Are there any plans to stretch the air frame for a tandem two seat config? Is there a baggage compartment? It seems to me that this would make a practical commuter aircraft, 200-400 miles.
@@jppjames that's side by side. they should do a glider style tandem in single piece carbon fiber instead. let riveted sheet metal sink with the titanic. and a turbofan jet instead so it's far more fuel efficient. Ever pressurize it. Then it could be a super serious plane. Blow everything away. Revolution no less.
@@samuall.jackson9728 well it's not that affordable and because of its shortcomings it's useless for actually going places. what I propose would have private jet mobility and can be very inexpensive. Has nothing to do with the price tag of a visionjet. shredder is not right about anything :) a jet needs to go high and fast and have good aerodynamics. subsonex aint got jack. doing it right makes all the difference. actually light jets (ALJ) has extreme potential, way beyond what you understand. An interesting data point is that the Eclipse twinjet has as good fuel economy as a Baron 58 piston twin despite going twice as fast. That is a very profound fact. That means you can do jets down to LSA weight and LSA fuel economy yet retain jet speed and mobility. Like I said, you don't quite understand the potency of what I'm proposing. And it doesn't have to be expensive. It can be much cheaper than a Cirrus SR22
Does anyone know what the button between the engine tapes is(it triggers a red light)? They hit on take-off and turn it off again on climb out. Is it an N1 limiter or something like that?
+Sonex Aircraft, LLC Thanks for the info! I'm an A&P working on heavey's ( A330, 777 ect.) and I'm well versed in FEDEC controlled engines. Guess you wouldn't want your motor shelling out at rotation or on short final do to an exceedence. Great idea on the part of the FEDEC software designer. .
is there any chance that in the near future this aircraft would be competing in the Red Bull air race? it would be nice to see it flying alongside edge 540 that seems to be the aircraft choice other than the Extra.

100k for single seat kit plane jet seems that price is just out of reach for your typical sonex builder the folks who can afford it they just get an L39 something like that.

Boring
What an amazing aircraft.
They all had perfect landings! My WW2 Lancaster bomber father told me in his late 90's he's a young boy trapped in an old man's body!
Nothing but grins and smiles.

@@DanFrederiksen Getting more and more expensive. There already is a Vison Jet for that.
@@DanFrederiksen- shredder is right. Everything you mentioned adds complexity and $$$. The great thing about the JSX-2 is it’s affordability.

I *will* own one of these
44k dollars
Will u?
Great job gentlemen...
The guy in the red jacket has his shit together.
That looks so much fun, Maybe I need to get my class 3 back??
I love the Sonex platform. I want one with a Jabiru 3300 engine and a speed prop. With a glass cockpit. Come on Santa. I have been good.

+den thomason Tell me about it... I had a fuel problem on a start once with a GP7000 engine, glad I didn't take off.
We don't need no stinkin' propeller!
what brand is the helmet?
Why don’t the wheels go up exactly together?

Can a 6'2" guy fit in this thing? I sat in a BD-5 once and there was no way. I couldn't get the canopy closed.
Yes, depending upon how you’re proportioned. Email sales@sonexaircraft.com if you’re serious about the aircraft for more info.
awesomeness - some day it will be mine oh yes it will be mine ....
Nobody tapping their brakes before gear retraction?
Looks like a huge runway but floating halfway down it .....

How are the pilots trained? Is there a sim? or a 2 seater?
They're accomplished pilots. Mostly they just have to learn the particulars of the plane.
Can you fly that with a PPL?
Amazing
I wonder if you could mount guns on that thing?
Is the SubSonex aerobatic?
I love it.
So cool Sonex are making jet ownership more affordable!

Billy seemed a little nervous.
Is the SubSonex pressurized?
Also, how fast and high does it go?

blastman8888 the plane is cheap the engine is more than the plane
Engines are getting cheaper! Electric on the horizon! Battery tech is finally catching up too!
@@justiceforsethrichwwg1wga160 I think it'll be a fat minute before we see electric planes that actually make sense.
yeah but good luck with the operating costs of the l39 then
This must be New Mexico. Why is it that everyone I've seen take off and land in the Subsonex is always right of centerline?
I love the plane it so cute and I think it's so easy

nice
"Saw 260 on the approach" Funny, I thought the speed limit below 10k is 250...

Nope, just clarifying your confusion on the regs...
