some truth to it.
It was the same for me with NJ when they debuted. So I think they had payola as well?

I watched RU next, during their practices and other scene you can clearly hear their raw vocals especially minju, wonhee and yunah.

Give idols more training before debuting them at a young age
Most labels do. HYBE doesn't. They know company stans will throw money at them even if the singers can't sing. They bank on the concepts, song production, and marketing. That's where they put their money. Training is minimal. It's really sad when small companies put more effort into training than the biggest one.
Most big 3 idols train for atleast 2 to 3 years , i guess it's more like a hybe problem

Their fall from grace was so fast their second single had almost no promotion on social media compared to their first song. Normally I wouldn’t believe the accusations about Bang PD being biased against NJ because he didn’t produce them, but I’m actually starting to believe it. His lack of photos with them, no congratulations, NJ’s parents claims that he won’t accept their greetings to his massive difference of the promotion budgets of the two groups when they debuted. Damn, that man is petty.
Not saying this is true, but with everything that has come out so far, it wouldn't be the first time that a man's pride is bruised because of a woman's success. Now there are just too many similarities to New Jeans from song sound, styling, Paris fashion week and choreography that has lead to this copycat label and it's all on Hybe, but Illit is just the face of it and now they are going to have to work their way out from under that label.

Show me photos of BPD with other groups as BTS. Why are photos with BPD so important? Get real, the girls got millions of won or even dollars straight after their debut. They and their label reside on the top floor of Hybe. Don’t tell me they were neglected. And they never acknowledged Hybe in their stage speeches. But okay, yes, it is really horrible not to greeted by the CEO.

we don't know what's going behind the scene about Bang PD having no photos with them. MHJ already had beef with Bang PD before, it is possible that MHJ keeps NJ away from him since the beginning, and parents refused to talk with hybe instead they release a letter publicly. only MHJ stands in the middle of HYBE and NJ. She was treated as NJ's mother so every permission come from her.

Both NJ and ILLIT have similar concepts done differently: NJ is making trends from previous generations trendy again in the present, but ILLIT concept is just let’s do what NJ did a few months ago..

ILLIt are not most hated rookie group, they have done very well bar a few bad performances along the way, that neitzens just love to criticize like they do with everything. But the group are supported, they have build up a solid fanbase and they will continue to improve and gain more success, they have the talent to do so. All the best to them
The actual problem is debuting ggs of hybe in the same era , era in which a lot of things and concepts will be in common which will lead to plagiarism issue,i want hybe to understand and learn from yg who brings every concept new to the plate of fans by strategically debuting ggs with a good gap in between,which will lead to less comparison among them .

I didn't like this group because of the survival show between riging and other stuff. i know you can't have all the member you liked in a survival but this time it was obvious they wanted children to make another new jeans . Stop spreading hate. There would be no New jeans without the agency. I became a Newjeans fan because they were associated with Bighit, and Bighit was associated with BTS. Many westerners because interested in KPOP because of BTS. However, immature minds don't understand business management. Bighit (HYBE) has directly and indirectly impacted the Korean economy. Toxic fans and the media are keeping the drama alive.

Man, Hybe did those poor girls dirty. Whether they're loved or hated, or if they can't sing, Hybe seems not to care as long as they can make money off them. The girls are talented and have so much potential, but most of them can't sing well, and instead of protecting their gg and giving them proper singing lessons or picking members that can sing, they did neither. Also, the concept is so similar to NJ that there’s no way Hybe did not know that the girls would be compared and criticized for the rest of their careers. With all that being said, they created Illit solely for money, and the heck with the rest. The girls, however, have dreams and goals, and I’m sure they would have never wanted to be put in this situation.
BTS was accused of plagiarism and copying another artist. Today BTS is a global household name. You need to think futuristically.
The members knew they cant sing but their ambition got to them. Hybe knew these girls had no skills but they wanted to profit from them and just hyped them to the max, maybe even hiring ghost singers since these girls clearly cannot sing. Hybe payola is real
