I signed Billy Volek when my QB went down. He went and balled out of control the last half of the year. This game was my league semifinal. Exactly like Tannnehill two years ago. Both led me to fantasy championships.
You know that these teams weren’t that interesting if Jim Nantz, Dick Enberg, Kevin Harlan, Ian Eagle, Gus Johnson or Don Criqui weren’t calling it. You get Bill Macatee and Steve Beuerlein instead

2013 Broncos vs Cowboys. One of my all time favorite games. Tony Romo went 25/36, 506 Yards, 5 TDs and 1 INT And Romo threw that INT in the last moment which gave the Broncos easy field position for game winning FG.
Calling a fake field goal on 4th and 1 from the 19 yard line with 6 minutes left in a game you’re losing by 7 points is Jeff Fisher in a nut shell. You know he had that play in his back pocket all season and was dying for a chance to bust it out in a big moment. He wanted to coach his way to a win instead of opting for the much, much higher percentage plays from his offense. Passing or throwing probably would’ve both gotten the one yard they needed but Jeff Fisher doesn’t do sure things. Jeff Fisher is vanilla all game every game until the situation calls for it.

Didn't know Collins played for the Raiders
I didnt either
As a Raiders fan, this Defense looks all too familiar. Hopefully Gus Bradley can turn it around. At least somewhat.
Billy Volek will be known for 2 things:
Back to back 400 yard games and coming on in relief of Philip Rivers in the 2007 AFC Divisional at Indy vs the Colts.
I signed Billy Volek when my QB went down. He went and balled out of control the last half of the year. This game was my league semifinal. Exactly like Tannnehill two years ago. Both led me to fantasy championships.
Despite the record of both teams coming in, this was a very good competitive game from start to finish
Did not know this until now. Both Billy Volek and Kerry Collins lit up the scoreboard that day.
Very observant.
Both of my favorite teams
You know that these teams weren’t that interesting if Jim Nantz, Dick Enberg, Kevin Harlan, Ian Eagle, Gus Johnson or Don Criqui weren’t calling it.
You get Bill Macatee and Steve Beuerlein instead
I guarantee this was billed to be a higher matchup given the Titans were always a legitimate team (they were 11-5 and won a playoff game the previous year) and the Raiders were two seasons removed from their super bowl appearance.
That duo did do a ton of Browns-Bengals games that turned out to be 51-48 slugfests!
@@lemmiwinks09 You're right, the one in 2007. In this year (2004) they called one game, and Beuerlein called the 58-48 game with Craig Bolerjack the same year, as well.
Bill macatee is the man he actually just retired from CBS, probably when he ealized he’s never getting that top Masters gig from nantz, who says he wants to host it until he has done 50 masters
You miss Greg Gumbel
The db #25 made up for the PI call big time with that pick👀 love the content
A Billy Volek sighting!
Remember 2007 divisional him saving the chargers season beating the favored colts in their house in the last game ever in the rca dome
IMAGINE THROWING FOR ALMOST 500 YARDS AND 4 TDS AND STILL LOSING
It happened to Marino in 86. He threw for 435 yards and six touchdowns and the Dolphins still lost to the Jets.
2013 Broncos vs Cowboys. One of my all time favorite games.
Tony Romo went 25/36, 506 Yards, 5 TDs and 1 INT
And Romo threw that INT in the last moment which gave the Broncos easy field position for game winning FG.
Brady did it in a SUPER BOWL lmaoo
Mason and Bennett was a under appreciated duel, only if injuries had not derailed McNair
Mason is criminally underrated and forgotten. A relatively recent player with 10k+ receiving yards no one talks about.
That catch at 16:55 into watertight double coverage. 😵😵
Billy Volek vs Kerry Collins?
(guessing by thumbnail)
Kerry Collins never gets any respect
Could you please do highlights of the 1987 Cardinals Buccaneers game where the Cards came back 28-3? I would really like to see that 🙂
It was the first ever 28-3 comeback which is why I'd like to see this
Oh I just saw a vid on that
@@jamman950 same so I hope NFL Throwback makes a video on it
I watched this game when it happened and was amazed
Calling a fake field goal on 4th and 1 from the 19 yard line with 6 minutes left in a game you’re losing by 7 points is Jeff Fisher in a nut shell. You know he had that play in his back pocket all season and was dying for a chance to bust it out in a big moment. He wanted to coach his way to a win instead of opting for the much, much higher percentage plays from his offense. Passing or throwing probably would’ve both gotten the one yard they needed but Jeff Fisher doesn’t do sure things. Jeff Fisher is vanilla all game every game until the situation calls for it.
Ah, I thought that might've been Billy Volek from the thumbnail. In the 2007 AFC Divisional Round against IND, he temporarily filled in for Philip Rivers after he sustained an injury.
What you talking about never heard of, Kerry Collins is probably my favorite Quarterback. I still have my nyg collins shirt. He had a canon and when he was on oh boy
I wish that when you don't have the game in 16:9 HD, it was left in 4:3 aspect ratio. When its stretched out like this its harder to watch
Little did we know that Kerry Collins would be on the Titans roster just 2 yrs later.
Kerry Collins was my first favorite player ever:)
This is a WR dual, Bennett vs Porter
Drew Bennett was a good #2 great #3 level player for 2 years and then had just a crazy 2004 just because he could and honestly because he was a tall white guy me being 14 I just looked at him saying " really? Him?"
I remember this being the time of year that Drew Bennett went nuts and won people their Fantasy Championships.
Billy V won me my first money fantasy league. Dude was straight 🔥
Ayeee Titan Up.
Funny hearing Warren sapp talk about the raiders and Kerry Collins experience lmfao
When I use to play my little cousin in Madden I would take out Steve Mcnair and play Billy Volek and tell him I wanted to atleast give him a chance and I didn't respect his game enough to play my best QB.
My best friend is a titans fan... feel good about this year for him. I am a Eagles fan... not feeling the same
Both Quarterbacks Had Finally Met Their Match!
I always thought Volek was one of the best backups in the game
Also what balls on that announcer "they were NOT supposed to be a good team this year" 😂😂😂😂 lmao
kerry collins had a cannon
Man Kerry Collins had a huge arm. Good professional
Holy shit Mr index card himself was the ref
I understood that reference lol
There were names i haven't heard in awhile.
Never knew Collins played for the raiders
Forgot this was a stretch of 3 times in a row where the Titans gave up at least 40 points when playing in Oakland
2002 Week 4 they gave up 52
2002 AFC Championship Game gave up 41
2004 Week 15 gave up 40
They did meet up in the 2003 but that was in Nashville. This was a stretched where these two teams met up 6 times in a 5 year stretch from 2001-2005 that included once in the playoffs as I mentioned above.
I remember this game lol. Didn’t Billy put up some crazy numbers like this a few times?
Raider nation
Collins did all this while piss drunk ⭐️
Oh I've heard of it. I watched first hand as Billy Volek completely carved up my sorry Raiders defense for almost a 1/2 grand. This was the rare game in which the offense had enough to offset another terrible defensive performance. That's been a theme for the last 18 years...but for some reason, only Derek Carr is responsible for the last seven, not the unit allowing 26.5 ppg in that stretch of time. Shoutout Fresno State though...Volek is the forgotten bridge QB from Trent Dilfer to David Carr and then Derek Carr.
Wde
As a long titans fan this was the start of a dark era.
For both teams really - both already declining but became terrible for years
Life was so much better in those days
The video looks stretched, seeing as this does not appear to be HD broadcast, it should be in 4x3.
Man I just knew Billy Volek was going to be the next franchise QB lol
Terry Porter was a good WR. Big strong and fast.
Finally a Raiders Highlight that u can Proud Of!! Lol ☠️
haven't checked on his career stats, but I'll go out on a limb and say this was the most productive game of Collins' career. Totally out of character. Saw him play with three different teams at three stages in his career and he was ALWAYS erratic
Drew Bennett was sooo under rated
“Quiet speed” haha
No matter how bad my raiders were, they sure kicked ass when they wanted to 🤣 great game! Titans QB had an ARM. Kerry amazes me how easy he made it look throwing the football. At times his release of the ball wasn't fast but he can throw it too.
