They offered to fix it, not them, dash has to come apart, but they send it out was going to take over a week so I got impatient and got another vehicle. I really wanted it. Hey Paul, right at the end you said Android based. Paul, I don’t recall any videos or your classroom instruction where you cover scan tool input and output controls and in this case explaining what’s happening with the the blend door and HVAC module using the scan tool ??…a lot of our Corvette owners have Tech 2’s but don’t know how to use output controls to further diagnose their cars instead of just reading a code and changing a part !!
The input side of the blend door is a potentiometer, which is Chapter 7 material. The output side and using the scan tool in a bidirectional mode is Chapter 3 material (Transistor Drivers and Output Solenoids) I have probably more than a 100 videos, both lectures and case studies covering this material. 🙂

To me there's no point in buying a mechanic's grade level scan tool unless it has bi-directional control. Spend the extra money to get it. This video is a prime example of why.
Really I think for a tool to be considered "mechanics grade" it has to have some bi directional controls and functions. Otherwise in my opinion if it doesnt it's just a generic obd2 code reader for the diy contingent and certainly not a pro level tool.
There's no point in buying a bi directional scanner if you have no idea how to use it. Saw a guy with a snap on modis but didn't have a clue about short term fuel trim, he basically had a $5000 code reader.

@davidreynolds4684 1. make sure you have a good power and ground at the pump 2. Pinch off the return line or block it off and recheck psi. This will test for a stuck open fuel psi regulator. That system should put out near 100 psi with that line blocked if the pump is good. It is very unlikely this is your issue though based on your symptoms and the fact that I've never, not once, seen a stuck open regulator on one of these systems.
@@ScannerDanner I'll just have to save up for a bit. For now the one I have will suffice, it's a couple of years old Matco branded Launch scantool. It works fine but with a $1400 update cost I'll just save the extra to get all the fancy new features.
The topdon Phoenix has probably 90% of everything this fancy one has. It just doesn't have that topographical map where it shows each module-- But that's not really necessary anyway. But as for actuating things and reading sensors and codes, etc.. It's hard to be the sub $1k scanners these days.
just think how easy it would be to diag your power wagon if the climate control stopped working. its like my 1994 ram 2500 max of 10 min without any scanner you can diag it. the more i learn the more i love 2002 and older cars and trucks
I have the Matco Max Flex Pro scanner and it looks strikingly like your Topdon scanner, design and topology. But Matco rebrands most of their stuff, so not too surprising. Nice first look at the tool. 👍👍
How you fix that is to NOT USE IT.. Stop adjusting that dial so much. I just leave everything on full blast and either turn it on or OFF. Period. Leaving it running, while barely turned up is just silly to me. Either blast it full steam or leave it off. Operating the stystem this way makes it last much longer. You don't need your AC or heater running all the time in the background, even though you have it turned way down; that's why these things tend to fail for some people. Stop fiddling with it. lol
The Phoenix Plus is around $1000 and is more than capable. Combine that with a Pico scope and you are all set for way less money. A 4424A starts at about $1600.

It's helped my memory some. Sadly other days I don't know whether to scratch my watch or wind my ass.
@davidreynolds4684
1. make sure you have a good power and ground at the pump
How you take out airbag ?
Disconnect the battery first and then wait a few minutes
Looks like a good tool, wish I had 5k to get it
You can get the Phoenix Smart for under 2500
The Phoenix Lite is $800!
@calholli this model comes with a 4 channel lapscope too
just think how easy it would be to diag your power wagon if the climate control stopped working. its like my 1994 ram 2500 max of 10 min without any scanner you can diag it. the more i learn the more i love 2002 and older cars and trucks
I have the Matco Max Flex Pro scanner and it looks strikingly like your Topdon scanner, design and topology. But Matco rebrands most of their stuff, so not too surprising. Nice first look at the tool. 👍👍
It seems to have more features
7:00 the commanded needs a different name
14:00 you press cancel to release control back to the car
✌️✌️
Speaking of a guy name Tom, Paul what’s up with Tommy Wolf from Positive Lead Diagnostics?
Yeah was great channel
Busy with work and two little ones! But he's killing it at VW! Hoping to have a few beers with him tonight
Replace plastic parts with parts from Heater Treater, you DO NOT want a come-back.
Heater Treater?
Common failure on Malibu's too. Just a domestic epidemic.
Stop fiddling with it. lol
Same as the Thinktool pros and Launch.....probably made by the same company.
3.5L*
Messing with air bag power still on. Risky Business. I don't like to tempt fate, i disconnect ground & wait before begin. I'm a flat rate guy Toyota
Agree!!
🤣😬finger cross no dash removal require
Damper motor gear probably stripped click click click or weak
3.6? You don't work on many Fords. We can teĺl.
🤣
I guess we can put away the AC stuff now. I left a 30# bottle of 134a in my truck all of last winter and never used it
You forgot the calibration on the new motor door hvac
That's ok.. It's not off by much. Less than 1%. I think it kinda learns over time anyway, as you crank it from 0% to 100% and vise versa.
@@calholli it's not only the % is also the speed of action versus all the sensors
First.
I've been fixin' almost everything for years with just a flat head and electric tape. . . to hell with all these fancy-wancy tablet thingy's, smh'
Topdon Phoenix max is$5100 from a Google search
I sell them for $4500 with 3 year subscription in USA.
The Phoenix Plus is around $1000 and is more than capable. Combine that with a Pico scope and you are all set for way less money. A 4424A starts at about $1600.
.... how much for TopDon Tool
.... which Regions of the world does the tool cover ?

These are fair enough questions.... eg I am in the Southern Hemisphere so Australia , Some USA , English , European are Applicable
I post this here to give another reasonable point of view

Thank You Paul
Your work , Your information , Your presentation is Brilliant Sir as Always
It covers all regions cloud programming needs vpn in USA and Spain. There are no fakes just and autel has no fakes either it’s just regional sales with ip limitations. TopDon has thinkcar programming in it as well so you’ll find them the same. As a USA seller we are retricted to USA/Canada sales. Hope that makes sense. Just to Clarify you can use/buy anywhere on the globe
I sell in USA for $4500 with 3 years. Alibaba is china support and $3600 the $2600 is if you buy 20+ is how they do it typicality. I’d never buy from them but it’s a real max
Good job ❤❤❤❤
