Need to make it an new open world yugioh game where you can move around freely! Have your own customized character and do what you want like real life, but still have some sort of storyline to it. I’d play the hell out of it

I wish they would consider making a Yugioh Game similar to the 5D’s ones with the create your own character option, be able to run around and duel Ai’s, and updates to include new cards or band list updates for multiplayer.
So it's the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime story, but they follow the rules of the real life version of the game, and no endless filler. That alone is good enough for me. This could be a quick and easy way to get caught up on the lore.

They had the chance to really do decent on it considering there wasnt much diversity in game types on vita mostly fighting and rpgs id say, plus a lengthy, play anywhere etc game that anyone can have on the go, without the bs of it being on your phone and ads and microtransactions. They missed out for sure, i would have paid 40 for a physical copy and even considered digital if on sale

I've even been looking into the old gameboy advance games but THIS finally looks like exactly what I've been searching for.
This is the closest thing to what you are looking for..it is very close to having everything and I bet they will update the additional. Everything comes with the game too.

@@phantom2369 I've only been playing through the original series story mode so far but it looks like the rules are based on whichever series you playthrough. I haven't seen the link system show up yet. I dont see why I shouldn't be able to customize whether I want the link system in other modes or not. But I still need to check the other modes.

I can't wait to play this.. I loved legacy of the duelist since it first came out. I only wish the game got updated some more, but atleast we get this.
There's a game on steam called Faeria, and it has a very similar style to Dungeon Dice Monsters. It's sort of DDM mixed with Hearthstone. Might be worth checking out if you like those style of games.
But the AI was too dumb, you could just spam level 1 monsters to get to the other side asap and then kill the leader before the AI even knew what's going on. Sadly I never had a chance to play agains a real player, so I have no idea if the game would be fun.

Why the hell do we need to wait so long when the japanese version has full english release, support, hopefully theres a good reason for that, also does this game have the darkest diablos cards and the fairy tale cards, i tried looking for them in the card database but they werent there, if i remeber correctly they were relased before november 2018

At least the ones that have TCG/OCG counterparts. If you mean the Fairy -Tail- cards like Luna, Sleeper, etc they are also in the game via the Jesse Booster Pack unlocked through story. Shoot! This is enticing. I planned to get the game digital because I have Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as physical copy and only want it as the only game in physical form. Now, I read that the game will have promotional cards with physical game purchase made me have second thoughts.
@Beatles life eh game itself was only $20 and you could skip most of the dlc if you wanted (I only bought like 2 of them). Had at least 100 hours of play on it...that is damn good value for a game nowadays and this version is $40 and includes everything from the original and all dlc and adds the link evolution stuff. This is actually really great imo

Did they improve the Spell/Trap activation detection? When I tried the PS4 demo, the options either asked if you wanted to activate something with every trivial text box, or expected you to hold skip and hope you don't miss your window for the card you wanted to play.
Yes, that is the computer's way of indicating what you want. If a card has an effect, it will ask you if you would like to use the effect [Yes] or [No]
The thing is, there are so many instances when spells and traps can be activated that it pretty much has to ask you if you want to activate it otherwise you might miss your opportunity and then you're boned. Annoying at first, but to play Yugioh effectively it is kind of necessary
I don’t know if it’s just me but I miss the times when it had 3D animated monster on top of the card. I love spirit caller and it’s one of the most perfect yugioh game for me but this one is also amazing but I do prefer to have a 3D monster on top of it, it gives me the real yugioh feels.
You will def get your money worth with this game! It is a great game to learn the latest rules and cards especially considering you have a foundation in the game to work from.
I recently got this game and I like it a lot but I’ve yet to have it crash on my switch and even using story based decks this game gives quite a challenge. For example tèa has so many equip and support magic cards for her monsters she got a magician of faith from 300 to 5500 attack in one turn
Hello bro. Thanks for your review! Just one question. One thing I really like of Yugioh is to play with ALL the cards that have been created. In this game, will I be able to build a deck that allows me to play against the PC or my friends with banned cards? (like Monster Reborn, Harpies Feather Duster and stuff). Since I don't really like going to tournaments and dont really care about online gaming vs other players, I just want to know that if I wanna duel for a bit against the PC I will be able to use any card that has been created. That's why I stopped playing Duel Links on my phone. Please help me with this doubt before I buy the game.
Nice review! I phased out of Yugioh around the time of Battle City on the GBA (100+ Hrs of usage out of that gem) Saw this in the Switch shop for half price so thought it might be worth checking out, I'm vaguely aware of all the new mechanics in the modern Yugioh game and didn't want to purchase straight away in case I found out in the opening duel all the decks from the Anime had been modded to incorperate all the modern fuckery haha

As someone who pretty much only cares for the single player part and such and has the platforms for both regular and link evolution, would you say the story modes are better in the original what uses master rule 3 or in link evolution where master rule 4 apparently messes up some decks from what I've heard some people say?
I don't know how the game handles mr4 for the early generations, but almost every archetype received a new link support, there are only few decks who got screwed with the change of rules.

I’ve been watching the yugioh anime on Netflix since the start of this year... I’ve been quite busy so I haven’t been able to watch all the episodes as quick as I would’ve liked to... the story campaign is great for shortening the story whilst keeping it to the point...I’m a bit disappointed that the Noah sequence in the original anime isn’t in the game... or at least I don’t think it is... because I would’ve liked to be able to take on the big 5 in duels... and then duel against Noah like how it plays out in the anime... everything else about the game is great... however the 3d animated cutscenes that were removed from the original shouldn’t have been removed but instead been allowed to toggle on and off... seeing a 3d dark magician on the playing field using dark magic attack sounds awesome when you haven’t played the original LOTD
@@taneaapochicago Really all they need is an update. I mean, they did add 2 new sets of cards to the arc 5 series, for free, a couple years ago. I don't expect to get everything with Vrains and the new rules for free, but 1 duel and it's reverse definitely isn't too much to ask for.
You're all probably aware by now, but Konami has already stated they won't be updating the old games. And that is because they can't, they made this version almost from scratch, since Master Rule 4 is always in effect, and it affects any deck that has an extra deck or uses Pendulums, including the Duel Monsters era duels.
There isn't. All Multiplayer match types have the banlist in effect by default. In Deck Select, it won't display any decks you have made that have forbidden cards in them or too many of the Limited/Semi-Limited cards.
Robust single player campaign where I can play with the actual character's decks from the show? Sign me up! Also would be nice as when GX came around I lost interest (think I was 15-16 then) and 5D seemed stupid but it'd be neat to see all the new rules and such.

kinda wish they would just update the PC and console versions. or just release a package that has all the dlc as well as the new update of the game. I kinda wanna see what link summonings all about.
The problem is that with master rule four they changed the entire game, the where gonna make you be able to change between the two but decided not to, so an update to the old game wouldn’t work, it has to be a new game
Great review & explanations I had the original and everyone online would use dlc decks and I never wanted to buy the almost 10 docs Link evolution came out at 40!! I was like no, then they had on sale for 13$ I grabbed it and it's to me fun My best advice get it on sale, cause your basically getting all the dlc and few extra cards
what happens in the earlier stories when you try to extra deck summon? do the extra monster zones exist in all the stories or only in the ones where you have access to links
I want them to flesh out the booster pack buying and make it the most important part of the game. I want to spend 2 hours playing and only be able to afford one pack. Have the pack be fully 3D rendered with full reflective aluminum packaging. Have a beautiful opening noise. Slowly show the back of the card and then reveal the cards one by one on a pedestal and an overhead light. Then if you get rare cards you can display them in beautiful wooden frames.

I really like 3d models of the monsters so I'll stick with duel links for now till they add that in or make a game based on 3d modeling of the monsters

It will. The first story duel for each series is a tutorial that teaches you the new stuff introduced in that series like synchro, xyz, etc and they’re all taught using the new rules.
So then the cards in "Order of the Spellcasters" structure deck isnt in there? I'm fairly new to yugioh and i bought muself that deck to start myself off an i love the cards it has, would I be able to recreate it eventually if at all?
You are correct that all of the new cards Order of the Spellcasters introduced are not included in the base game. We don't know if/when DLC or Updates will come, so whether or not you can recreate it eventually is up in the air until we get an announcement on whether or not Link Evolution will get future DLC like the original version did.
Damn I’m impressed. I’m a duel links player and I’ve wanted to get into the tcg for some time so that I can mess around with different archetypes. This game definitely will allow me to do that without much trouble besides the ban list. And $40 too! This is definitely gonna be a must for the system

It’s an international copy of the game. Just like all other games in the Japanese estore, which get a international release, there is no need to fear any restrictions. I’ve picked up this game as well.

I have a question, so does this game also clearly explain all the rules? I'm a person who has watched the original show and understand the basics but don't understand what some things mean or how some cards work for what decks. And type advantages I don't get yet either. But I am a fan of the original show and I saw a good deal for this game and I may be interested, is this game good for a beginner interested to the actual cards and game play? Or is it better for people who are more die hard tcg fans?
What disappoints me is the lack of animation You'd think it have at least graphics that are as good as Duel Links, Tag Force looks even more visually appealing than it and that's disappointing

Yeah. None of the story mode opponents have those new card types in their decks until they’d been introduced. While the entire game does follow the newest rules, the new card types are kept out of earlier story arc AI decks.

I recently got this game and I like it a lot but I’ve yet to have it crash on my switch and even using story based decks this game gives quite a challenge. For example tèa has so many equip and support magic cards for her monsters she got a magician of faith from 300 to 5500 attack in one turn
Hello bro. Thanks for your review! Just one question. One thing I really like of Yugioh is to play with ALL the cards that have been created. In this game, will I be able to build a deck that allows me to play against the PC or my friends with banned cards? (like Monster Reborn, Harpies Feather Duster and stuff).
Since I don't really like going to tournaments and dont really care about online gaming vs other players, I just want to know that if I wanna duel for a bit against the PC I will be able to use any card that has been created. That's why I stopped playing Duel Links on my phone.
Please help me with this doubt before I buy the game.

There aren't many different modes but Single Player and Multiplayer.

Nice review! I phased out of Yugioh around the time of Battle City on the GBA (100+ Hrs of usage out of that gem)
Saw this in the Switch shop for half price so thought it might be worth checking out, I'm vaguely aware of all the new mechanics in the modern Yugioh game and didn't want to purchase straight away in case I found out in the opening duel all the decks from the Anime had been modded to incorperate all the modern fuckery haha
Update: I got through the OG yugioh series thinking this was the best game ever, got about four duels into '5Ds' and closed the game lmfao modern yugioh is fucked

Last yugioh game i played was for the wii. Enjoyed it but I usually run a custom made zombie deck and not all cards were available in the 5D's game
As someone who pretty much only cares for the single player part and such and has the platforms for both regular and link evolution, would you say the story modes are better in the original what uses master rule 3 or in link evolution where master rule 4 apparently messes up some decks from what I've heard some people say?
I don't know how the game handles mr4 for the early generations, but almost every archetype received a new link support, there are only few decks who got screwed with the change of rules.
@@lucianofrancesco4742 But considering the story decks are made for more anime accuracy the story decks apparently don't use Link monsters at all until VRAINS duels.

It does not. They chose a single artwork for each card.

I’ve been watching the yugioh anime on Netflix since the start of this year... I’ve been quite busy so I haven’t been able to watch all the episodes as quick as I would’ve liked to... the story campaign is great for shortening the story whilst keeping it to the point...I’m a bit disappointed that the Noah sequence in the original anime isn’t in the game... or at least I don’t think it is... because I would’ve liked to be able to take on the big 5 in duels... and then duel against Noah like how it plays out in the anime... everything else about the game is great... however the 3d animated cutscenes that were removed from the original shouldn’t have been removed but instead been allowed to toggle on and off... seeing a 3d dark magician on the playing field using dark magic attack sounds awesome when you haven’t played the original LOTD
Will the version for the PS4 and XBONE be getting updated with any of the new content?

@@taneaapochicago Really all they need is an update. I mean, they did add 2 new sets of cards to the arc 5 series, for free, a couple years ago. I don't expect to get everything with Vrains and the new rules for free, but 1 duel and it's reverse definitely isn't too much to ask for.
You're all probably aware by now, but Konami has already stated they won't be updating the old games. And that is because they can't, they made this version almost from scratch, since Master Rule 4 is always in effect, and it affects any deck that has an extra deck or uses Pendulums, including the Duel Monsters era duels.
quick question, Is ther a way to do an online duel against a friend where the ban lists dont apply?
There isn't. All Multiplayer match types have the banlist in effect by default. In Deck Select, it won't display any decks you have made that have forbidden cards in them or too many of the Limited/Semi-Limited cards.

Also would be nice as when GX came around I lost interest (think I was 15-16 then) and 5D seemed stupid but it'd be neat to see all the new rules and such.

Duel Links's paywall can be very frustrating
kinda wish they would just update the PC and console versions. or just release a package that has all the dlc as well as the new update of the game. I kinda wanna see what link summonings all about.
The problem is that with master rule four they changed the entire game, the where gonna make you be able to change between the two but decided not to, so an update to the old game wouldn’t work, it has to be a new game
They can't update the original due to paid DLC people paid for become free with the updated version.

We don’t know. They haven’t said anything yet about future updates. Possibly but we don’t know for sure.
I wish they had games vs the AI where the AI can use a deck you made or a random deck of some form.

Link evolution came out at 40!!
I was like no, then they had on sale for 13$ I grabbed it and it's to me fun
My best advice get it on sale, cause your basically getting all the dlc and few extra cards
what happens in the earlier stories when you try to extra deck summon? do the extra monster zones exist in all the stories or only in the ones where you have access to links
The entire game uses the new rules so in the earlier series you still have to put fusions/synchros/etc in the extra monster zones.
I want them to flesh out the booster pack buying and make it the most important part of the game. I want to spend 2 hours playing and only be able to afford one pack. Have the pack be fully 3D rendered with full reflective aluminum packaging. Have a beautiful opening noise. Slowly show the back of the card and then reveal the cards one by one on a pedestal and an overhead light. Then if you get rare cards you can display them in beautiful wooden frames.
So. It will be possible to build a own deck from the beginning and play with it through the story?

Just picked this up, I haven't played a Yugioh game since Nightmare Troubadour for the Nintendo DS and I haven't really been into Yugioh since 2006. Might be fun
I wish they could do an ante rule where if you lose or surrender, you have to give up rare cards yourself lol add a little bit of risk to the duels.

It will. The first story duel for each series is a tutorial that teaches you the new stuff introduced in that series like synchro, xyz, etc and they’re all taught using the new rules.

So then the cards in "Order of the Spellcasters" structure deck isnt in there? I'm fairly new to yugioh and i bought muself that deck to start myself off an i love the cards it has, would I be able to recreate it eventually if at all?
You are correct that all of the new cards Order of the Spellcasters introduced are not included in the base game. We don't know if/when DLC or Updates will come, so whether or not you can recreate it eventually is up in the air until we get an announcement on whether or not Link Evolution will get future DLC like the original version did.
Damn I’m impressed. I’m a duel links player and I’ve wanted to get into the tcg for some time so that I can mess around with different archetypes. This game definitely will allow me to do that without much trouble besides the ban list. And $40 too! This is definitely gonna be a must for the system

Stupid question incoming: do you have all cars available from the start witout going online, or do you have to buy them in the card shop?
You have to unlock them via story battles and buying from packs with in-game currency.
So what are the drawbacks of buying the japaneese version? Will i have to buy japaneese eshop cards everytime i want to buy something in game? Will i only be paired against japaneese players( even after the western version is released?) Etc. Just want to know if there are any downsides

It’s an international copy of the game. Just like all other games in the Japanese estore, which get a international release, there is no need to fear any restrictions. I’ve picked up this game as well.
Ricci K so will I be able to say buy in game cards using my normal eshop account? Or will I need more Japanese eshop cards. Just want to be sure before I buy it because I plan on spending money on the game

I have a question, so does this game also clearly explain all the rules? I'm a person who has watched the original show and understand the basics but don't understand what some things mean or how some cards work for what decks. And type advantages I don't get yet either. But I am a fan of the original show and I saw a good deal for this game and I may be interested, is this game good for a beginner interested to the actual cards and game play? Or is it better for people who are more die hard tcg fans?

Yeah. None of the story mode opponents have those new card types in their decks until they’d been introduced.
While the entire game does follow the newest rules, the new card types are kept out of earlier story arc AI decks.
