I am almost exclusively doing VR cockpit and only take the occasional break out of VR while charging my haptics vest. And until I can afford a wheel, I have exclusively used the gyroscope steering on the controller instead of the joysticks or buttons. Great video! Love your GT7 content. Third person is like driving an RC car. I hate third person but it is fastest especially when doing 1 lap times. I'm in VR2 so my only view is cockpit, and I love it as I am only interested in real SIM. Cheers!

I enjoy 3rd person because I like to see what I’m driving as well as appreciating the vehicle physics on the tracks.
My 2nd preferred cam is without a doubt, the roof can. I’m able to see the hood of the car which is cool and recognizable of what I’m driving. It also gives me a good view of what’s in front of me.
Cockpit cam is also great and very immersive. However, visibility is just too limited.

In Cockpit, always adjust your seat for max visibility. And yes he's right. Not enough adjustments. In VR, you have to find the sweet spot by moving around, resetting driving position. But now it's limited...

F1 i always use roof looking down, I get better apex accuracy, however I use bumper on gt7 as I like the information centre of screen, better d pad control experience, I have used cockpit but some of the vgt type cars are a bit crap for visibility

Third person because of the wider field of view.
When nasty drivers are trying to ram me, I can usually see them setting up and try to avoid them.
When I watch motorsports we view the event, usually not from the in car camera.
    When I'm watching, I'm learning.

I have been a 3rd person driver for the past 25 years as a casual gamer who always played racing games for fun and wasn't a hardcore sim racer. That all changed when I fired up the PSVR2 a couple months ago with the Woojer Vest 3 and IEM headphones. So much fun and the killer VR app that changes everything! I am now so hooked that I plan to save up for a wheel, seat, and pedals. I think it is entirely possible to overcome most the downfalls you mentioned why you don't recommend the VR view. Some cars are worse than others with visibility. But with killer immersion of sound and haptics that rattle your core, the fun factor goes up exponentially. I have also exclusively used the gyroscope steering with a dual sense pro controller since I don't have a wheel. The only time I don't play in VR is when the Haptic Vest needs a charge and then I switch to Third person. I have a 144hz monitor so I get a visual upgrade. Still would trade that visual upgrade 100% of the time for being in the cockpit of these amazing vehicles.

You forgot the one I use. The in between bumper hood roof and cockpit view. I call it the window view with a rear view mirror at the top (Can see nothing but the road). Been using it through all the GT games. Almost the same view as the bumper cam.

Recently started flipping between Cockpit and roof cams. In cockpit view, wish it had more field of view to be able to look through the turns, especially in the hairpins. Love the in car cam for the realism, but for me, roof cam for better situational awareness.

As a pad player, I've got so much to say on this, I mainly use first person view with the mirror, however sometimes i use bonnet view at tracks like Bathurst and Tokyo Expressway when you need to use the extremities of the circuit, I use chase cam in Forza Horizon, FM and Driveclub Dashcam is the best cam in Driveclub its truely brilliant in the wet weather you should try that. I've tried using chase cam in GTS/GT7 it just loses all the immersion for me. Super GT used to get all sorts of flack for using chase cam in GTS/GT7.

In flatscreen, bumper cam right on the front bumper, not hood view. WIth the camera near the deck, you also get the great mirror.

I use bumper cam, for the immersion without the cockpit clutter taking up the screen. There is so much sensation and sense missing driving in GT Vs real life, I feel 3rd person view makes up for that. Where you might feel a real car over or under rotate you might not sense that in bumper/cockpit view but you could see that in 3rd person view. Also navigating traffic, the 3rd person view better replicates your senses than the cut down bumper or cockpit view.

I use a mix of all different camera views. My favorite even though it kind of makes me struggle is hood view. However if say I'm doing daily races I'll likely be in third person view so I can juke people who want to ram. My juking ability has been worked on for some years while racing on gta. And because of this I've placed very high in racing lobbies.

Bumper cam will easily be the quickest out of all camera angles, as you know exactly where to place the car on apex entry/exit. I play for realism, though. Even if I'm 1-2 seconds off the pace of the fastest guys in the world in cockpit mode, it doesn't matter to me. I want to get the full experience. And it makes me happy to know that if I'm a bumper cam driver, I'm easily into the top 2% in the world, and in some cases, in the top 1%.

I use the “bumper” view with the mirror, but it’s not on the bumper. It’s higher up and further back, which you can tell when you’re right behind someone. I would guess it’s either supposed to be at the bottom of the windscreen or kind of two thirds of the way up the bonnet. I feel it gives the best view of the road, the rear view mirror is essential and the MFD is centred on the screen, which makes it much easier to change brake balance/traction control/fuel mapping without taking your attention away from the road. If you compare it to bumper cam on other sims/games you’ll notice the difference in position of the camera.

No one can say anything unless they drive cockpit view! I use chase came. I can’t remember the last time I see someone driving down the road on their bonnet or sitting on their front bumper… people get pulled into this “bumper cam is the best” but you can’t see around you… I’m Top 100’ish every week in 3rd person chase cam. I do stiffen up the camera so it doesn’t rotate also, and go to close view 👌🙌

Anyone that has ever driven a real car in real life knows that the cockpit view isn't what the view is because you need to have 3 screens to have the actual view you would have. In VR cockpit is probably legit, not in VR it's 1000% unrealistic, period.
