      Yep. This game here was the second highest scoring game in NFL history, and that 2007 shootout was the highest scoring game of the whole 2007 season. It would he awesome if these two teams were good in the same year. I'd love to see a Browns vs Bengals playoff game at some point in the future.

    • @345Jared
      @345Jared 5 лет назад +2

      Kyle Clark it will eventually happen statistically. Assuming no drastic rule changes occur in which they can’t face in the playoffs

    • @derpmcgerp8062
      @derpmcgerp8062 5 лет назад +7

      @Kyle Clark I mean, in the 1980s, both teams had stretches where they were awesome. The Bengals of course made the playoffs consistently with Kenny Anderson. In 1981, the Bengals made it to the Super Bowl and Kenny won NFL MVP. Of course at the end of the 1980s, in 1988, the Bengals would return to the Super Bowl in Boomer Esaison's NFL MVP season. Within all of that, there were years where the Browns made it to the AFC Championship with Bernie Kosar. They of course lost all of them, but still. They won playoff games.
      Sadly, even though both of these teams were great in the same decade, they actually never met in the playoffs. It's honestly really weird. It's almost like when the Browns were good one year, the Bengals would be in a slump, then when the Bengals pick themselves back up and contend, the Browns would be in a slump. There were years where they were both good, but then either one would lose early in the playoffs that year. Just bad luck for the rivalry. Lol

      Derek Ruff yep I remember the week after this they played the Pats, Terry Robiskie was the new coach and he gave Luke McCown his very first NFL start vs one of Belichick’s best ever defenses. Bethel Johnson returned the opening kick for a TD and the Pats killed them it was like 42-10 and I remember feeling so bad for Luke McCown.
      Fun Fact: the 2004 Patriots beat BOTH McCown brothers en-route to their super bowl title, having beat Josh McCown and the Cardinals back in week 2 in the first Cardinal home game game after Pat Tillman’s death

    With 106 points scored this game is currently listed as the second highest scoring game in NFL history, and is the highest scoring game after the merger in the late 1960s. The highest scoring game was Washington over the Giants 72-41 for 113 points in 1966.
