PRESS RELEASE: ARKANSAS STATE POLICE TRAFFIC STOP NETS MORE THAN 800 POUNDS OF HIGH-GRADE ILLEGAL MARIJUANA At 8:19 p.m. on Monday, December 4, 2023, Arkansas State Police Trooper Ana Escamilla made a routine traffic stop on Interstate 40 near the 173-mile marker in Lonoke County. The Trooper detected the strong smell of marijuana, searched the vehicle, and discovered six suitcases filled with a total of 869 pounds of illegal, high-grade cannabis (hashish). The estimated street value of the illegal, black-market marijuana is $3.6 million. The driver of the vehicle, Rene Rodriguez, 33, of Brazil reported that he was driving from California to Miami, Florida. He was taken into custody and transported to the Lonoke County Detention Center and charged with drug trafficking, possession of drug paraphernalia and other charges. Rodriguez negotiated a GUILTY plea to POSSESSION WITH PURPOSE TO DELIVER CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE SCHED VI = between 25 lbs and 100 lbs (CLASS B FELONY). This carried a possible penalty of 5-20 years in jail and a fine of $15,000. He was sentenced to 96 months of probation and a $1,000 fine.

@@theodoresiler47 These videos of this particular officer are outlandish. She does pit maneuvers on motorcycle riders. They're constantly putting the public at risk by not aborting high speed chases over minor speeding infractions. The USJD should really have close look at these folks. What they're doing in Arkansas is not normal. It looks like they're masking their tyranny behind a DEI hire here, too.
@@nunyabuziness8421 it was a "routine traffic stop," which means they may have done something minor, like following too closely or staying in the left lane for too long. And "strong odor of marijuana" gives probable cause to search. Bottom line is she wanted to pull them over because they were out of state and she followed them until she had a reason. Happens all over the country.
She wasn't going to put the dog down, it's because they have mostly kill "shelters" in the south. It wss a scare tactic to get her to talk. As a dog lover it bothered me, but I know it wss all talk. As far as the government goes, yep he got $1,000 fine and a lengthy probation period. But I guarantee he talked to some DEA agents, and did a little snitching. We don't need to worry about the law but he needs to worry about who's ever product got seized
Jacob Bird is the “Pit Master” and Ana Escamilla is a Boss Level drug sleuth. The beauty of a well structured team is everyone is an expert in the roll they play. When working as a team, everyone gets caught. To bad it is a ‘Catch and Release’ system that they must work within.
See, you say that but Ana said it's "not weed" a few different times and asked if it's cocaine and fentanyl after saying she smelled weed when she made contact. Maybe she 's smell blind and just uses the "i smell weed" as a default to get probably cause to search.
@@MegaWhiteBeaner hashish is not common in Arkansas. Weed is leafy and this was not weed but, it smells heavily like weed. Back in the 70’s, I had a process for extracting the THC oil from weed, the first step in making hashish. I’m actually surprised that she didn’t ask if it was black tar heroin. Ana knew what she was smelling but was unfamiliar with the form, even after he explained that it was hashish. FYI: Hashish is not common these days, unlike back in the 60’s and 70’s.
This trooper doesn't know what hashish is, which is a form of Marijuana. Threatening that the girls dog would be killed at the Pound if she didn't talk may be a violation of the 4th amendment.
First of all hash is not that common in the midwest, it tends to be more of a coastal thing or in areas with strong cartel connections. Arkansas has medicinal marijuana, and my understanding is Hash doesn't fall under that category. Also you do realize that the Troopers will Bluff and not tell the suspect what they actually know right? So make an assumption is not the best thing to do
@PolicePursuits I guarantee that that was an empty threat. Can a casual person it's quite obvious this girl is very naive on what's going on and what's going to happen. I also think the mail was very naive on what's going on and what's going to happen. Which is also why I think he rolled over and cut a deal which is why he got such a light sentence. Now when it comes to the dog, I guarantee she was bluffing trying to get the girl upset so she would talk. It's a completely valid form of interrogation and is used by cops every day. How many times did cops tell you they're going to get your kids taken away, when they absolutely know that's not going to happen. It's the same thing, lighten up
She stops every single car she sees with out of state license plates. The odds are she is going to find something after so many traffic stops. Every time you see one of her drug busts, she’s stopped a hundred cars before it. It’s the luck of the draw.
@@BW-kv9wj exactly right. I would love to see how many she pulls over who are 100% legal and just passing through. I'm betting the overwhelming majority of them.
Why are Arkansas Troopers still working their jobs? You guys are gals risk your lives and all they do is give them probation and a small fine!!! Sorry but I would quit. I’m not going to risk my life for nothing.
Which border? Ships, planes, people..... All bring drugs in. It's always about money. There should be prisons just for drug dealers/mules. No probation.
Never answer questions unrelated to the “traffic stop”. All of these questions have zero to do with “speeding”. ESPECIALLY if your plan is to traffic illegal drugs across state lines. And don’t break ANY traffic laws for Gods sake. Geniuses in the act. Ana’s not the brightest bulb, either.
What you don't see is the conversation that took place inside the police station, between the drug test Force agents, who were more than likely drug enforcement. And there's a reason he got off with $1,000 fine and probation. He 100% rolled on whoever gave that stuff to him he cut a deal that's why he got off so easy
@@Wyomingchief what you don’t see is the feds DECLINED to prosecute so no deal could ever been offered. Arkansas ended having to deal with it and they certainly didn’t want to warehouse a immigrant for something that’s legal in most states. It’s better just to deport him and slap the probation tag on it. Feds don’t care about weed dealers anymore. You can buy it legally on most corners
@@Bill-im6ntdo you guys understand how the criminal justice system works or even how law enforcement works? Because everything you're saying is hilariously ridiculous😂😂 There's only one reason this man didn't get a jail sentence, and that's because he cooperated. Yes he wasn't Cooperative on camera, but I guarantee you when they laid out the facts to him in a interrogation room, he rolled as fast as he could. And yeah it is a huge deterrent because he knows that's literally his one and only get out of jail free card. Now we just got to worry about looking over his shoulder for the next couple decades because somebody's going to be coming after him. He might very well wish he hadn't cooperated by the time it's all said and done😂
Actually in some parts hash is rarely seen. I worked 26 years on the streets with the LAPD, 5 years with a narco unit, and never came across hash. Crack...more than you can imagine, like gobs of it.. Some meth, but rarely. A fair amount of heroin. Lots of weed...when it was still illegal in CA. No hash though.
@@Cgopat How about bath salts. No one can tell me what bath salts actually are. Do you run into Bath and Body Works and get some and crush them and snort them?
Wow are you that naive? Cuz I'm going to assume you're just naive and not, let's say uninformed😂 There's only one way that guy got the deal he got. He got that deal by snitching and turning over a lot of valuable information. He's the low man on the totem pole, they don't care about him they want who's above him. And I guarantee that information went to the DEA and a case that they're working. Sad thing is he doesn't realize he probably signed his own death warrant by cooperating

Those people continue driving rental cars will never learn not to enter Arkansas at any time. Because they have Ana Escamilla and she will hunt you down. Great job, trooper!
Love to watch Trooper Escamilla in action! A charge that carries 5 -20 yrs and he gets probation???? Actually, he has way more to fear from whoever he was delivering the hash to than the US court system. Unless he can come up with the $3.6 million pretty quickly.
Nah, they know there’s a chance that they will lose it, they don’t force you to pay it back that’s some movie stuff. They make you take a second trip with twice as much. The drug traffickers understand only so much will get through. But this dude snitched for sure.
I guess littering in Arkansas is not a crime if you're a police officer, she just threw her gloves on the ground and left them. Also she doesn't seatbelt her passengers either.
Really!! Probation and a 1k fine!? That’s absolutely ridiculous. No wonder no one is afraid of doing shit like this and getting caught. The payoff is certainly worth the risk for a slap on the wrist.
I’ve seen this lady’s videos, she is a lawsuit waiting to happen. If they got off easy, then it’s because she doesn’t follow proper protocol and procedures.
It's broken because the money addicts are in control. Get money out of justice and the system would no longer be broken. You don't believe what I'm saying? If what I'm saying is false then why the slap on the wrist but the decapitating fine? It's all about the money, and he can't make money while he's in jail, right? Now he' s going to have to sling some toot instead of hash, to make up for that fine. That his employers could pay in two briefcases...
1977. Eastern England. I was asked if I wanted to purchase some hashish. SURE!!! Dude brings out a brick, about half a kilo, and asked 300 quid for it. I did the math, converted to USD, and figured that it was the same price I paid for weed back in the states. The brick had a big ol' dragon stamped on it. I brought over a bunch of my friends to show it off. The hash was so fresh that it crumbled like a brownie. The smell was amazing. It was true two-hit sh!t. Two hits, and you're BAKED. Lasted me for months. I was in the Air Force at the time, and thank God I wasn't randomly tested. I finally stopped, completely, after I made Staff Sergeant, and had a kid. Too much to lose at that point.
My two older brothers spent a summer in Spain for school and when they were on layover in Morocco, some guy in a long white gown approached them asking if they would like to buy some hashish. As it was the end of the trip, my brother was low on cashish, and the guy looked at his Levi 501 jeans and asked about a trade. My brother said he had 2 pair in his suitcase and the guy said that would work, so they did the trade - my brother pulled out the jeans and replaced with the burlap wrapped brick and then went and got on their flight back to Iowa. (this too, was 1977!) Serious risk my brothers both took, but man was that ever insane smoke! It was really dark brown on the outside and a crumbly caramel color on the inside! As I recall, it too, had a dragon as well as the original burlap. Amazing experience!
869 lbs of an illegal drug and they got probation and a fine?! What a joke in comparison to what the law says it should be. They will be back in business tomorrow carrying even more. No wonder this will never change.
God use a little bit of logic people. This is just a very small man in a very large organization. He cooperated and because of that that's why he only got a fine and probation. But he gave up a lot of information. And that was his one get out of jail free card. It won't happen again, more than likely because he's not going to live out the year
It's absolutely killing me to hear what his sentence was. My son got 10 years for being with a meth maker. He had no drugs in him, or on him. He refused to snitch and lost 10 years of his life. 😢
Well you can tell him from me, that he was very dumb. Snitching is a time honored tradition, and it is what you are witnessing here. Someone snitched on this mule, and this mule snitched to get the probation deal. This is how the game is played.
No one cares about marijuana in Arkansas, you aren’t going to go to jail for 10/ years nowadays there is a reason why she asked if it was fentanyl or cocaine a couple times because that’s what their bigger concern was. He’s lucky because he’s a foreigner and they don’t want to deal with them, but if it was a Mexican or American they would’ve got 5 years minimum welcome to a merica
They don't have to be an expert to spot a vehicle with out-of-state plates, then follow it until they follow too closely or touch the white fog line on the right or stay in the left lane for too long. Back in the late 90s, an ASP trooper friend told me this: If we want to pull you over, we will follow you until you give us a reason.

Likely an informant sentence. They get off easy in return for helping to catch someone higher up the chain. Truthfully it’s risking a death sentence. Snitches don’t fare well.
Obvious someone gave up the drug circle's delivery point and contact: how else could they get away with this little punishment, unless they ratted? The female perp is the one in charge, for she was totally calm during all of this.
Well I’d say “GOD” had nothing to do with the light punishment. It’s the WOKE JUSTICE system that saved this dirtbags ass. Under report income and the IRS wants to throw you in prison, run drugs and get a slap on the wrist.
