Omg I love you. Thank you for defending her! Belle was and still is my favorite princess, but I always respected Cinderella for her kind heart. It makes sense that Cinderella would be your favorite, since you seem to embody Cinderella in your kind demeanor.

So I always kind of thought people are unnecessarily hard on Cinderella. It's a classic case of abuse, when you're in that kind of relationship you can't always find your own way out. I don't think she was weak at all.
I just "discovered" you after soaping (and learning my ---off for a year. Your soaps are beautiful, fanciful, creative and CUTE! But, your ongoing narratives are....priceless! I can laugh 15 times an episode which is such a gift. You share very useful tips, and you're not afraid to look....hilariously off!!
Not to go on, but my other favorite thing about you is this: you can present an image of a lovable adolescent with a skin challenge, or.....as a stunningly gorgeous woman who can craft too, lol. You should make a soap line inspired by cinderella and other princesses. I would buy those.

Very well said about Cinderella! She and Belle are both my favorite Disney princesses! I think the latest live action version from Kenneth Branagh did a wonderful job of emphasizing her kindness, strength and forgiveness while enduring horrible circumstances. It took courage to change her life and I know a lot of people think she was rescued but I always felt that she fought hard to get out when she could. She believed in her dreams and they came true in the end. That's very empowering! And I never grew up thinking the message was to "wait for a prince to rescue me" as so many accuse her of. OH! And I love the Drew Barrymore Ever After version as well! Also, gorgeous soap!! ;)
No Katie...I think Cinderella is about a strong willed woman who knew her mind and in all her troubles she triumphed above and beyond. Nothing was too tough for her. A stepmother and stepsisters who weren't loving, nice and to say the least...nasty. To a weaker person this could have been the end of the road for them. She was a woman of the times, her times and she did it her way...ok, there was the help she got from her 'fairy godmother'. That could be seen as a friend, a mother or maybe as a neighbour helping her out. So I say...Cinderella rocked and she made me see that if I did the hard work - regardless of what life will throw at me, you too will get your 'prince and glass slipper'. You just need to think outside the box and know the what analogy these are...to you - 'prince & the glass slipper'. Keep on loving this fairy tale because I do and I'm a lot older than you. I'm a believer!
I love the soaps! What I even love more are your thoughts about Cinderella. That's what I've been thinking as well! People just take kindness, compassion and forgiveness for weakness, but its really not!
The lighting is great and I also liked the distance that you shot the pour from. It was easy it see and not so close is nice, IMO.

I love watching you make soaps! Also, out of all the Disney characters, Cinderella is one of my least favourites, but I don't think she is so offensive that I would go out of my way to write an article about why I don't like her.
Okay, I'm getting closer to current videos, but still a year and a half back, but I just wanted to say: I agree with you about Cinderella, and also, something that's often overlooked is that Cinderella was LITERALLY abused! Her step-mother wasn't just mean and forcing her to clean while the rest of them lazed about. She was actively abusive in SO MANY WAYS and it's a disservice to every person who's been abused to claim that she should have been "stronger" to just leave or behave differently. The strength it took to even seek a single night as her own person, out from under the orders of her abuser, was HUGE! I mean, there are some dated things in the movie, sure, but overall Cinderella was never the weak-willed individual she's often portrayed as, and someone who loved her very much obviously instilled some very good values of love and kindness in her as a child (presumably her father when he was still alive) and she was insanely strong to retain those values in the face of such abuse.
*steps down off . . . soap box . . . as it were* Meanwhile, of all your pumpkin soaps I've seen so far, this is my favorite. So cute! I love the little pumpkins, and the vines and leaves were absolute perfection!

Cinderella is one of those stories where your background and how evil the writer makes her stepfamily will largely affect how sexist you think the story is. It's really interesting! Nice soaps btw.

Wonderful! I could't see the cut that well but, I have no doubt it is another masterpiece. Cinderella opinion: I believe there is more freedom in forgiveness than allowing anger and bitterness to have control over you. Where is the strength in that."Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power." Ephesians 6:10 Ah-ha, real strength. All this deep thinking over Cinderella.My opinion doesn't matter too much but there it is .LOL :) Loved the soap!!

#2. question. How many theatrical classes did you take. lol. Your commentary is the best in all the videos that I have watched, trust me they have been ALOT.
no one needs to wonder about whether or not we should teach children to forgive with stories... we should. that's just a fact.
the problem arises when you look over children's stories and start keeping tabs on how often the forgiving character is male or female, and you notice a pattern of GIRLS being taught to be forgiving and BOYS being taught to be assertive. If you start to look over children's stories and fairy tales you will see what I am talking about pretty quickly.
forgiveness is great, that's not really the question. the question is, do we encourage young girls to be forgiving more often than we encourage young boys to be forgiving? that's setting the stage for a bad dynamic.

the piping looked like mudding (stuff to hide cracks in ceilings)then after it dried it looked alot better
I hate the current trend of bashing fairy tales, and love all that you said about Cinderella. I think fairy tales are obviously not meant to be realistic so why bash them like they are meant to be taken literally? While not realistic I think they all reflect some truth, and all show that everyone needs a little magic in their lives. Also someone who is so strong they need no one is not some sort of hero, but rather a monster. A loving heart always has room for others.
The bars look like cups of coffee with little pumpkins in the foam.
That's one thing it always freaks me out: you leaving your stick blender alone, I always expect it to fall and be all messy.... It finally happened and we miss it!!!! Hahaha! Sorry...

I don't think they made that article about the Disney Cinderella. If you look at the Grimm's fairytales, they have the real, legit, not sugar coded Cinderella which is basically about rape and about how women are seen as "objects" by men. It's crazy lol I took a class about it in college and it legit got me traumatized. But as long as we teach our girls to know how to be independent, responsible, hard workers, smart and strong women then we shouldn't worry about what they learn from Disney fairytales (which aren't bad lol I'm just talking in comparison to the article you read, they are WAY better than the original) lol but anyways I think this has nothing to do with soap, but yeah don't pay attention to those stupid articles, as long as it makes you happy then who cares 😘 (sorry, I'm super passionate about this topic lol) love this soap btw! 😊
The original Cinderella carried out revenge though. Disney completely changed every story it "borrowed" or remade. But... I see both sides.

I saw an article similar to that about Ariel. I don't understand what the point of that is? I feel this same way about video games..... No child should look up to a movie or video game so much that it alters their reality. You cannot possibly send a child into the world that has watched Ariel and think she's going to want to be so much like Ariel that she will sell her soul just to have something she doesn't. Or, you can't send a child into the world that has played nothing but Grand Theft Auto and think it's acceptable to actually do that stuff in the streets. Honestly, it boggles my mind to think that parents/people/society/whotheheckever will let that be an excuse for poor behaviour or even great behavior. I have 3 kids. I'm teaching them all to be their own person. Emulating Cinderella, isn't going to gain them anything in life. Emulating a first person shooting game, isn't going to gain them anything in life. The real world ISN'T movies and video games. I don't understand why people can't take them at face value. Entertainment. For real, this whole thing drives me nuts. lol!!!

Cinderella.... Was opressed by other women! So the next time you see or read somebody bashing her, or Snow White, or Sleeping Beauty.... Remind that person that it's is Women causing the problem. This in no way domonstrates weakness. Cinderella's father died, and her stepmother got her home and money, and Cinderella is depicted as just 18. She isn't weak! She hangs on and endures no matter what they did to her, and she never llost herself, not did she become bitter. You just keep loving that story. Your heart is better than whoever said those things. 😁❤

When they made the Disney Cinderella it was in an era where women DID depend on men. So yeah, she needed a man to save her from a bitch step mom. But we can always go to the original where she made her step mom dance in burning red hot metal shoes until she died so....lol and besides who cares if she needed a man. I would take a prince over being poor anyway lolol
