My 84 year old grandfather got to see this months before he passed. He was a huge fan of the cubs.
Sorry for ur loss
I'm sorry 4 your lost n he's in a better place. He saw at least 1 of us dreams
He was alive when they last won the WS.
R.I.P.
He went to a better place with an amazing story to tell
I'm not even a Cubs fan, but highkey this might be one of the greatest moments in sports history. 108 years is a hell of a curse to break in such a comeback fashion.
The goat did this
Especially in a seven game series that goes to extras in game 7 then a rain delay
Hell of a series for a hell of a curse break, Cleveland got theirs soon after so I guess it worked for them too but just a little late
😢
@@notNajimiwhen did cleveland get theirs? are u talking about the cavs championship?
As a Cleveland Indians fan, it was definitely one of the most saddest moments of my life but it was also the best world series I ever watched and as for you cub fans, you definitely deserved it after a hundred years I was proud of both teams 😓🙂👍🏻⚾️
You Cleveland fans were total class. Even though the tough game 7 loss....to come so close must have been the bitterest of pills to swallow....you all also understood the pain of the seemingly endless drought. You were among the very first to congratulate the Cubs and their fans. It was definitely noted and really showed your true colors of being honorable competitors who were just as worthy. Hoping you get your next title soon. : )
I'm I'm cubs fan. It was a great series. Cleveland played great.
@@whatareyoulookingat908 my favorite memory from this time was on halloween 2016. I was sitting with my dad and some of the neighborhood dads, just passing out candy when one of them casually mentions "You know how everyone is sayin the cavs came back from being down 3-1 and kept making jokes..." (the indians were up 3-1 or 3-2 right now) and we all just sorta looked at him like "Why would u even bring that juju into this world". He was too strong for us that day, but watchin this video really does make me think, of anyone to lose to, im glad it was the cubs.
Cleveland Indians fans = pure class
If it wasn't for the Cavs winning in the summer I truly don't know what Cleveland would have done when they lost. Thank God that isn't a what if.
My grandfather was at Game 7 of the World Series when they lost in 1945; I wish he had lived to see this.
He was there in spirit
My great-grandpa was there last time they won. I wished he could've seen this as well. So many died before they could get a chance to see them win, but in my heart I have a feeling they know we won.

@@Strangehistoryhomeschool My great grandma told my grandma she was gonna live to see the Cubs win a world series. She passed away last March at the age of 101. She never missed the Cubs play.
My mother,a lifelong Cubs fan finally got to see them win it all at 79 years old!
I was rooting for the Cubs.
But I would never, NEVER claim to be a Cubs FAN. Because that would demean the people who waited 108 years for their Cubs to win a World Series, the fans who were born, lived, and died without ever seeing the Cubs win a World Series. I have immense respect for every true Cubs fan. Especially for the ones who waited, 20, 30, 40, 50 years or more, and remained steadfast fans. I don't think any of you stopped believing after the Indians took a 3-1 lead in the series. I did. I thought the Cubs were out of it.
Obviously... I was wrong.
John Landon My grandfather has been a Cubs fan for over 50 years and gave up on them because of them choking, but still believed after all the pain and suffering throughout the years.

As a British soccer (football) fan, I have no history with baseball, but I can understand the passion and tears that come with the Cubs doing what they did. My football team has had countless years of not winning! When it did finally do something, the city went mental.

My great grandfather and the one i'm named after didn't live to see this. He was born in 1919 and died in 2004. I know he saw it though, and I can only imagine his reaction.
Ar first, I was kinda bummed that my team lost...
Then I heard about the century of pain and how it was even worse than the Cavs drought, and I understood.
Everyone understands eventually. 108 years is hard, but we're no longer the lovable losers.
Krish Bb57 then you realize the Indians now have the longest World Series drought
At least your Cavs have a championship. My Jazz still don't have one and they've been in Utah for over 40 years. I can't wait for when we finally do win one.
Krish Bb57: At least you had the cavaliers.
its impossible to describe that that win meant for us
Cardinals fans be like: 'all those 80 year olds are bandwagons" smh
They also say that 'It was rigged'
As a Cardinals fan, I was happy for the Cubs. Was also happy to see all the elderly fans who had to suffer the Cubs falling short year after year finally be able to celebrate.
chucky morris bro I'm a cardinals fan and I will tell I the truth, the 20 year olds are😂😂😂😂lmao
The Cubs do in fact have a LOT of bandwagon jumpers. They act like they're 1,000 times better than the White Sox when fact is, they both have the same number of WS championships: in fact, White Sox actually had more for 11 years until the Cubs got one again in 2016. I am glad to see a team that went over a century win again, it's just that they're not, you know, the Yankees (although the Yankees suck for different reasons).
Even though the Cubs are average now. Although I can't really say much since the Cards aren't really doing anything (like it's been for the past 3 years now)
My grandmother and I were the only cubs fans in our family. When this happened she had been suffering from dementia so much. I called the next morning to tell her about it and couldn’t even get it out without tears. This team gave me one of the most special moments of my life, telling my grandmother the cubs won the World Series and hearing her reaction as I knew she probably didn’t watch or know when I told her. I never forget that.
I remember I had to work on that night at the restaurant. Me and my fellow Cubs fans sneaking looks at the game from one of our cell phones, rushing to close up for the night(thankfully it wasn't too busy, we weren't a sports bar), driving home listening to the game on the radio. I made it home just in time for the final inning. For a Cubs family like mine, it was a magical moment.
As a Red Sox Fan, all I can say is “We’ve been there”, and I was truly overjoyed to see the Chicago Cubs win the World Series. It was a long time coming as we never forget those who also did suffer during Our 86 years of Frustration and Torment.
RED SOX NATION SALUTES YOU ALWAYS!
Since 2004, the Red Sox are the winningest franchise with four titles, followed by the Giants, another team that "broke a curse." The Cubs, I think, could be on your heels.
@@broadstreet21
After the way they dismantled their team this year(In 2021), I would disagree with you. Hopefully this will be “Step 1” in their rebuilding process as the Red Sox have also done some rebuilding in between their 4 World Series Championships in a 14 year period.
Hopefully the Cubs will be building for Another Championship Team.
@@Jiltedin2007 as a cubs fan, I'm happy they got 1. It was the happiest I've been cheering for any of my teams. I dont think the cubs will ever get back there again. Not without epstein. It's a money grab at this point. I don't believe in hoyer as much as I believed in epstein; because of his resume with the sox. It was fun. I'll always remember where I was, who I was with, and how fun that night was.

Come after us! Right now we’re tied with the A’s for Most World Series Championships. If you do pass us, you’ll be passing two teams on the way to the Cardinals 11 World Series Titles.
Best of luck catching up with the Cards.
@@SteveSmith-un3fx
Oh yes, it was fun for me also. To be honest with you, my heart dropped when Rajai Davis launched that bomb in the 8th Inning off Aroldis Chapman. The Cubs had the lead for most of the game. I was at work when that game was played. When work was done and they showed that the Cubs won The World Series, I was elated to see the Cubs win it all.
Although it was tremendous for me to see the Red Sox win The World Series in 2004, it was magnanimous to see the Cubs winning The World Series just that once in my life!
This World Series won by the Cubs meant more than when my team won it. I seriously almost cried when I saw the Cubs win it, I’m so glad they did and I got to witness it. I went to Wrigley Field last week and took the tour, it’s such a beautiful stadium. I sat in the seats and tried to take it all in, the victory, the emotion the fans and team must have felt and all the history in that stadium. It was just surreal for me.

*Think of all who ever played ball at Wrigley Field, Fenway, Old Yankee stadium*

My favorite story of that night: Actor and Chicago native Joe Mantegna had a big watch party at his restaurant in LA, but he couldn't take the drama of the last inning. He walked outside the restaurant where a local TV crew was doing a live remote and asked if he could watch the last half inning in the truck. When Rizzo caught the last out, he threw open the door, expecting an eruption of cheers from the restaurant. Nothing. Dead silence. That's when he remembered that the game was on a 15-second delay, and the truck had the live feed. Then...mayhem.

Regardless of what team anyone supported (Yankees for me), everyone recognized the history that night. Watching reaction vids to the Cubs securing the ‘16 fall classic gets me wicked choked up, but it’s not just because I got to be alive for something many Cubs fans had gone their entire lives without seeing. It was the bare bones of it all; mechanically, the 2016 World Series was everything anyone could have hoped for. It was a triumph story inscribed in the tome of an American mythos that has always and will forever continue to bring wonder to the younger generations, and pride to our elders. Baseball, our great past time, proved once more that it is a pivotal piece to the cultural American puzzle. And the journey of the 2016 Cubs exemplifies this perfectly.
I’m a Sox fan and this brings a tear to my eye. I still remember watching this game
im crying watching this. is this ok?
Perfectly acceptable. So am I. Just thinking about all the people associated with the Cubs organization (Harry Caray, Ron Santo, Ernie Banks, Jack Brickhouse, and so many others) that left this world before this moment, and all those near and dear to us who passed and never got to see it (my grandparents, for example) can trigger a whole bunch of different emotions.
Jennifer Clark. I would give anything to have heard Jack Brickhouse call this last game. Hey Hey!!!
Ron Santo would have needed CPR. I wish he could have called that game.
BP 120 He probably would have cried in Pat's arms.
If you heard grown men crying it's ok to.
I'm not a Cubs fan, but I was so happy for all of the Cubs fans who waited so long for that.
My mom is from Chicago, and she teared up when the Cubs won
One of the best videos on RUclips, cry every time. I remember watching the tv with my dad as they won. Will remember this day forever.
Been going to Wrigley since 1959. Each year my pals and I would make several journeys to the yard for fun (and beers later in life).
We truly thought we'd NEVER get to see this....ever.
We lived thru the days of Bob Buhl, Richy Ashburn, George Altman, Kenny Hubbs, Dave Kingman, Dick Ellsworth, etc etc.
I actually attended all 3 playoff games in SanDiego in 1985 where the Cubs blew all 3.
This was special......for us it was like landing on the sun !
Had moved to Texas in '09. Wish I could've of been in Chicago for this. A long time coming!!! Love my Cubbies!!
This was one of the craziest sports moments of my life. I grew up loving baseball, just some small town kid from Louisiana. Went up and visited Chicago the year this happened, saw the Cardinals and the Cubs play. It was the Chapman 3 pitch inning. I was there, not gonna lie, repping my state, wearing my LSU shirt. After extra innings, and hearing Go Cubs Go, listening to those fans go wild, I was an instant fan. I've seen LSU do a lot of cool sports things, but seeing that was one of the coolest sports experiences of my life.
I am a diehard Sox fan, but to see so many people so happy... I was proud to be a Chicagoan that day. They deserved it
i was only 11 when this happened. I’m so glad i can remember.
the next day at school me and the boys were all decked out in cubs gear. what a week..
As a Red Sox fan, I know how Cubs fans feel when this happened.
Very good Cubs. Congratulations from St. Louis Cardinals fan...!
I just want to say this is the most memorable moment of my life, My mom and dad passed shortly after this game occurred..And I just want to thank everybody who believed in us and no matter what they could do the inevitable.. It was possible in God who strengthen us... God bless the Chicago Cubs AMEN..🙏😪💪🙌
I remember watching this game on my coworkers phone at work on nightshift in florida. Definitely one of the greatest moments in baseball history, it honestly felt like watching a movie. A moment I will never forget forsure!
As a Cardinals fan with plenty of Cub fans as family, I was pulling for you guys to win one. My grandmother and I (Cardinals fans) sat and watched the game with my grandpa. When Davis hit the homer against Chapman he decided to go to sleep. We woke him back up just in time for their final run of the game and so he could watch the final outs. Besides the 2011 WS game 6 and 7 this was my my happiest baseball moment. It was bittersweet because my great grandfather who had been a Cubs fan his whole life (born 1933) died a month or so prior. This game we enjoy is beautiful.
A year later and this still gives me chills. It will always be a moment in my life Ill never forget.
I've seen numerous of Cubs videos in the past 3 months and this one at the moment is by far, my favorite. The music is awesome
They won it when I was 4. Mt dad went crazy like I have never seen before. As a kid growing up in Chicago and watching the Cubs never win a World Series, he was excited, like out of his mind excited.
Still crying from this can't believe it happened! Cubs fan for life!
My God its so sweet. I've witnessed history. Greatest sports moment of my life, hands down. Everybody hear this...the Cubs are World Champions.
Hey I'm a cardinals fan Im from St. Louis I live less that 20 miles from Busch and I love this!! Swear it makes me tear up. I know how sweet it is and how long you waited.
Bitter happy for you! Still.
Coming from a Saints fan, I was so happy that y’all won! I know the feeling
I've always been a Reds fan , we got our World Championships in 75,76 and 90' and can't complain but I was so happy for the Cubs when they won, I cried and I'm not even a fan of Chicago.
108 yrs of pain, unleashed in 3:45. Absolutely brilliant.
As a dodgers fan, i found this really beautiful and emotional. Congrats cubs 😃😃
This never gets old and I still get goosebumps
My aunt sue was a cubs fan for life I’m glad she saw this before she passed
