For the most part, I like the changes made to the circuit but I do miss the old back straight with the tree canopy cover and the rays of sunlight poking through. It's kinda sad that it's been replaced by a simple tunnel.
Man the nostalgia literally gave me chills. My father used to show me how to tune suspension in GT1 so that these high downforce cars weren't so unstable, especially trying to keep your speed through that hilarious chicane. Still remember him trying to explain why the tachometer went all the way to 16 and why this car had an " 🇷 " next to it. Started watching you way back before Forza Motorsport 6, what a journey it's been.
Seattle would be bonkers online. Tahiti maze was sick. the ones I remember spending hours on were Mid-Field Raceway and Tokyo R246 -- GT5 was my last gran turismo, cause I stopped buying consoles, so idk if these every got brought back or not
Judging by how they butchered Trial Mountain with the removal of the tree canopy, making the track wider, the straights longer and making the track easier overall, they would absolutely butcher Seattle and make the Jumps nonexistent.
Comparing the new Trial Mountain to the one in GT6 I can see that although the scenery has gotten more detailed than ever before, it is also a lot less unique. I miss the back straight with overhanging trees. It looked so cool.
The tree canopy loss kinda sucks, that was a big personality trait of the track. I understand the last corner adjustment but it just doesn't feel right being so sharp, although maybe they did it to make the pit lane line up better with track time.
Trial Mountain is much, Much wider and the elevation changes have been reduced. It’s an easier track to drive and I still don’t know how I feel. I hope they can bring back the old track in a DLC but overall it’s great
I honestly doubt they're going to bring back the old version, looks like this new version is here to stay but nostalgia itself is a bitch. So who knows if this new layout ends up more fun to race in the long run. In the older games you wouldn't take the track seriously because of the yeet chicane and racecars felt like riding a rollercoaster because of the elevation, don't get me wrong I loved all that about it but I can see why they matured the track.
I always had an admiration for tech like this, take a regular car and gut it till there’s nothing left but brutality, no dashboard, plates over the exhaust to stop the bumper melting off from backfire. There’s something philosophical about it, it’s what drew me into racing in the first place.
11.500 RPM on this Alfa gives it a higher pitch, sounds really good. Also sound changes depending on the view your using. I've had a few hours spend on it as well and the sound is really good not just of your own car but also the opponents whilst racing.
At first I was like I missed going under the trees after the shadey area right outside the tunnel, but that extra tunnel level is still considerably nice. 👏
Love to see that red Alfa, hope they add some classic Giulias and the current Giulia too, is it too much to hope for both Veloce, regular Quadrifoglio and the GTA?
I think one of the big reasons the track was lengthened was to allow for a much larger starting grid. In previous versions, having a longer line of cars meant the starting grid pushed its way into the infamous chicane.
Not just the track, but I can see how much AI has improved over GT Sport. They’re fighting it out and is not afraid to overtake you (they previously would usually brake to keep distance from your rear). Also, I can see _some_ traces of Sophy here an there from the erratic steering and the aggressive demeanour of wanting to overtake the car in front. What a nice change.
Greetings from New York !!! I am sitting at home finishing up a late lunch break and watching this and I am absolutely floored at how beautiful this game looks 😳🤯 I really have to get myself a PS5 smh 🤦🏿♂️
Have to say this starting in last place deal is wearing a bit thin, especially when the field is so spread out. If you can't catch and pass the leaders by the end of a race, what hope has a newcomer got? Or is it forcing you to have a perfect race to be able to get the win? Wish they would bring back the option of qualifying that was in GT2 or 3, so long ago but much more realistic
That really shit me to no end in gt4. No qualifying. Htf are you supposed to tune a car before a race? Or just play that race 500 times to get it right? 🤔 not sure how that will go in a series race.
@@kriskater agreed that it's a crutch, but I don't think Sophie is coming to GT7, though we may get more improved AI, hope they add more new events with grid starts
I am happy they gave some love to Alpha Roméo ( yes i am an Alphisti) What i would love to see is the QV GTM and see how it performs. Besides this, great video and comments as always.
The Alfa reminds me of an ancient game - which wasn't all bad for the time - TOCA (by Codemasters, I believe), where B5 Audis A4, Mondeos and Peugeots 406 were "the thing". That said - if there is a game I wil buy the PS5 for - this one would be it.
The audio is better than its been on previous games but having seen the 155 pedalled by Tarquini in the flesh, they've still not got that glorious sound just right.

From someone playing GT2 that looked A LOT different. It's as if it's not the same track anymore! Entirely different technique and layout. But at least it got back...even though in the original design there were areas where overtaking is very easy and the bumpy back straight gives a bit of a stability test, the steep curve just after the first turn and a bit of a blind turning to be done...then that last left hander before the chicane that I suck at. I do miss the SS Route tracks. But not Route 11 for sure!
The new Trial Mountain map now looks like an upside down wide shirt thrown on the floor or a upside down long bird, lol. Its so cool Trial Mountain is in GT7. Its definitely different, will just take some getting use to.
