@@uzumaki8611 Buddy, what?? Lol, Marino is like top 3 most talented QB's I've ever seen. The dude was way ahead of his time, he was basically Aaron Rodgers before Aaron Rodgers.
My God. Peyton Manning is the greatest definition of a quarterback I have ever seen. He truly was a step above the rest. Preparation, mechanics as in footwork and timing, seeing things on the field. He is the true goat. Rings are a team effort. MVPs are what an individual player should be judged by.
not really you notice how the team is mostly built around the qb, not the other way around, tom brady should have won more mvps I dont know how he didnt get the 2021 mvp. Peyton should have won more superbowls I think he could have one more but all the times he loses to the patriots. Mvps are just things qbs from the best regular season team. Tom brady has the most raw skill and talentand hes better because he conditioned himself to play at super bowl calibur until he was 45.
Lucks rookie season, and the game against Green Bay, hell of a game, and that's when u knew Luck was gonna be special, had moments before that game, but the toughness and grit he had shown in that game, amazing stuff to watch
It’s very hard to believe that this would only be the second and final time that these two quarterbacks would face off against one another on the same field.
I remember this game..chilling on the couch, hungover from a Purdue tailgate the day before. I was only raising my hands for touchdowns. as i knew our defense well
This must've been an amazing day for fantasy football people. Unless you started a Colts running back. This was the year Peyton threw 49 tds, but I think he could've had 60. There were some games were Peyton had already four td passes by halftime and they called the dogs off halfway through the third quarter.
I was at this game, buddy of mine got tickets for my birthday. What I remember most is that the colts threw the ball, I think, the first 23 plays. Never seen anything like it. You’ll hear Joe Buck comment a couple of times about “not running the football”. And Farve kept coming back…what a great game
It's weird to watch a game on Astroturf in HD. Most of those fields were gone by the time most of us got HD. So it's weird to see that bright green really pop in a way we haven't seen before.
I was fortunate enough to be a season ticket holder from 04 to 11. This game was one of the most entertaining games I've ever been to, and seasons by a qb ever. Farve definitely made Peyton earn it this day.
As a Pats fan, I respect both Peyton Manning and Brett Favre, but I would cheer for Favre over Manning. Brady and Favre are my two favorite QBs in the NFL.
Manning is the true GOAT. Won two Super Bowls with two different teams. Is 3 - 1 against Brady in the AFC's version of the Super Bowl. And he throws long touchdown passes and makes it look easy, never needed a Randy Moss to do it. Peyton Manning is my GOAT. Brady overrated
Brady never actually won a SB with Randy Moss or Wes Welker. His best WR's that he actually won rings with was Gronk and Edelman. Gronk is arguably the best TE of all-time. Edelman might not have lasted more than 5 years if he didn't come into that Patriot system led by Brady. Also, Manning is unquestionably a top 5-10 all-time QB, but Marvin Harrison was a HOF and one of the best WR of his era, which included Moss and T.O. He also had a near HOF in Reggie Wayne and a very good TE in Dallas Clark. He also was able to hand the ball off to a hof RB in Edgerin James. Again, Manning's career speaks for itself but his cupboard was far from bare during his prime years.
@@Riles3152 Manning's supporting cast never put up the same numbers without him. Yes some were older by then, and yes Marvin and Reggie deserve to be HOFers, but you'd be joking if you said Peyton didn't play a large part. Look moreseo at Denver's offense and players and how they ended up looking without Peyton. All of their career-high years were with Peyton.
Manning is the most pure pocket passer to ever play. He is a true field general. Any team he touched instantly turned to gold. He had a bad habit of throwing picks in the post season though. His achilles heel. He was a lame duck in his last Superbowl. I will always hate him for having my Chiefs number, but i cannot deny him his respect. Manning is a top 5 QB no question.
@@mingywantwingy1379 Don' t forget Dan Marino. I can' t decide who was the better passer he or Manning. But I' m more with QB who can run and scramble too.
As a packers fan these defenses after Reggie white left and until we got Charles woodson was hold your breath bad with Darren sharper as the only all pro caliber player from 2000 to 2005
The Mike Sherman era was a disappointing one because it was an era where the team had to rely on an aging Brett Favre's arm and legs to get to the playoffs and lose by either making a colossal blunder in a close game (allowing an opponent to convert a 4th and 26 for a 1st down) or getting blown out of the building.
I scored so many points in fantasy football in this game that my league changed the rules mid-season lol... There was no rule against using a QB as a flex player so I had Manning, Favre, Stokley and Javon Walker.
2 of the greatest playoff underachievers at QB in nfl history. Peyton is probably the greatest regular season qb with brett just right behind him but the amount of one-and-dones he has in the playoffs with a first rd bye is mind-boggling. I can understand favre’s underperformance bc his reckless, gunslinger playstyle really fucks him up in the playoffs but for peyton he’s too methodical and intelligent to play so poorly in some games. His 2 SB wins weren’t even because of him tbh. in the 2006 run he threw 3 tds and 7 ints the whole postseason, but i’ll give him credit for the comeback against NE. The colts D really stepped up during the playoffs especially against the run when they were ranked 32nd during the reg season. Let’s not even talk about the pick 6 against tracey porter and putting up 8 pts against seattle with the best recorded offense in NFL HISTORY. I am saying this a huge peyton fan throughout his career and he’s still a top 5 qb alltime imo and he’s had his fair share of great playoff moments like 2003 against the chiefs and 2009 afc chip against the jets but it has to be said. He could easily be the GOAT qb if he performed in the postseason as well as he did in the regular.
Yes. these were booth two amazing quarterbacks of there time. this game me the tingles. will watch this till I get really tired. it was that good. AKA. a Broncos fan 4 ever.
Favre was so great, he made those around him play a higher level, even opposing teams.. the only 3x consecutive league MVP at a time when the league was full of talent and you could actually hit the quarterback
Is it possible you could do the 2009 AFC championship? I saw someone reccomend this a couple days ago and that was a good game. High quality content btw.

@@Serching4JerryGarcia I loved the pocket passer drill with 18. Really gave you an appreciation for how he played the position. The aughts leading into the mid teens i think can be considered the renaissance of the game. We have legends and those that paved the way, but the way the game changed from one year to the next starting in 99 was what gave us Mahomes, Jackson, Kap, Watson, Baker, Burrow, Wilsom, and Allen.
Russell Wilson having a similar season with both of the QBs, great numbers with a lot of picks.
Back when NFL games were this legendary
Really awesome game. Bunch of great plays, two of the best ever, and a close contest. Had to be fun to watch live. Great game, great video
Great matchup between the sheriff vs the gunslinger. Would’ve been great to see them play in super bowl xliv. But of course “this is not Detroit! This is the super bowl!” Happened.....
Yea but it should have never even gotten to that point with all of the no calls and illegal bounties. It was a miracle Favre was still able to walk towards the end of that game
I went to this game and still have the ticket stub! Go COLTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing game!
I’ve been hooked on throwbacks lately. The best part is 99% of these games I haven’t a clue who wins or what amazing plays lay hidden in them. I can’t get enough!
2 years later: Titletown Indy.
Greatest game I was ever in attendance at!! As Colts fan I got so spoiled during the Manning, James, Harrison, Wayne, Stokley, Clark, Freeney, Mathis & Bob Sanders years! Some of the greatest players of all-time were on my favorite football team!! Now we have Wentz😩
Should have won besides 2006
Can't get a more exciting game that this one. Manning had an amazing game, the colts protected him well & he did the rest.
The quality on these youtube videos is insane. getting to see this magnificent game in this quality is truly a blessing
Right...these games look exactly how I remember them when watching it live.
Great quality NFL Throwback. Great quality for a 2004 game
Fun fact: 2004 Colts only team with a trio of receivers to have 1000+ yards and 10+ TDs in the same season
Objectively 2 of the 5 greatest to play quarterback here.
Eh, I'd put Manning #1 but favre like #6, I think Marino, montana, Brees, Manning, And Brady are better.
wrong
Brady, Montana, Marino, Manning, Rodgers, Brees. All better than Favre.
marino better than favre?? stretching that one folk @greysen
Peyton Manning Is A True NFL Icon!
not really you notice how the team is mostly built around the qb, not the other way around, tom brady should have won more mvps I dont know how he didnt get the 2021 mvp. Peyton should have won more superbowls I think he could have one more but all the times he loses to the patriots. Mvps are just things qbs from the best regular season team. Tom brady has the most raw skill and talentand hes better because he conditioned himself to play at super bowl calibur until he was 45.
i think you forgot theres a thing called superbowl mvp
@@foosh553 honestly. And I mean this with the most respect, nobody gives a shit what you think.
ok whatever its not me with the idea that thinks peyton is the goat lol@@theaveragesimmer4780
LETS GO COLTS!!!!!!!!!! 💙🤍💙🤍💙❕❕❕❕ Farve-Manning Rodgers-Luck and Rodgers-Rivers, every Colts Packers games are usually fun to watch!
@Mike F forgot about that one, that one is a historic one
@@jminer6529 Football Rules
Lucks rookie season, and the game against Green Bay, hell of a game, and that's when u knew Luck was gonna be special, had moments before that game, but the toughness and grit he had shown in that game, amazing stuff to watch
8 MVPs between these two QBs.
Man this really feels like hd! Amazing, and thanks for the double upload!!
I was there. I'm a Packers fan. The Colts fans were literally the nicest people ever! It was my favorite NFL experience!
This was the best era in NFL football. It was like the world was watching. Doesn't feel the same anymore.
It’s very hard to believe that this would only be the second and final time that these two quarterbacks would face off against one another on the same field.
I remember this game..chilling on the couch, hungover from a Purdue tailgate the day before. I was only raising my hands for touchdowns. as i knew our defense well
17:14 Wait... Doug Pederson like the Eagles head coach? He used to be back up qb for Packers??
Won a superbowl in green bay as backup
Don't be surprised lol a lot of these coaches used to be backups or starters. I think Frank Reich and harbaugh used to be starters lol
@@Saints-ji3vj Yep Frank Reich is one of the best backups in NFL history. Played in BUF for almost his entire career.
Doug was the Eagles QB too behind McNabb. Philly and GB got a lot of connections if you look into it. Started by Andy Reid.
@@elvintran9620 He's the one that had that 32 point comeback right?
This was a beautiful game!! PM was the greatest at stepping up in that pocket!
It’s crazy that they only played each other twice. This was the peak of Walker’s career. He and Driver were a lethal combination
Florida st legend at reciever
This is great quality for 2004
I was there! One of the most exciting games I've ever seen.
This must've been an amazing day for fantasy football people. Unless you started a Colts running back.
This was the year Peyton threw 49 tds, but I think he could've had 60. There were some games were Peyton had already four td passes by halftime and they called the dogs off halfway through the third quarter.
Yeah it's insane his TD percent was over 10
These NFL Throwbacks are a Godsend.
I was at this game, buddy of mine got tickets for my birthday. What I remember most is that the colts threw the ball, I think, the first 23 plays. Never seen anything like it. You’ll hear Joe Buck comment a couple of times about “not running the football”. And Farve kept coming back…what a great game
This was a great game but I’m just absolutely in awe of that turf. It looks like concrete.
Colleges still use old style astroturf for field hockey 🏑.
I think field turf just looks ugly or incorrectly exposed on video way too often.
Still surreal seeing footage from the early 2000's in HD
It's weird to watch a game on Astroturf in HD. Most of those fields were gone by the time most of us got HD. So it's weird to see that bright green really pop in a way we haven't seen before.
Greatest All Time Quarterbacks Are Going Head To Head In This Big Game.
One of my favorite games I watched as a teenager. Love how Peyton's first half was better than Ryan Leaf's entire career
I was fortunate enough to be a season ticket holder from 04 to 11. This game was one of the most entertaining games I've ever been to, and seasons by a qb ever. Farve definitely made Peyton earn it this day.
Favre. Manning. Legends.
Amen
I remember watching this. Top 5 game in regular season and the bledsoe vs marino game come to mind . Battles!!!
As a Pats fan, I respect both Peyton Manning and Brett Favre, but I would cheer for Favre over Manning. Brady and Favre are my two favorite QBs in the NFL.
This video quality is awesome!
Awesome game! 20 warriors going at it all game long headed by their 2 Elite Warriors in a strong war on the Colt Battlefield!!!!
400k plus subscribers your work is paying off. Best of luck to you and this channel. I love seeing the content!
Thank you!!!
we here in Columbia SC love both QB's because these (2 guys wrk hard never never cheat because they grew up tht way now both QB',, s r legends now
2 of the ALL-TIME GREATS!
4:46 I'm looking at this like "Ya'll blitzing Manning? Really??"
Against that O line, bad decision. Haha. Didnt work out so good.
How is brady overrated?
This is some high quality for 2004
It would be so cool if nfl throwback liked this
How about a heart?
@@NFLVault thank you
Yo I've been watching these throwback videos for about a week takes me back when I use to play blitz on Nintendo64 good memories
Nice quality 🔥💪
I remember watching this game while my ship (Carl Vinson) was doing a pre-deployment workup cruise. Standing room only in M Division berthing lounge
16 yrs later and buck still has the same routine. Pass is caught, touchdown, no flags
Lol
The only time Buck ever sounded excited was when the Patriots beat the Falcons in Superbowl OT
Wow that turf looked like chalkboard with HD in 2004.
15:39 Chargers win against Cardinals with a score of 7-1. Legendary Scorigami
Double uploads are the best days of the week
Man I missed some good games as a kid. 9 yrs old and probably playing outside while this was going on.
I scored so many points in fantasy football in this game that my league changed the rules mid-season lol... There was no rule against using a QB as a flex player so I had Manning, Favre, Stokley and Javon Walker.
I actually remember watching this when I was 9. Not the specifics just that it was a shoot out between Favre and Manning and that we won!
HELL of a game!
Oh wow! Awesome game! Thanks for sharing
YES 2009 AFC championship Manning was a beast that game
@@jefframos9973 yes

Keep seeking out HD copies of the games where they exist.
OH MA GOD IVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR THIS THANK YOU!!! The GOAT vs the gunslinger
Miss this NFL
I wouldn't mind them bringing back this scoreboard style. It's a clean look.
Passing of the torch the best quarterback of the 1990s vs the best quarterback of the 2000s
On Sunday in the 2000’s football on fox with joe buck sitting on the couch 4:30 game was just the best
Imagine owning any of these 3 Colts WRs in fantasy this year. I can't remember the last time you could get legit WR1 production from 3 guys on the same team.
That old school Astroturf was miserable to play on, but I love how it looks, so clean
15:20 look at the referee at the top of the screen
Nice eye 😂😂
I was a huge Favre fan as a kid. When Favre loss to the Broncos in the Superbowl I was hurt Lol. I'm a Titans fan, but Greenbay was my team in the 90s because Favre.
