Sorry about the impromptu break my ever-patient denizens, but I’m back tonight with my favourite challenge from the Atlanta trip…although this one is in Alabama technically… I hope you enjoy it and I’ll see you again this coming Thursday at 7pm UK time for the sixth part in the series. I can't decide what's more heart-warming here. Beards reaction to the American South,.. or the American South's reaction to Beard. Either way,.. great video !..
"In America, the more dilapidated the place looks, the better the food is". This is so accurate. It means it isn't a chain restaurant and it has been there for a long time. It means QUALITY is more important. Love this quote from Beard.
So true lol. I remember when laspadas subs opened in orange City FL out of a gas station. Best cheesesteak subs ever. Now they have multiple chains throughout FL
Wow these guys seemed so nice! Considering the fact that they remembered the first guy who finished it by full name and how another guy came close but failed it specifically because of the soggy bread, they'll definitely remember you as the legends who beat it in half the time.
The soggy bread is a filler ingredient, similar to bread in turkey stuffing, which is intended to add bulk to the dish (usually because you're feeding a large number of people, but in this case because they're feeding large people).
So true, Beard-O! We call them "dives" here, and the "dive-ier" they are, the better the food. I used to go to a dive called the Hungry Bull, about the size of a broom closet. The lady cooking always had a cigarette hanging out of the corner of her mouth, ashes dangling over the food, but she made the best omelets in the world. Never judge a book by its cover!

It’s usually the “Mom n Pop” shops that have the best food! They’ve usually been in business for a very long time and the food is the number 1 priority. The ambiance is always local flavor. In Wisconsin the best bar to drink at is the local dive bar for sure

As a 71 year old Englishman, although I've never been to Alabama, I've seen Texas, and many Northern states, my impression of Southerners is a warm, hospitable people, with impeccable manners. This is true of all kinds of folk, rich or poor. Good vids these.
@@sirnunyabuiz6529 The south isn't hospitable or show impeccable manners if you're of the "wrong" race. It's a very specific reason. You people really love saying "you had to bring race into it", but that doesn't erase the fact that one of the biggest things the south is notorious for is racism. Don't want racism being brought into comments about your region of the US? Stop being aggressively racist.
@@blackmarketyardsale Or perhaps stop thinking everything has to do with race when it isn't. Ya'll can take an example from europeans. I don't live in the US fortunately, but damn would it be tiring to be in between two sides of the same coin that think everything is racist and everything is trying to oppress them despite being shown otherwise for decades now.

Flippin delicious!! You had me cracking up beard. Love your videos, I watch them with my 14yr old daughter all the time. Shes mad Mrs beard quit on the Pringle challenge.
So, there is a local (Columbus GA area) specialty called a Scrambled Dog. It is a hot dog with the weiner cut into pieces and smothered in chili. It is usually served with mustard, pickles, oyster crackers, and sometimes onion on top. It is pretty messy and requires a spoon to eat it. That is the reason there is bread in there. BBQ places have their own spin on the SD. They usually cover it in chopped pork shoulder aka butt. This looks like an extra large version of that. You are right. It is fantastic but not for the weak stomachs among us. 😁
Really appreciated the little filming sequence there at the end, nice to see other people’s reactions and stuff. Would love to see more of that in the future :) But as always, really good video Mr Beard

That video was worth the wait. One of the best parts of your videos is the interaction with other people. Other food challenge channels don't seem to understand that.
that's the only decent part if you ask me lol
The people in this video are so wholesome. Great reactions and praise is what I like to see
The way you perked up when they said they had Banana Pudding. You do so many challenges it was nice to see you come across a dessert you don't see very often that you could really enjoy. Good on ya, mate!
It’s usually the “Mom n Pop” shops that have the best food! They’ve usually been in business for a very long time and the food is the number 1 priority. The ambiance is always local flavor. In Wisconsin the best bar to drink at is the local dive bar for sure
8:19 on your timer - the look on the lady’s face 😂 she then walked off to get your T shirt ready. She knew!
I have to say, I’m so pleased that you thanked everyone as you said goodbye. Proud of you! 🇬🇧 🍺
well, i always say thanks...i just don't always film it lol
Now that was a tray of everything. Really impressive. Blew them away with the desert line. Made it look easy again. Was fun to watch. Great video
Amazing what a profound effect politeness has. Great to see you treat people so well.
I cannot believe you did a food challenge in my home state! Glad you got to get some Alabama BBQ and some banana pudding. Love watching you and hope that your whole visit enjoyable. Welcome to Alabama!
I was waiting for the white BBQ sauce! I used to love that when I lived in Bama.
was never gonna fail that, was like a starter for him , well done beardo
It really is so much cooler when the staff and even the other customers get involved; especially when they are stunned or supportive; class video!
"You got that whooped dont you" 😍 listen you can stay right here and cheer me on with THAT voice and I might just beat it.
His voice is heavy 💯🤣🤣🔥
Mrs Beard being called 'your old lady' is truly a high respect in the deep south. PLUS you didn't get hog-tied. You really were treated like the furry prince you are! They even broke out the Windex in your honor!! 🤣
Boy it ain’t no high sign of respect u prolly from Kansas
@@jacobhayes3735 Yeah but it's not bad either it just means wife or girlfriend
"Broke out the Windex" 😂😂😂
Beard, you're the best ambassador from the UK ever! Always a pleasure to watch your videos.
Really come on mate. He eats food
@@johnmacrae5263 he eats food but he's also respectful and humble. which is increasingly hard to come across nowadays. respect where respect's due i believe the saying goes, mr macrae
@@johnmacrae5263 Ya and what's more human and unifying than sharing food?
As a southerner, I’ve been waiting for you to go to a dive like this during your trip. I knew all of our idioms would crack you up 😂😂
You are by far the most funniest challenge eater I have come across! I really enjoy watching you. Thanks for the laughs.
I love when he crushes it and then asks for dessert lol. The reactions are hilarious.
Sending much love from South Mississippi! just found your channel this week, I've been recuperating from surgery this week to remove a tumor. Your humor has really made this last week bearable. Thank you! ps I love the one's that include Mrs. Beard
My thoughts are with you. I hope you are going to recover and kick that tumor's behind. Be healthy, strong, and happy!
Hope you are feeling better.
Cracking video again Adam, my favourite ones are when the staff get involved with a bit of banter. 🙌
thanks milos
You really do the UK proud 🇬🇧 as always. People are lovely if you are too & this proves it. You are a good English gent. Sending much love from the South (of England) keep on keeping on!
Never get tired of the reactions when you ask for a dessert!
This has got to be the best challenge/social interaction ever. I love that you record it. So funny. 👍
The people of Alabama are some of the most genuine folks in the entire Country. Amazing job on that challenge, glad you enjoyed your trip over here.
😂😂 really
Genuinely cousin lovers
@@yourgirlatemyass Super original bro
@@chuckn4851 sting a little considering the fact your parents are alabama alumi and cousins
Yeah whatever you say lol
The scrambled dog!!! Born in Colombus, GA just across the Chattahooche River from Phenix City! A staple in our home!
Loved the vibe in this video - I even got super excited when the dude knew you and Mrs Beard from your videos! Super wholesome! Fave vid of the trip for me so far 👌
I love how much enjoyment Beard gets from the shock of the staff when he asks about the dessert menu after the challenge
As a 71 year old Englishman, although I've never been to Alabama, I've seen Texas,
and many Northern states, my impression of Southerners is a warm, hospitable people,
with impeccable manners. This is true of all kinds of folk, rich or poor. Good vids these.
Now ask anyone who isn’t a white Englishman what they think of southerners.
@@blackmarketyardsale Like who?
@@blackmarketyardsale And that matters, why? You had to bring race in for no particular reason at all huh?
Man you so nice beard, that's why we all love and support you
Love how genuine you are to each person and how in some places they love having you there! Awesome
The doubt and reactions from everyone is always hilarious to hear, then Mr. Beard defeats the challenge and they are all in shock, then become even more amazed when he asks for dessert! Spot on Mr. Beard!!
Beard that was awesome as always. I love the staff's expressions when they see how great you're doing and can't believe it. That did look delicious.
this one was a really enjoyable watch. seemed like you were just having a meal you genuinely enjoyed and I’m glad to see you got some great southern hospitality from the locals lol “you’re one badass dude!”
This is so sweet, I come from a town like this, it's kinda nostalgic seeing you eat here. Looks just like many of the dinners around my home town.
Nothing like a big dose of wholesome content to start the day with 👍🏽
05:28 the look she gives when she realises she's about to be out of pocket! Well done beard! Thoroughly enjoyed this one!
thank you :)
I wonder if beard pays the cost even when he wins? Especially, if the people are nice.
I can't stop watching your video. I have to go back to watch and re-watch old videos. Please upload regularly !!
IVE TRIED THIS ONE! Holy crap been following for years and finally one I’ve tried!! I lived in Auburn at the time. Great job man!
How did you do? I eat 6 pieces of pizza now a d I'm done, had 8 on Fri night and was full for a day
Love your videos mate! You can see why your videos do so well and other competitive eaters not as well, your editing is great and you are a very engaging character. Well done on this one today, made it look easy 👍
thank you :)
@@Beardmeatsfood no thank you 🙏
After the "loud noise " the OH SHIIIIIT!! had me cracking up .😂😂
Flippin delicious!! You had me cracking up beard. Love your videos, I watch them with my 14yr old daughter all the time. Shes mad Mrs beard quit on the Pringle challenge.
Just brilliant! Love the videos with regular folks just being themselves. That looked bloody delicious too!
I think this might be one of my favorites that you’ve ever done…. They were just as awesome as you! Fun one sir!
That looked absolutely awesome. Southern people are awesome. Loved the reaction of the staff when you asked for dessert. Long live the beard!
It really depens wich side of the south you talking about..cause They are awesome for people who look like them, stop making them look good cause they not🤮🤷🏿♂️
The Beard does it again!! (Unsurprisingly) Thank you so much Adam for making some of the best videos on RUclips, definitely the best competitive eating channel there is. 🤟🏽
Something tells me he never takes his money back he’s so nice the way he treats staff wherever he goes
I'd say he gives it as a tip
It’s always hilarious to me that people love people who can eat a lot of food
Especially when one weighs 155 pounds..😂
Good to see you back, Beard! (Glad it was travel that kept you away and not a digestive tract emergency).
The restaurant staff were awesome! I’m sure this will increase their exposure and customers.
Adam from behalf of a British man thank you 😂 . You are just the don of eating🎉
