@@RolandBaker Yeah I'm on the fence at even trying this lens. Lets face it, we know with mirrorless the sensor is right there exposed inside and you let sunlight in that close...hmmm. I think I'll stick with my Pocket Dispo and add flare (if needed) in post ha!
I think it’s biggest down fall at least compared with video, is the blur/distortion/vignette is too heavy handed on the sides, where as the dispo is less intense.
I feel like it doesn’t give a class is analog feel it’s a very stylistic niche type of effect something like a diffusion filter is better at simulating the bloom and dreamy look of 35mm film
I'm currently designing a lens that reuses disable camera elements with a custom 3D printed housing that does exactly what this thing does haha... I´ll sell it for $30-40 bucks or so.
Try the Fotodiox ArtFX ColorFlare and you can use anything. The Canon to E is only 200 bucks and you can get leaks on anything and it even has AF. If you don't need AF, you can get a dumb adapter for 100 bucks. I modded mine with gaffer tape instead of using their rubber rings, though.
You should be petty and return it. LOL. Besides, my Lens cap DISPO Lens that was 20 bucks on Amazon has the same effect. They are just making something common into a premium. And yea, they said that Peter Mckinnon and Shortstache is better and bigger than you. Thats their way of saying they cant control you into saying the truth behind their mock premium shit.

Glad ya asked that question on the light leaks to the sensor, that was my first thought. Even though they said no I'm still leery.
Exactly. As a person who's gone through having a damaged sensor. I'm weary to those kinds of things.

definitely gonna need that Light Leak Lens vs the Pocket Dispo, expeditiously
