The day of the month you make your payment also matters. Make your payment (minimum or payoff) prior to the closing date of the account. That way, the lower balance will be reported to the credit bureau. This will lower your debt to available ratio, which will raise your score over time.

@@redlunamod6090 Banks report your balance on the closing date of the account to the credit bureaus. Example: you purchase a fridge for $1000 on your card. You make a payment of $500 prior to the card's closing date. The card company reports a balance of $500 to the credit bureau. This lowers your debt ratio, resulting in a higher score. Have this at the back of your mind. There are good days, and there are bad days. It is a zero-sum game. Always follow these tips: Save, and Invest wisely, by diversifying your investments so that when another is down, the other will be up. An experienced specialist whose platform has diverse investment choices to pick from can help you achieve this. I can recommend one if you don't mind. Your first and only big investment/cash drop should be a home. Stay focused on never ruining your credit because it makes a huge difference in life.

Also, collections due to medical bills do not show up on your credit report by law, so they do not impact your credit score.

My credit takes a dive every time I buy an investment property and then rebounds even better once it's all established. I'm also young too so it makes since I don't have many years of credit history behind me. Still around 750 though thanks to channels like Grahams!

It definitely seems contradictory. Similar to the topic of good debt versus bad debt. To many this may sound silly, because it's still debt either way.

My credit score is 847/850, which is essentially perfect. All I did was pay off my credit cards on time, all the time. Not sure it has ever gotten me anything. I did lease a car no money down, but I am sure you don't need a perfect credit score to do that.
