    Great video guys! I like to see drills like this.
    Also, I think it's both smart and mature of you, Aaron, to incorporate WTF Taekwondo techniques into your videos so that you can reach out to a larger audience.
    Personally, I train in the Olympic style, but I've been watching your videos since I started and they definitely helped me!
    I was also lucky enough to meet Aaron Cook last year at a competition :D

    I think that these kicks would really help an mma fighter step up his game,since most of them rely heavily on muai Thai kicks.

    • @Notreallyhere817r
      @Notreallyhere817r 7 лет назад +2

      Tasos Mourikis this isn't Muay Thai this is taekwondo

    • @JHmuniz1
      @JHmuniz1 7 лет назад +3

      some taekwondo kicks can`t be applied in mma cause u let your stance open, but u can see some in mma, like axe kick, tornado kick, back spinning kick etc...

    • @jamesmiles9048
      @jamesmiles9048 7 лет назад +1

      Tasos Mourikis that's because taekwondo fighters don't have to worry about being punched in face or taken down,as generally taekwondo fighters not ground fighters wouldn't be good idea to be taken down ground and pounded for 5 mins,

    Hey Ginger, i have a question and i hope i can get an answer from you.
    But first i have to tell you that i am 20 years old and i am 188cm tall, i train at home and watch youtube videos ''Taekwando stretching, kicks for beginners'' and all that amateur stuff...
    I really love Martial Arts and my question is: is it too late to start learning Martial Art like Taekwando or Karate at age 20, because i see most of the people start these arts at their early ages.
    I want to learn all of these technics for my self and because i go to the GYM- i feel my self very stiff. I want to be more flexible and agile and outside are all kind of people so one day if its needed (i hope not), but i want to know how to move my legs too :D :)

  • @yoosilviu

    on Aron's right arm is a blue, yellow, red flag, can you tell me what is it? I don't want to do a mistake, that's why I'm asking

    • @dwiki83
      @dwiki83 7 лет назад +1

      HighTower he moved his nationality to Moldova, in 2012 he is number one rank in wtf, but somehow britain doesn't choose him for the Olympic team, but they choose lutalo muhammad at that time rank 59. so after the 2012 Olympic Aaron has moved his nationality to isle of man and then got the offer to move again to Moldova that fully supports Aaron Cook

    • @yoosilviu
      @yoosilviu 7 лет назад

      I thought so but I didn't want to make a mistake, thanks and I'm glad that Moldova supports him if the British can't appreciate a great fighter and I hope that he'll bring gold to Moldova ;)

    What I don't understand is why fighters train kicking upwards with the turning kick, instead of turning their hips & kicking parallel to the ground. I mean won't that slide up when connected with a real human body. It'll make sense if the fighters fought leaning forward or something. But they mostly fight standing upright. So it makes no sense to kick upwards.
    & I'm not only talking about these two. Most MMA fighters train their round kicks like this. The coaches will hold the pads downward & the fighters will kick upwards. Why the coaches don't hold the pads sideways?

    • @charlotteflair9179

    • @MrScar665

      Because it's faster. It's also very dumb because you can kick an elbow

    • @sheng287sheng287channel
      @sheng287sheng287channel 7 лет назад +7

      Shinsuke Nakamura Because it's easier to move faster ! The lesser the angle ..the more speed you will have ! That kind of technique you are mentioning is for power ! The more angle ....means more power !

    • @jokecukie
      @jokecukie 7 лет назад +13

      Proper taekwondo technique would be turning the hip after the chamber, but in fights you want to be as fast as possible. The goal isn't to cause max damage but points. It's a game

    • @TheJpmaster69
      @TheJpmaster69 7 лет назад +1

      Jose Aldo hits pads like this too. A lot of people do, especially in muay thai. It's more frequent in muay thai than taekwondo, it's a matter of choice.
      Some prefer this method because hits faster and since kicks are so powerful as long as it hits, it will be doing damage.

    • @PyroVK
      @PyroVK 7 лет назад +21

      Basically it forces you to breathe out when you yell. So that you perform proper inhaling and exhaling before and after a kick. Also tightens up your core a little bit right before impact so that when you release that tension, it gets some power. Lastly, I think it helps with the adrenaline, keeping you in "fight" mode :P

    Big differences between tkd old and new school... those round kicks these guys are doing just works on competitions... they makes the kicks with they legs almost totally extended... this open your guard and make it so easy to receive a counter attack... Old school TKD to make the round kicks is required to keep your knees bent before the kick... this will make your guard keep closed while you are aplicating the kick.
