The easiest way of doing this in survival is: 1. Build the pistons 2. Place scaffolding (whatever block type you choose) starting from the top of one piston head and ending 2 blocks away from the other piston head 3. Place and weld merge block on the other piston head facing towards the scaffolding. Turn this merge block off (the collision mesh for the merging face is smaller when off). 4. Place and weld merge block on the scaffolding facing first merge block. 5. Turn first merge block on 6. If they don't merge immediately, just place a block on the side of one of the merge blocks; that usually seems to trigger it 7. Repeat for any additional pistons
This helped me make the hammer fists on my alpha cherno mech from pacific rim. He was a very hard project and i had given up until this video which made me think maybe i could redesign him. In the end i only needed to add a bit and adjust a few things but yeah. Alot of my projects go that way but your videos help inspire me to keep trying and testing, thankyou so much for posting them
I think they have nerffed the power over the last several updates to reduce clang, I'm like 90% sure that when they added that slider the default was higher.

Glad to hear it Dr!
Great tutorial man! Thank you 👍

I remember doing this back with my underground base on pistons. I'll eventually finish it after I finally return home.

its been 50.0 kN for years
Good to see you on YT again!
summon clang with this one simple trick
Not anymore babyyyy
I've made a tower with 20 levels, each with 9 parallel pistons, no clang.
Thank you! Now I have a perfect large elevator.
You sir... I tip my hat to you.
Thank you!
O yeah! Very nice.
Think it would be possible to build a large robot that is configured of rovers and ships? You're the only person I think who's up to the challenge.
more of a challenge than I want to do :)
how do you get the platform to like uo
Hey, all your mech vids led me here and I'm trying to build my own and I have no clue on how to loop rotors/hinges with the timer blocks. Plz help?
I have a world called How to make a mech that explains it
@@BlackArmor718 alright, I'll go check it out. thanks
How did you copy that section so quickly
Oh damn
How safe is this to use?
Plenty safe as long as you send the same velocities to all pistons.
The other way is to attach one piston then place the other piston heads the attach them
This is the easier way to do it in survival IMO.
How do you attach them without Build Vision?
that's a mod
What button do you hold to keep a grid along another grid before placing it?
You have to move the grid on your clipboard into another grid and it will orient itself the same way
What about using Attach Piston Head option?
That’s a mod currently only rotors have an attach head option
Doesn’t work for Xbox one. Tried it multiple times following this tutorial and clang wouldn’t allow it... pissing me off.
Blackarmor can you try to port sum of the mechs on Xbox please I hope you are not to Busy
It will not work the same without scripts
@@BlackArmor718 ok
Doesn’t seem to be working anymore
Up your force on the pistons
Just tried and and still nothing
Tried 0-999 and nothing
Moves a small amount then locks up
I’m in survival does it only work in creation mode?
Could you make a mech for Xbox
?
I won't work as well without scripts
