Today I'm at Cafe Cru, Swadlincote taking on their as yet unbeaten fry up challenge. 8 sausages, 6 slices of bacon, 4 hash browns, 4 fried eggs, 8 slices of toast, 2 slices of black pudding, 2lb of beans, 2lb of tinned tomatoes, a bowl of mushrooms and one "Ultimate Milkshake". Sink it all in 30 minutes and there's a winner's t-shirt in it for you...or there's supposed to be...

A: I eat like this for 1 hour of a 168 hour long week. In simple terms, I eat at caloric maintenance over the course of time, meaning I don’t gain weight. If you're interested in learning more, see the ‘But How Come You're Not Fat' and 'It Was Just A Normal Day...' videos available on my channel.
Q: Don’t you worry about your health?
A: Not in particular. I’m active. I eat nutrient dense foods five days a week. And, I get quarterly bloods done, amongst other health checks.

Pretty sure the milk shake is suppose to be the challenge killer. Milk is surprisingly filling. When it meets the acids in your stomach it turns to curds and can really slow the ability of your food to pass out of your stomach. Good idea drinking that last.

What kind of restaurant serves all that food in front of you and doesn't supply any silverware or napkins? They served him "bowls" of food & no spoon? He asks for a spoon & that was all he got. Sure, he didn't need the others by then, but he might have been able to use them earlier. And what's with the napkins? One at a time? Especially sporting a beard. He had to keep asking for them & they brought them one at a time. Not what I would call a restaurant.

Because it's not a restaurant. Here in the UK we have cafes that are totally different to restaurants. They are basic and just offer fried breakfasts mainly.
Actually if you look real close you can see that there is a knife and fork in between the two trays of food.

Cold black pudding tastes different than the hot stuff and the consistency is different too, it kind of "melts" and becomes soft and weirdly greasy (even if you don't use a lot of oil).
Well when it's cold, it's just a congealed blood cake. 🤮

I love the full English breakfasts! Since I’ve never had one and they always look wonderful!
I,m from Germany and went never to GB but it's the same for me. So my last birthday, when my wife asked me what I'd like to eat... Well, she had don her best and it was indeed as tasty as it looks. Beans and bacon, hashbrownies and sausages, eggs and toast and baked tomatoes. To bad you can't get black pudding here. We tried Rotwurst, but... naaaah.
So next year we'll off to GB to have the real one. If someone can recommend me a location for the best breakfast, it will influence our destination ;)
Oh and btw. It was 2 hours of eating and 48 hours of stomach pain. Every second was worth it.
I've got to say, it's one if the simpler dishes to make if you're interested. Basically throw everything in in grill.

I really got to say you are my hero and role model! I wish I could do these challenges.
I really felt for Beard, he’s been doing a few of this food Challenges in hopes of getting a T-shirt but there’s like a few times he’s not gotten one.
Being from the states, California specifically, I never tire of watching you devour the English breakfast challenges. They look so delicious, and I’ve never been able to try a “proper” English breakfast, so if I ever make it over the pond I’ll have to give one a shot. You kicked it’s ass like always 👍🏼👍🏼
Unfortunately the cafes now days use cheap ingredients. So its better to find a good place that use butcher meats not cheap frozen meats . I have been stuck here in Spain for 4 years I am going back to UK in July . One of the first meals I will hVe will be a real English breakfast 😋 try and find British owners . That will help .
Englishman here. I've travelled quite widely in the States and had some very good breakfasts there.I particularly like US pancake.

Hope you get to come here one day pal and find yourself a great cafe for a full English breakfast... including black pudding, as high quality black pudding is absolutely incredible mate (as weird as that might sound lol). 🤤

I love that beard orders a dessert at the end. I think he knows he’s taking money from these places as a pro so to at least help with their breakeven he orders a high margin item like desserts. I’m sure it helps counter any rich foods too, but more so to leave a positive reputation with the restaurant rather than a scam artist type.

His videos help promote the restaurants and he's usually quite complimentary of the food.
With his vids averaging 1million views, pretty sure they'd chuck in dessert as well.
I live in Georgia, never went to big pie in the sky pizza until I saw the Beard's video. I didn't even know it existed. I've been there now, and the pizza is delicious. He's definitely helping to promote these businesses, and the cost of losing 1 challenge is probably negligible compared to the free advertising.
