@@CruiseTipsTV Sheri in one of your previous videos I remember you mentioning a spreadsheet you were using to compare prices for a future cruise. Any chance you would be willing to share that as well? We're in the middle of our planning for our first cruise and we have options for four different Lines, so having some organization would help. Much appreciated. Sean.
one major thing we wont cruise without are insulated cups! On carnival there were areas to fill up on water/coffee/tea, but they only have tiny cups available
Something I brought on the last cruise that was so helpful was a tray! I could bring back food, drink, snacks, silverware and whatever to my cabin. Room service is pretty restricted, so it was great. I'm pretty sure Princess used to have trays at the buffet, but not any more, so even just taking food to the table is a challenge. The tray is flat and light so took up not much space in the suitcase.
Most valuable item we bring on carnival when booked in a balcony room is a bungee cord for the balcony door. It slams closed otherwise and it’s nice to prop the door open to enjoy the sea breeze on warm nights while sleeping.
I always bring an over the door shoe organizer. I hang it over the outside of the bathroom door and use it to store small items like sunblock, hair ties, medication, snacks, sunglasses, extra batteries/chargers etc.
You guys put me on to so many cruising items & they have been (cruise) life changing: Foldable hamper Magnet hooks Packing cubes Will have to add that usb charging hub
Very helpfull. A power strip is great to bring if you can. And princess is a great line to choose. Being able to do laundry on board is awesome. Then you don't need to do it when you get home. The packing cubes are great too. I used them on my last cruise in February. They kept my cabin very organized.
Travel/insulated cup! The micro-cups (glorified shot glasses) available at the beverage stations (at least on Carnival) aren’t big enough for anything! Unless you are always getting soft drinks (read soda/pop) all the time...you are lucky to get two swallows of beverage before it is time to go refill!
I bring some Hydrogen Peroxide in a small spray bottle. When we first enter our cabin we spray and wipe the phone, TV remote control, faucets and door handles. Later on during the cruise we repeat the cleaning. This is reported to be effective in killing the norovirus. Also, USB cables connected to the TVs USB port provides an alternative charging station if you run out of free outlets.
We take a basic bottle opener (corkscrew) now. On a previous cruise our toilet started to overflow, flooding the bathroom (with clean water). It turns out the flush solenoid valve failed open. We immediately called maintenance and began bailing the water into the bathtub with the trash can. I knew I needed to get into the maintenance hatch in the hallway so I could turn off the water to our cabin, but we could not find a cabin steward (or any crew member) who had the proper key for the latch. Turns out my brother-in-law saw the square "keyed" latch and thought their wine-opener might fit. As it turns out, the small metal end that folds out fits the latch perfectly. He was able to open the maintenance hatch and I turned off the water before our entire room flooded. And without our efforts and quick thinking, our room would have flooded as maintenance did not show up until around 45 minutes later.
I'm not going on a cruise till June 1st but I've been watching cruise videos to hype myself and as soon as I found your channel I was hooked. I really love your content :)
A heads up for anyone going on Allure of the Seas: Just called Royal Caribbean and they said NO POWER STRIPS ALLOWED of any kind. Just trying to save someone from getting it confiscated before departure. No idea about any of the other ships, though. Best to call ahead and ask.
Yes, I looked it up on their site and it said no to them. I'll just have to buy a larger portable battery to charge our things. I'm taking Allure of the Seas in June, still getting my stuff together.
I brought a light line on my last cruise and was able to hang it on 2 of the super magnet hooks you recommend as a 2nd clothes line. Two swimsuits were all that fit on the existing bathroom line. Super helpful as I handwashed a few things halfway through the trip - socks & unmentionables were light enough for the magnets and pretty much dried overnight.
I binge watched your videos before our cruise. We were on Carnival Paradise. Imagine our surprise when all of our clever magnetic hacks didn't work. The walls were not metal. Even our door was not metal. We brought a white board to have friends sign in and tell us where they were from. We managed to make that stick to the narrow door frame. We had a wonderful time and appreciated all your insights!!
I like the binder to keep everything organized paper wise. My husband would be the one to make that work for us. I’m going to have to tell him about that one.
Great tips. I can see that laundry will become a bigger issue as we move into longer cruises. Next month we may have to do some laundry in the sink, and certainly run laundry when we disembark in Honolulu. I'm considering buying Carnival stock, especially if the market dips down more, or before Japan. $250 OBC and $200 a year in dividents ($.50 per quarter, lately), could entirely pay for itself within 12 years.
I haven’t been watching channel because it was starting to seem a little too rehearsed and lacked the personality that you had before. I saw this recording today and was pleasantly surprised. Great job. I truly enjoyed the video.
I love watching your videos. They are very informative .I'm happy to see that I'm not the only one who brings a lot of toiletries/make up/ first aid etc.I put a lot of my small items in the drinking glasses that are left in the room before putting them on the shelves in the bathroom. They are easily visible.I have cruised 18 times. The last 3 have been solo cruises with Princess. My inside cabins have always had more than enough storage so I can get everything out where I can see it.As soon as I get to my room, I unpack my carry on and personal item. When my 2 large bags arrive a couple of hours later, I unpack those and get my room ready for the next 7 to 14 days, depending on the cruise.I tried the magnet idea last November and it was great for keeping the itenerary, reminders, etc right by the door; hats and light jackets too .One of my favorite purchases has been a clear, waterproof backpack with multiple compartments.I use it for my snorkeling excursions. It keeps everything dry on the catamarans and easily accessible.Looking forward to more videos as I anxiously await my next Princess cruise this fall.
World travelers! Get global entry plus TSA pre-check. Check to see if a visa is required. Remember to allow 2 days for travel to Asia and Australia. Amazon visitors need yellow fever shot. We enjoy 30+ day adventures and it all is done in one luggage and one carry on
All great ideas, but I really love love love the magnets! I bought those last year after one of your videos. Careful though, they are STRONG magnets! Don't get them stuck together! LOL. Also, I've been using packing cubes for years and they are awesome when it comes to cruising or anywhere you might be staying for a length of time!
Going on my first cruise and I'm super excited. I've watch your videos non stop and I'm learning so much. I'm taking my 1yr old son so fingers crossed😊😊😊
I always bring an air freshener for the bathroom, the bathrooms are tiny and sometimes dont smell the greatest. I also always bring yeti cups/water bottles and bring my own water to the pool or on an excursion.
We recently took a South America cruise to Antarctica. Parking for that was challenging as we had to prepare for the warm summer weather in Buenos Aires and Santiago and we had to park for the cold weather at Cape Horn and Antarctica. Love your suggestings of stuff to bring
I would suggest a pen-sized flashlight. If you have to get up at night, you won't stumble around and/or wake up your cabin mates. If there is an emergency, you will have an easier time getting around the ship!
I always take a small flameless candle or 2. Adds ambience and serves as a nightlight to get to the bathroom. An extra one can live in the bathroom so there’s light without waking you up with the bright lights in the middle of the night.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Thirty One Family Organizer! I use mine as toiletry bags and I use super strength hook magnets and hang them up on the wall 😊 I just wish they'd bring back that Origami Pop pattern.

I wanted to do carry on only for the first time, but now I'm hesitant about doing it after watching this video. I might not have enough space when I factor in things I had not thought of before.
I have viewed several of your videos with ideas to take along. One thing I have not seen is to take along an eye glass repair kit. We needed one of these on a cruise and it was not easy to find one.
Sure wish I had seen this BEFORE I took my last Cruise! 🤦🏼♀️ I binged a ton of videos & spent over $150 @TheDollarTree! My suitcase was SO Heavy that my companions kept teasing me that “No Way was my X-Large Suitcase going to make it onboard because the Porters would most likely purposefully drop it in the water”! We always pack a suction cup mirror for in the shower. This allows me to shave while taking a shower while my wife is using the big man can't get in her way.
Thank you for this video! My mom and i, plus a friend, are going on our first cruise in September. We have a mini suite on Crown Princess, and I was so happy to see the actual space! Thanks for your videos; you have awesome advice and videos.
That was very informative! Watched u guys for a while now and I'm still learning something new every time. Love the kids journal. Will have to get that for our next cruise.
We leave light on in bathroom and keep door open a little. You can use the wooden skirt/pants hangers to keep your curtain closed...don't need clothes pins.
My companion & I are cruising a 7 day day cruise to the Bahamas . I wear Niche Men's fragrances and was wondering if I should bring the full bottles or 10ml decants ?
I like your energy and passion and your channel, but I find some of these tips a little outdated. We use our phones for everything. We keep in touch even without a wifi package. Sheri - This is not a what to pack question. We are going on an Alaska cruise June 1 from Vancouver to Whittier. How do we know when formal nights will be? I ask because we want to have dinner one night at the steak house, but want to be sure it is not on either of those nights. Thanks much, Denise
Great video chuck full of excellent tips and great tips from people in the comments as well. Packing eye masks and ear plugs are good things to help you sleep on the cruise as well as on the plane ride to get to the cruise. Cheers! 😎
You bought a new travel clock! RIP old travel clock. I love the little striped body purse. Do you know if they still have it anywhere? Thanks for all you do! 😃
Just thought I'd share that I listened to your two podcasts on Spotify on my drive today and really liked them! It's nice hearing you and Mr. CruiseTipsTV talking together. It made my drive much more enjoyable! Keep up the great work! Cheers! :)
as little as possible - world traveller over 70+ cruiser - small carry on for 30 day cruise - work out clothing the worst - no makeup no hair products lipstick - lol simple roll and mix and match - cabin organization - lol just like your house if your not organized at home or well dressed with less than you need then vacations will be the worst for you- nothing extra just your healthy body - lol! enjoy!
Hi! Long time no watch!!! Busy year but have a Boston to Montreal cruise lined up for July and it's time I start prepping! Last year I bought wall hook magnets but they were so weak they wouldn't even hold my lanyard. They were 18 pound hooks. So I'm looking for stronger ones and saw some 40lb magnetic hooks-too strong???
Love your video! I definitely had a Word doc open to create a shopping list from your suggestions! I love your binder idea so much that I had to go buy one!! Thanks for sharing great ideas!
I am going for a cruise on island princess in Jan 22 for 111 days. I need some help with packing. Where do I start? What do I take? How much do I take? Would appreciate your Input.
Love the travel journal idea! We also purchased the FujiFilm Instax Mini 9 for our 8 yr old daughter to take pictures of her 1st cruise experience. (next month) The travel journal will be an awesome way for her to keep her experiences documented along with her pictures. Also, we suggest you purchase micro-fiber beach towels. We have the sizes XL. They are: 1. Compact and fold up nicely in your excursion backpack (some come in their own travel bag) 2. Very absorbent 3. Fast drying 4. Sand free
Can you send the link to your itinerary? I would love to use that and didn't see a link above.

I love how you mention the wipes b/c MOST forget to clean their cell phones; which is probably the dirtiest and most-touched thing that ppl own.
SO true!
lol, I JUST wiped mine down yesterday! I agree - I'm always cleaning my phone with sani-wipes
wipes everywhere - over70+ cruises but over thousands of world trips wipes thats amazing a simple product -

@@wisperrose which cruise line??
LOVE to see that you are one of the many that use Thirty-One on your cruises.

Why not a plug in night light?
Cell phone flashlight works well too

Sheri - This is not a what to pack question. We are going on an Alaska cruise June 1 from Vancouver to Whittier. How do we know when formal nights will be? I ask because we want to have dinner one night at the steak house, but want to be sure it is not on either of those nights. Thanks much, Denise
Did you ever find an answer? I'm also cruising in June to a different destination and am wondering the same thing.....
Great tips nice to see them in use!
Thanks so much Laura!
Thank you so much for your help they are great tips
Great video chuck full of excellent tips and great tips from people in the comments as well. Packing eye masks and ear plugs are good things to help you sleep on the cruise as well as on the plane ride to get to the cruise. Cheers! 😎
LOVE that! I can't sleep without a mask anymore.
Thanks to you I learned a lot for our first cruise, 👍
Thank you! Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for this video. I like the idea of the USB hub
Thanks so much :-)
Great tips! I just ordered a few items. Do you bring your own snorkel gear?
Thanks for the information! I had no idea at all of the importance of all the “little things” that make your trip easier. 👍🏻
Our pleasure Grace!
Have you all been to Paris in October? I'm struggling with weather attire since it's my first time going there this year. Thanks!
You bought a new travel clock! RIP old travel clock. I love the little striped body purse. Do you know if they still have it anywhere? Thanks for all you do! 😃
That’s an awesome cruise room!
Just thought I'd share that I listened to your two podcasts on Spotify on my drive today and really liked them! It's nice hearing you and Mr. CruiseTipsTV talking together. It made my drive much more enjoyable! Keep up the great work! Cheers! :)
HEY!!! You got a new clock???
as little as possible - world traveller over 70+ cruiser - small carry on for 30 day cruise - work out clothing the worst - no makeup no hair products lipstick - lol simple roll and mix and match - cabin organization - lol just like your house if your not organized at home or well dressed with less than you need then vacations will be the worst for you- nothing extra just your healthy body - lol! enjoy!
Not too strong at all!
Love your videos their very informative and helpful. Thanks
Ah thank you Kristen!!!
Love the striped purse you carry! Where did you get it?
Love your video! I definitely had a Word doc open to create a shopping list from your suggestions! I love your binder idea so much that I had to go buy one!! Thanks for sharing great ideas!
Thanks Melissa! Happy New Year!
Headed on my cruise soon! 5/11/19!!
Nina Cross Have fun!
sounds more like work then a vacation!
I am going for a cruise on island princess in Jan 22 for 111 days. I need some help with packing. Where do I start? What do I take? How much do I take? Would appreciate your
Input.
A world cruise!?
@@CruiseTipsTV yes 111 days
ha ha! I have the same waist pack! my mom gave it to me and at first I was like 'no way!' but it did come in handy, lol
Where did your mom get the waist pack? Thanks.
Where did your mom get the waist pack?
I love your binder!
Sand free
Excellent idea!!! Hope your daughter enjoys!! Send us a photo!
Another wonderful video as usual! 😊
Thanks, Melissa!
That's such a cute little purse! Can you remember where you got it?
Hey Kaylie. Which one?
Great information Sheri.
