    I watch Ski Essentials to hear about certain skis. I love watching Jeff and Bob ski. Rickety ski reviews popped up and I watched a critique of Ski Essentials and laughed my ass off. I love his reviews and straight up honest reviews of skis. i have been skiing for 60 years and I love to see how skis are designed and why I like certain skis. Please keep it going ! I love hearing your critique of skis!

    I really like your channel. Your reviews reek of credibility. You come off as my good friend who is stuck with the chore of breaking me the truth. I'm glad you're being there for your son. I've been working with a guy who has been "that guy" for his autistic son, and I first met his son eight years ago. I would describe him then as severely Autistic. I ran into his son last week, and he is driving a car, tall, handsome, and well-spoken. A very pleasant young man who now has no outward signs of Autisim. I credit the love and dedication of his father for his amazing progress. I wish the same for your son.

    Hey Elliott! You've been the ski channel I watch the most for the last few months. What I particularly like is that you are critical but not whiny. You remain true to yourself and you definitely are an entertaining guy to listen to and watch. Keep the content coming and I hope you are able to keep things growing without selling your soul ;)

    You're the Outsider of the YT Skiing community? Then I'm even gladder I've found you! Yours is largely the only non-tutorial channel I watch. There's something about your emblem that got me. I enjoyed your story, I wish you continued success and glad to hear there's lots more to come!

    I subscribed when you had like 300 subs... so to see it grow over 4K+ in a matter of months tells me you're meeting a need in content creation that wasn't being met. I think it's great to have honest non-bias, non-selling product, type insights to narrow down skis to demo and buy

    Your channel's great, Elliot. For whatever reason, it's about the only channel on skiing that I look for consistently--maybe b/c I know you're no trying to sell skis! I do like the variety of your topics, and the relaxed, casual presentation. On the subject of topics: I'm looking forward to a program about waxing which you promised a month or so ago. Also, though I know it's harder to do and takes more personnel, a non-pov film of your skiing would be preferable to the fish-eye, helmet cam. Love the channel in any case.

    Really glad to hear RUclips is working out for you and a brighter future. The part about you being critical, I think that's part of your charm should I say? Makes you stand out when everyone is trying to be only about positivity. Also, is there any plans for the family featuring in your videos in the future?
    Luv from Canada 🇨🇦 ❤️! And I'm slightly hurt you forgot where Calgary was 😂 ouch~

    I have a theory that being exposed to a range of different skis can improve our skiing. There is something about the fact that every pair of skis has a different feel (due to shape, construction, weight, materials, etc). Adjusting our technique to tap into the specific qualities/capabilities of different skis leads to general refinement/improvement. Wondering if this is a phenomenon you can speak to? It may be worth exploring this idea, assuming it has proven to be true for you--as the videos over the last year seem to indicate. Glad you are forging on!

    I really appreciate your opinions, especially on skis. I feel like I have a good sense of your general ski preferences, which makes it really easy to get a sense of whether I'd like a ski even if our preferences differ. So great have an independent voice in the ski review space.

    Stay true to who you are. I could write a thesis on your situation but I’ll try and keep it short. You being who you are and how you’re uploading is why I’m here. There are lots of things you could do to pull a bigger audience and it would cease being worth my time, it would become like everything else. Everything today is an over developed product with hardly any substance. Your vids are like having a convo with a good friend. You’re knowledgeable but not insane like a lot of ski people get with their absolutist opinions.
    The moment you stop to think “will this upset brand xyz” you’ll have lost what makes your channel special. The critical assessment of skis is your differentiator. Too often reviewers value cozy relationships with brands and if your review prevents that I don’t need to hear about their shitty products away.
    Love, from the Ice Coast.

    I know you mentioned a bit about production quality and some of the ones on the slopes (esp the carving one, which imo you had some great points but really needed a script) were a bit hard to hear, true.
    But you're like a hundred times clearer than the ski essentials guys. I don't know what is up with their equipment or audio, I can barely make out what they're saying half the time, and I'm assuming they have a much fancier set up than you do. Keep it up Elliot!

    Hi Elliot, love your videos, helped me decide on the qst 92's. Have you tried to introduced your autistic child to skiing? I have a 6 year old with autism and she seems to take great interest in my equipment. I ski alone and think that would be a great activity we could do together i'm just not sure if i can find an instructor that specializes in teaching autistic kids. As far as therapy is concerned i guess we are lucky here in New York , our child's therapists come right to our house so it save us a lot of time. Best of luck with the channel and keep up the great reviews!

    I watch a guitar channel where he won’t accept merchandise. He feels he can’t be 100% honest if he doesn’t pay for the stuff himself. He sells most everything after the review. Buying/selling probably wouldn’t work with skis, but maybe having a relationship with a shop that would let you demo skis rather than from manufacturers directly? Mention the shop in your video and drive business their way. Curated deserves to be torn to shreds but you have to be careful with individual skis because I might love something you hate, so a negative review from a “gift” ski might be tricky .

  • @andrewdiamond2697
    @andrewdiamond2697 14 дней назад +2

    Not to nitpick, but it's literally in the name of the channel. I mean, it would be pretty disingenuous to be "Rickety Ski Reviews - Where we DON'T review skis!"
