Glad it turned out for you! I’ve had mine for YEARS! It’s never failed me. - You were the first that came up on how to cook Navy beans in an Istant pot. Maybe I’m weird but I can NOT put all of that stuff in my beans. Just SPIKE from the health food stores (Amazon now). Ham is out of the question. I’m not a vegetarian. I just like plain. - you’d be surprised how good they are alone. Lol. I had to see how long to cook em, etc.
    Thanks!

Even if you don’t eat the ham you’d be surprised how it changes the broth flavor. You should try it.

I wish after you showed us after stirring it, if you'd have put a few beans in a little bowl or saucer and smashed them so we could see how well they were done. I just lay 3 or 4 beans from different parts of the pot to see if they're all cooked. Mash them with a fork.
Did you have HEB ham? Did you ask for that off the bone that they bake in the store? Thanks for the simple recipe. Just wanted one without all the frills of hocks or necks since this would be my first time in the IP instead of my dutch oven.

It was leftover ham I cooked.

@@bjyachts oh, ok. But I still think I can get that off the bone ham since they have those big hams they cook every day. Thanks sir.

That’s actually an older Pampered Chef “batter bowl”. I’ve had one since 2000. They’ve changed them up some since then.

At 1:26 the beans are in the colander and he says “I just rinsed the beans” but he doesn’t actually show it being done😀

I did rinse them. No reason to put them in the colander and not rinse them. :)
