Honestly, for the rockets, I'd just go with "As accurate as feasibly possible" - Sure we want them to look cool, but at the end of the day the fun comes from watching them fly like proper rockets!
I agree with this
This
Agreed. Sci-fi writers are not rocket scientists.
Yeah a happy medium works
Definitely
Design a stable rocket that looks like it would fit in the halo universe
this^
Wait, if most of the instability is because the front is basically a brick, why not carve vents to let the air pass through so it looks game-accurate but flies more true? We won't see the rocket from the front, not unless we're gonna get a sunburned face to the 3rd degree XD
Yea like a version 2 of that rocket
As far as rockets go, why not do both? Some for game accuracy and showpieces, and others for aerodynamic functionality.
I think this is the best option. Then in the next video there can be a demo of how bad they are before he pulls out the other ones he made.
I agree do both and add dual exhaust ports or Tri exhaust ports
This💯
@@bendob i agree do like a comparison of game rocket to one that will work properly
Yes this
I’ve never seen builds this good anywhere on RUclips he’s like if a wizard decided to get an engineering degree.
I'm (slowly) working my way there 😂
So, an Artificer?
I´ve been a long time follower and haven't seen you on my front page for a while. Then you lured me back with this SPNKR of a series!
edit: I never see the rockets until they are in my face, so as far as game accuracy goes, I think it's most important that they hit their target.
I’d suggest you make your own projectile, but who am I to say. Nice job on the build. ✌️❤️ Shout out to the lovely folks on Patreon.
The locking mechanism with the steel cables - very clever. Well done.
Sabot it! Make the actual rocket smaller and aerodynamic, but put an outer shell on it, that resembles the in-game projectile.
This
That’s really cool
This is the way
You could try to hollow out the middle of the rocket and add in a double-helix. Also add in vents at the front and back of the rocket. That way you could create rotational force using the inside of the rocket while launching, but keep the in-game accurate exterior.
I can REALLY appreciate when someone gives the shout out to those that help them. I always think of those "thank you" speeches that actors do and they just leave out the acknowledgement of the people who got actually them there. It's badass and very cool of you.
God gave you a gift of building things. Awsome to see, dude. Keep it up. Would be cool to see an actual metal one. Haha
for the rocket i say use the body of the game acurate rocket but add a nose cone for aero
Love the latching mechanism desgin! Can't wait to see this thing locked and loaded
Why not just mock up a few "Game Accurate" rockets knowing they will fly like a Spartan thrown out of an Airlock, and then make up a load of cheap disposable Aerodynamic projectiles for actual "target" shooting? O.o
This is awesome. I found your channel through RUclips shorts and now I'm hooked.
Awesome as always! Happy to be a part of this epic project! I'll think on the rocket and see if i can think of something that could help... (maybe add a dome to the front like a laser guided missile? )
Accuracy is everything!!! Excellent job so far! 👊🏻🧡🇨🇦
As a KSP enthusiast I can tell you whole heartedly, you can make anything fly well with good weight distro.
Looking great! Having it fire well is definitely more important than being game accurate :)
I have no idea how I didn't see this sooner, but still cool as hell
Your projects and ability never cease to amaze me.
With regards to rockets, maybe try and get the game accurate rockets working after getting it to work with an actual rocket.
A rocket is a rocket IMO.
I've gotta vote for a hybrid solution on the rockets. Maintain as much appearance as possible while making limited adjustments for moderately stable flight. Great job so far, can't wait to see what's next!
Take a look at the MK.153 SMAW projectile. It has a similar aesthetic to the halo projectile. I also think it has similar dimensions if I remember correctly.
Kudos to you sir/madam, whether intentional by Jarius or not, the best rockets from video 5 (in function and aesthetic) did end up being very similar to the SMAW design.
I’m a huge Halo fan, and really like the nitty gritty details. That said, the type of rocket being used wouldn’t make me think this project is any less cool, I’d rather you design something that works well
For the rockets, you can make a rigid putter shell that looks like them, and have a hollow center with an accurate, cone nose rocker that goes, relatively straight
Best of both worlds... Make the front finned light-grey section a detachable sabot shell/surround, then have a standard cone tip underneath. Have the back dark-grey fins fold out if needed for stability. Hell, you already did all this prototyping with the pringles can launcher.
A functional rocket heavily inspired by the game rocket sounds like the best bet. If its functionally accurate, it will be much, much cooler, even if the rockets are inspired more than accurate
I'll be real here. If an apocalypse were to happen and this man were to be alive after the initial start of the apocalypse happens. The no matter what this man is going to survive with all the things he has built
Go for a medium! Create your own rocket but then maybe implement the fins and same color scheme as the halo rocket. I love this project, it just fits with your channel! Been here since a bit before the power fist and your videos are all entertaining since. I love your channel keep it up!
Love your attention to detail, not just in form but also function. I would've figured most people wouldn't have gone through the trouble of reinforcing the rolling ring, since it only needs to work for a few shots in a video, but you build your stuff to last.
Regarding the rocket design, if it's not too much trouble, I'd say to do both: try launching a few of the game-accurate design so we can see how bad they fly, but don't waste time trying to optimize that design to fly stably. Instead try to build a 2nd rocket design that will be stable, with bonus points for looking like they'd fit in the Halo universe.
Putting the rocket motor in front of the rocket and letting the exhaust flame blast through a tube towards the rear could make it fly and solve weight issues. I got the idea from the thunder spears video from the Hacksmith. Then you would be able to keep the original Halo design.
Make the rockets hollow, so air flows through them
quite a few modern rockets and missiles have a profile similar to that, the nose cone usually houses guidance packages and optical devices
I'm on the why not both train. You're going to have fun with something that fires long and true-ish. Your nerd-self is going to enjoy a replica on the shelf and you know you'll stick a motor into a replica anyway.
seems like adding some spring loaded stabilizing fins to the back would let you have the right "look" but give you something with a bit better chance of flying strait something along the line of the rpg-32 TBG-32V Thermobaric Grenade if you squint a bit they look very similar so it might let you get the right look with something that will fly without alot of testing
"It has the aerodynamics of a Pringles Can" XD
We probably won't be able to see the detail of the rocket as it's flying, so just use the closest-looking one that flies straight and give it the same paint job. The project is the rocket launcher, and historically rocket launchers are capable of firing a variety of rocket types. I would expect a rocket launcher from the future to not be limited to one shape of rocket.
Excellent build j.
I would suggest keeping the halo look just tapering the front. Also a model rocket engine would really shoot them well - and they have electric ignitors……
This looks amazing!

Sweet rocket bro
How this man doesn't have well over a million subscribers by now is beyond me!!!!
a few screen accurate rockets and a few of your own design for efficiency!
We live for screen accurate rockets 🚀 🙌
If you put the rocket motor and maybe some extra mass at the very front of the rocket, and have the rest of the rocket behind that essentially be a hollow tube, I think that should move the center of pressure(center of drag? I'm not sure the proper name, but basically the center of where the oncoming wind would apply force to it.) behind the center of mass making it stable in flight. Some old bullets before spin stabilization was common used this technique, the bullet was like a hollow cylinder with the front being capped. Sort of works like fletchettes on darts.
Take that game accurate rocket and house a sabot within. You made a pringles sabot you can do anything.
If you can get the rocket’s center of mass far enough forward, it might fly straighter than you think it will. If everything aft of the yellow line is nothing more than a thin tube (think 3d print in vase mode), and you make the forward 1/3way more substantial, you could conceivably get the CoM to be just aft of the forward fins. Using a strong motor that can fit entirely ahead of the yellow line would help tremendously here, but I have no idea what size motors you’ll be able to use.
The fact that the front of the rocket is flat is _not_ actually the problem, as long as the motor is strong enough.
I would like the rockets to be game accurate, but we also dont want another mantis blade, so focus on making accurate ones that fly straight and mabye later down the line you could make game accurate ones, but for now, just make the rhings you will work, so you dont beat yourself up over it.
I'd say design a rocket that will be most effective as a rocket. You can always come back to it at a later date to make a lore accurate one, but just might take more time.
So looking at those rockets my first thought is SABOT. My second thought is prohibitively expensive, the rocket launcher itself is dope man, it doesn't need perfect rockets, just do what you can on it I'd say.
I love these projects of yours!
I swear though, if you an Colin Furze teamed up, you guys could take over the world or something.
I think you should make something that works as a rocket because when you fire it, the cool factor will be higher if you actually hit what you're aiming at rather than it looking accurate when it comes out of the tube.
For the rockets try to modify the pringle cans to actually fly right and be aerodynamic instead of scrapping them or doing way more work to make them fly right and look game accurate
With your rocket problem, why not make the nose cone break away to reveal a pointy top (A missile must be pointy) haha that will help at least a little bit with a little bit of your aerodynamic problem :D
If the in game rocket had the front vanes split away and fall off like a sabot, it'd look game accurate when you load it and be aerodynamically stable after it launched.
For the rockets, I say do both. Make it as game accurate as you can, but still as arodynamic and stable to be functional in real life physics.
This is definitely over-engineered but I think what would be a good idea is making the rockets transform into a more aerodynamic shape this would be mid-flight so that way when the rocket is prepared inside the tubes they would look how they were supposed to. But sending it up so that way after it goes to certain speed or some sort, a device at the end of the barrel would act as a receiver and activate the other form of the missile.
Just a thought.
Who needs rubbers when you have Teflon tape hahahaha love it
You're a genius sir
I feel like the original rockets can work if you turn the fins so there's rotation and make the front a little rounder. The hard part is having the right propulsion
Or put rifling in the tubes if you wanna make your life miserable
Perks of staying up to 3am is seeing this early
Get the weight distribution of those game accurate rockets right and you might be surprised at how well they fly. Have a look at ‘half length darts’ in the nerf hobby versus full length darts and how they compare in terms of accuracy. That is all down to the weight distribution. Those have totally flat fronts aswell in many cases.
Get the halo rockets to work to add the cherry on top 😎
I think you should go for as accurate as you reasonably can, but make the necessary changes to get it to fly well
I'd like to see you spend the time making the rockets as accurate as possible whilst still maintaining the functionality of rockets.
build both- focus on fuctional rockets and save the accurate ones for display
Modify the game rocket on cad? Maybe wrap around stabilizers that pop out as they leave the tube?
Very cool!!!
About the rockets, it would be nice to see how u go about making the replica thing fly true, but it does not bother me what so ever if you just use one that u know already works. Either way, curious and anxious to see the next part.
i vote design the rocket, but retaining similarities wont hurt. id really just love to see this thing with the best potential 🤘
Oh no… well, you’re gunna do both anyway, so my vote is: get the originals to launch, and the stand-ins to be awesome :)
I kinda have to go along with others. A few game accurate and a few aerodynamic ones. The game ones. Look like they could use longer fins in the rear. Maybe figure out how to add a spring deployment. So after the rocket leaves the tube. The fins deploy giving it a Lil bit more stability. The front fins I'd leave alone. They could act like kenards I think is the name.
taking a screenshot of how many names are on the table now so I can show I'm an OG when there's millions of names on thousands of tables
On the rockets, I know it would be twice as much work but why not do both. That way if the game accurate rocket fails you have the others to be functional for the launcher
Aren’t thumbs great? Eat your heart out animal kingdom!!!
Overall SOOO DAMN cool!!! but them welds tho
SPNKR?! I hardly…… but it all seriousness….I’d say maybe try to make the in game rockets work, they look so cool! Maybe tilt the fins so instead of them being straight, give them a little turn so the rocket spins? But if that isn’t feasible make some that look alright and still fly well. I definitely agree with others that the whole point of this is to have cool rockets flying out of it, but love to see progress being made! Make sure to get some sleep too
Do both. Make the game accurate ones, for the sake of visual accuracy. Then make one that maximizes flight
I really think you should try and make the lore accurate rockets work. But if you can't of course you can always resort to option B and make your own.
Definitely try to get the game projectiles to work
I'm surprised you're not working with your previous partners that allowed you to create the gauntlet thing I forgot its name but still I'm surprised you haven't worked with him yet on this project maybe after you're done with this I want you to create a challenge for him to create an exact replica and completely works like you did
I think you’re talking about the Ironman rocket launcher. That was just me that made it. We just revealed it on the hacksmith’s channel. Since he is in Canada I’m not sure if I can even go there right now.
id rather see it work than look right, this isnt a cosplay channel, this is a channel that makes not real things work for real
I would say to try and do a mix of halo rockets but engineered to actually work irl and not just work in game lol. Whatever you come up with is gonna be awesome no matter what and yeah we will be able to see them but that is only because its not a weapon to destroy irl but a device to have fun without causing damage.
A stable rocket that could fit within the halo universe
I'd personally say either just work with the exact game model or do slight alterations to make it more stable
for the rockets design ones that fly and ones for looks
rocket, you know that looks like a rocket launcher... oh it is? it is.
Awesome channel. it doesn’t bother me that the rocket won’t be functional. I’d love to see you test a few rockets with the launcher to see what works best.
I rekcon to make it accurate as possible, use the in game rockets, remove the front fins and try to center the weight towards the rear.
This should be a good balance of in game accuracy and realism.
I think it would be nice to see game accurate 👍
Yes it would bother me, us men, must follow our dream, we do what we can to become happy, WE SHALL HELP YOU TO BUILD THIS ROCKETTTT!!!!!(I have never in my life played Halo i just think it would be badass to make it accurate to the game cuz i know i wouldnt sleep till I was satisfied with my results/conclusion because from there with a good rest the next day i will think of the flaws of the conclusion or results)
i would make a few that are game accurate, but not even try to make the game accurate ones fly right. Then make some more stable rockets the way you want them to look, too, so you can get some shots with cool looking accurate rockets also.
whatever rocket you make works for me .. but I wonder if the front part of the rocket could be a Hollow tube and the center could be the Cone .. where those parallel lines are those could be Cutouts to allow Air to flow past for Aerodynamics
This is pretty baller.
Id say try to get those to work, and just make small changes to it until it flies the way you want
Big fan from India 🇮🇳💜
Honestly I don't care if the rockets are accurate you could always paint ones that work in a similar style to the game art.
i personally say take the middle road, and modify the game accurate rockets to be more aerodynamic.
was waiting 4 this
Try sticking a cone on the replicas and if that doesn’t work, make the most accurate functional design you can
Great, impressive work,, hears an idea.. You made a fire tornado gun, can you make a wind tornado gun?
