Yep. This game here was the second highest scoring game in NFL history, and that 2007 shootout was the highest scoring game of the whole 2007 season. It would he awesome if these two teams were good in the same year. I'd love to see a Browns vs Bengals playoff game at some point in the future.
@Kyle Clark I mean, in the 1980s, both teams had stretches where they were awesome. The Bengals of course made the playoffs consistently with Kenny Anderson. In 1981, the Bengals made it to the Super Bowl and Kenny won NFL MVP. Of course at the end of the 1980s, in 1988, the Bengals would return to the Super Bowl in Boomer Esaison's NFL MVP season. Within all of that, there were years where the Browns made it to the AFC Championship with Bernie Kosar. They of course lost all of them, but still. They won playoff games. Sadly, even though both of these teams were great in the same decade, they actually never met in the playoffs. It's honestly really weird. It's almost like when the Browns were good one year, the Bengals would be in a slump, then when the Bengals pick themselves back up and contend, the Browns would be in a slump. There were years where they were both good, but then either one would lose early in the playoffs that year. Just bad luck for the rivalry. Lol
I remember this game. People forget how good Carson Palmer was before his knee and elbow injuries. Guy had an absolute cannon for an arm. Rudi Johnson is also a big time underrated running back. Thanks, NFL Throwback.
