I would rather lose all of my possessions since those can be replaced. Photos of lost loved ones cannot be replaced. I recently lost my daughter, and I am thankful to have a lot of photographs of her.
I've already lost all the photos of my precious son growing up, so I can definitely say I would rather be without the money. Money really isn't that important, you can survive quite happily without it. Memories are precious. Itty bitty looks too comfy sitting on that counter with you to make an appearance any time soon. It would be great if you could do a basics of soap making video. The only way I know of to make soap is melt-and-pour glycerin, but that doesn't really seem like full soap making since its just melting and pouring. Also it would be helpful since I've watched a bunch of videos and I still don't really know a lot of the terms, like "light trace".
I second the comment to watch Soap Queen TV on RUclips. She has a 4 part series for beginning soap making and also, as mentioned, a video specifically dedicated to what Trace means. It's called All About Trace. You can watch it instantly since it's already filmed and uploaded.
Katie, you mentioned a Dragonfire & Brimstone fragrance - you should totally do a soap with that in mind! For example, one inspired from fire or lava, or maybe even a volcano. It would make sense with the high piping, too - you could use different colors of piping to make it look like a flame! Also, what time do your soaps go up? 'Cause when they do, I'll be on the Internet, ready to click. :)
Actually, I just realized you already used it for your LOTR Demolition of the Ring cupcakes (sorry, I was away when you did the Cupcake Countdown.) But still. I love the idea of that fragrance!!
Rachel Trainer I have a bar she made with that fragrance, it's really really yummy. You should look up the video for that bar, I like it more than the cupcake version because the bars have yellow in the color mix and it brightens it up more and makes it pop.

This one is definitely one of my favorites as well! Those colors are soft yet vibrant. Perfect end of summer soap. I'm also loving that peach piping. You need to do something else with that color. And great job getting the color to the edges!

I have taken photos and videos of my whole family, my rehab babies and all my personal animals.. and with how hectic life is and sleep deprivation- I sometimes forget all the babies that come through here. During the off season- I like to go through the pictures. I laugh.. I cry and I remember again. Watching the babies go from little 10/15 gram neonates, into 3 pound releasable wild animals- is pure joy for me. No amount of money is worth losing those moments. Being able to re-live them during down time is what keeps me going and allows me to do it again next year. Your soap is incredibly beautiful.. and while I sit here tube feeding opossums, I sit here in awe of your soap. I wonder- we both have passion. We both fulfill our passion. Only your house smells like beautiful soap and fragrances.. mine smells like literal crap and pee. :(

I would have to choose to lose all of my money and valuables...money can be earned back and valuables can be replaced. I have lost all of my pictures (memories) before and it was devastating... still is when I think about it. I no longer have any picture of my kids when they were babies, except one or two that a family member had. So, so many precious memories were lost with the loss of my pictures. :(

TBH I'd rather lose my money. Growing up, we were extremely poor. Almost all of my childhood was spent well below poverty level, going at times without water, food, heat, and/or more. One of the most painful things to ever happen to us, was we had all of our belongings in a u-haul when I was really young, and the u-haul was stolen. All my baby clothes, baby toys, heirloom toys and furniture, and every picture we had EVER taken of me as a baby, alongside pictures of several generations of our family: Gone. My dad always would say thereafter "We can make more money. We can pawn something, donate plasma, sell the clothes off our back for pennies on the dollar, and we can still find money. No amount of saving, or thrifting, or begging, will ever replace a memory; Or get back a photo of the memory to look on when you can no longer remember the moment." Sooo yep. I'd much rather lose my money. Money is replaceable, photos aren't. You can't get back a photo once it's gone.

Amanda Neville interesting... i know other soapers will put them in an (off) oven or have towels/covers. I didn't know some soapers let them sit overnight etc with no other insulation other than the mould.
Two Dead Sticks you don't have to gel or insulate soap. It is a choice usually for aesthetics. Soap with sweet fragrance or sugary additions such as honey can overheat when insulated causing a volcano or separation. Titanium dioxide can also 'crackle' in soap that gets too hot. I recommend soaping101 gel video on youtube. Cathy McGinnis explains it really well.
Definitely lose all my money/valuables. They can be replaced in various ways. I cherish all my childhood pictures, especially with my long-gone relatives, way too much to lose them. (Plus I take tons of pictures constantly and have waaay too many, in a way my picture collection is my most 'valuable' possession.)
Okay, so I need soap help! I made my first batch this week and the soap had that horrible soapy smell. I hate it. It overpowers the scent. Is there a way to get rid of it? Minimize it? I had hoped that making my own soap would eliminate that smell of soap but alas it's still there. Any help would be awesome!
B.J. Aiken when you leave lye water to cool down (it can get to over 200 degrees!) and you let it set to room temperature it can form those floatie things in the lye water. It's just the lye partially recrystalizing and it breaks up easily with the stick blender.

Amanda Neville interesting... i know other soapers will put them in an (off) oven or have towels/covers. I didn't know some soapers let them sit overnight etc with no other insulation other than the mould.
Two Dead Sticks you don't have to gel or insulate soap. It is a choice usually for aesthetics. Soap with sweet fragrance or sugary additions such as honey can overheat when insulated causing a volcano or separation. Titanium dioxide can also 'crackle' in soap that gets too hot. I recommend soaping101 gel video on youtube. Cathy McGinnis explains it really well.
Definitely lose all my money/valuables. They can be replaced in various ways. I cherish all my childhood pictures, especially with my long-gone relatives, way too much to lose them. (Plus I take tons of pictures constantly and have waaay too many, in a way my picture collection is my most 'valuable' possession.)
Pretty soap but I don't get why there's so much raspberry when it's not in the fragrance.
Okay, so I need soap help! I made my first batch this week and the soap had that horrible soapy smell. I hate it. It overpowers the scent. Is there a way to get rid of it? Minimize it? I had hoped that making my own soap would eliminate that smell of soap but alas it's still there. Any help would be awesome!
Fel.M I'm not sure what you mean by soapy smell. Unless you put lard in your recipe, homemade soap doesn't really have a smell.
My parents are still alive so I would pick pictures (can still take new ones), if that changes my choice would change too.
What are the floaties in your lye?
B.J. Aiken when you leave lye water to cool down (it can get to over 200 degrees!) and you let it set to room temperature it can form those floatie things in the lye water. It's just the lye partially recrystalizing and it breaks up easily with the stick blender.
