Test the coil packs and change the plugs, sorted, keep it for summer fun, great engine and loads of smiles per gallon , looks a decent example, £800 should get it based on no MOT and ins Cat History 👍
Well turned out to be serious Vac leak pipe split from fuel pressure regulator to inlet manifold and a second pipe split to the PCV system, all upgraded to silicone pipes. Full service oil/air/fuel/pollen done, plugs to be checked, MOT sorted. Been and got all the docs, not mention on the V5 of crash damage, so good sign it’s only cat D/N rather than C/S what will be noted on V5…. Will check when I get time, but personally I don’t really care as the car is solid for 24 years old. Thanks for watching mate 👍🏼
Great car you got there mate. Change the coil packs when you can. My uncle has a 51 plate TT convertible quattro with the baseball interior, not sure if you’ve seen those. The misted lights shouldn’t be an issue, wet sand, polish and UV protection, that’s all you need 👍🏽😊
Yes I remember my pal had the one with the baseball interior, was definitely different. Turned out to be the vac pipes all split, replaced those and did full service and MOT it’s running spot on. Check out my Facebook page 👍🏼
My mate had a green on green convertible one years ago nice car quick, behaved betrer with the traction off tended to induce understeer with it on but still fun😅
Yeah just wish I had storage space for another car along side the ZX, but unfortunately I don’t, so will probably improve on it and move on in a few months

These MK1 TT’s really do have a timeless design. I’d be tempted by a 3.2 V6, but I can imagine the road tax is astronomical 😅 Have you still got the Laguna Dan? Maybe you could replace it with the TT.
I have driven a few V6 TT and various VAG cars with the 3.2 V6 and they ain’t as quick as you think, not much torque, terrible on MPG, high tax, difficult to work on, the BAM/APX 1.8 20VT 225 walks all over them standard, with a bit extra tuning outdoes them. But I will say the V6 sounds nice. The Laguna I helped a customer out who blew there engine, was going to cost them big money that they couldn’t afford, so let them have the laguna at cost price just to help them out.
Yeah definitely an unexpected trade off for sure, but I love it such a fun car to drive, amazed me how good it is on fuel as well. But if I move it on, will be good car for someone

Yes the traction control does hold things back somewhat.
