I have a Discover card, and the ease of use is great. They keep raising my credit limit without having to do anything (around $15,500 now). I treat it like a debit card, pay it off every month, pay no interest, and get 2-5% cash back on purchases. I have no idea why anyone would use debit anymore.

The Discover it secured is a tried and true card that is hard to beat if you have no credit history. However, I always recommend that people get started as early as possible in creating their Chase trifecta so they don't have to worry about the 5/24 rule at all (this could mean starting with the Chase Freedom Student if you're in college). The most infamous rule in the credit card game never fails to annoy people, so it's best to get ahead of it! 🤣 Always love your credit card content Graham.
