- Hot off the heels of the breakfast challenge in Coalville, I took a trip a little further south to Halesowen to get it on with a food challenge which allegedly has only been conquered once in it's nine year existence!
The Why Not Inn serves up a huge mixed grill challenge, including sausages, pork loin, steak, chicken breast, gammon, black pudding, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, salad, onion rings and enough chips to sink a small tug boat! Finish it in one sitting and the meal isn't free, but you get a coveted spot on their wall of fame and a free dessert of your choice...not to mention the eternal glory...

A: I eat like this for 1 hour of a 168 hour long week. In simple terms, I eat at caloric maintenance over the course of time, meaning I don’t gain weight. If you're interested in learning more, see the ‘But How Come You're Not Fat' and 'It Was Just A Normal Day...' videos available on my channel.
Q: Don’t you worry about your health?
A: Not in particular. I’m active. I eat nutrient dense foods five days a week. And, I get quarterly bloods done, amongst other health checks.

Cannot believe you're doing a challenge in my local. The waitress who served you is called Tina and although she might come across a bit cold on the video, she's honestly one of the best people you're ever meet. So happy to see a challenge on very local soil after watching for 5 years. We tried this challenge and got about half way through. Ok,, the fact that you seemingly have no problem devouring these challenges is one thing, but after the fact, STILL able to not only eat desert, but actually enjoy it,, puts you levels up above all the rest when it comes to competitive food eating.. like a level that'll never be reached by any other!!
I love it when you go for the sausages and you're always surprised that they are hotter than expected. Never gets old!
Interesting how unimpressed the staff was. You should have asked them "are you sure I'm only the second person to finish this in nine years????!!!" :)

The moment you commented on the 70's style carpet and the whiskey menu being overkill, I saw Gordon's eyes light up with pride and determination.
Holy smokes! He finished all that food in less than half an hour! A whole table full of hungry adults (maybe 4 or 5) would have had a hard time with all that!

As a Canadian, I had to turn on subtitles and google what exactly gammon is. Similar to what we'd simply call a cured ham steak. Always love to learn something new from a channel, cheers!

dear mr beard, you never cease 2 amaze and put a smile on our faces every time you sit down to eat a gigantic meal. everytime we are out and about sitting down to eat we and the grandkids say something like, well if mr beard was here he'd eat everything on the table then ask for desert and we all laugh. thank you sir, you and mrs beard are AWESOME, we appreciate all you do. 😉

I send to look at some of these challenges and think, “ no way can beard do this one”. Not now, the challenge these days is to find something tough enough for beard, the bottomless pit! He always has room for dessert lol. Incredible.

I did it in the 1990s, it was a bugger.. THEN my brother phoned me begging me to make up a team in his 6 a side footy match. I felt sick after 30 secs running around and had the superb idea to get myself sent off... Mission accomplished -until I realised it was just a "Sin bin" and I was let back on the pitch about 10 min later... Well done

I don't know what's more astonishing, the fact you can eat all this food, or that you get all this food for $34 USD. I can't even get a hamburger and fries for $15 from anywhere besides a fast food joint. Another challenge smashed, kudos Beard
BTW, as an American, I always thought black pudding was some kind of thick dessert/pastry, I had no idea it was a sausage lol.
Food is far more expensive in the UK than the US and our portion sizes are smaller.
We pay an absolute fortune for beef compared to near enough everywhere else on the planet... Our welfare standards are higher than that in the EU however.

If there's .453 kilograms in a pound, that means you're getting about 2.2 pounds of beef in a kilogram. I think this is the best way to do these challenge, especially if your establishment is not that popular or have high income. Just don't make them free, so you don't have to cheat when a competitive eater come and visit your place. People like Beardie here will still come even if they still need to pay for the challenge, cause it's their job making videos and other people will also come and tried them just for the fun of it or maybe they watched it on his video.
Not like that one place i've watched yesterday where they purposely makes the challenge harder.

Well done Beard. You will find good desserts all over Europe but British desserts always taste unique and filling.
At the end there where you're just pushing food into your mouth with your hand, I felt that internal struggle and that's when I knew I could never do something like this. But that dessert looked absolutely delicious

The reason for that is that I couldn’t actually believe what I was witnessing - clearly you are a very unique human being ! Many of your challenges look simply impossible yet you seem to overcome them with little trouble and then for extra greediness you go for the dessert! As an American, I am DEEPLY unhappy that I can't obtain more than blood sausage. My brother regales black pudding of Ireland.
Asked one of my chef brit friends for a black pudding recipe, and he unhelpfully said it was more easy to buy it; it's smelly to make.

I am 56 years old, and this is my first time hearing the word, "gammon", without the word, "back", preceeding it. 😂 Guess ya' learn something new every day!!
Visit the UK sometime, and find a pub or restaurant that serve gammon steak. You'll be in for a treat!
